  • I saw your thread on PHO and it looks good! However, I normally ask for a few DA points for ROM maps, as they require a lot of work to get them within the tile limit. It's also useful to know which ROM you're using. Check my DA page for more details (it's linked in my signature).
    I replace all of certain color with something like bright red, then replace it with the new color, which makes it easier to keep track of what you've replaced, then repeat. And what do you think about this house, I obviously haven't inserted it (because I don't want to spend an hour recoloring it just to decide that I don't want to use it), just copy & pasted it onto a-map with paint becuase I wanted to see how it would look. Do you think it clashes with the other tiles? (And the tile is private)
    You still have them somewhere saved on your cpu? i want to see lol.

    and yeah, they were okay, but i've improved now, and funny thing is that ROM hacking was so much fun when your still new to it.
    Lol i don't even want to remember my old maps, they were horrible, lol i'm not sure if you rated one of my maps, i deleted all of them from the map rating thread. :P

    I use the best "unnoticed" method for inserting tiles, the most effective one, by the way. Its hard to tell, I will have to make two tuts, one on tile inserting, other on cry inserting.

    Irfanview only indexes to 4 BPP (multiples of 4), whereas tiles need to be a multiple of 8. So you've recolored everything yourself, too?
    I put off inserting the flowers for a long time too, because I was getting an error in Animation Editor.

    And is there any quicker way to recolor some of zein's tiles to work in GBA? I'm probably asking an obvious question, but I'm just wondering.
    Edit the animated tall grass tiles, don't make a new one, unless you know how to.

    Or at least that's what I did.
    You could always ask someone else to help you with graphics. :P I'm terrible with them too. D: So are you using multiple trees from zein's tileset? I think I saw a screenies of your hack somewhere with multiple trees, or maybe that was just me.

    Well could you tell me in which order you inserted them? I think I put them in the wrong order. D:

    And no, I didn't use a hex editor, I just had to completely redraw all the frames in animation editor, rather than inserting the images. I probably should have phrased that better.

    And could you show me a gif file or something that shows the flower moving? My flower looks strange, somehow. D:
