Sorry Mondays, wasn't noticing that you needed the Super Rod to catch Shellder. Instead, I'll give you a Turtwig that must always know at least 2 STAB moves and only evolve (both times) by using a Rare Candy on it. Bet you didn't expect a starter. ;P

Try using a novelty pokemon : Delibird, Stantler, Smeargle, etc... Or a good but rarely used pokemon like Jumpluff or Wigglytuff.

Well, after lots of hard work and sacrifice, I've finished this challenge. Sorry about not posting any updates, the game moved so fast that I couldn't really do any. I beat Red with the following (underleveled) team: Inflator / Wigglytuff (Level 62) @ Leftovers ~Fire Punch ~Ice Punch ~Body...

I recommend Machop or Ralts (Which you can either evolve into Gallade or Gardevoir).
