They probably either A. Didn't want Ash to dominate every match or B. Didn't want Ash to get rid of Pikachu because he's too strong. (Ash starts over in every region and deposits his "strong" pokemon)

Hmm I kept my Blaze and Infernape. But I ditched my Typhlosion ASAP. To this day, I still don't know why I did that.

The difficulty level was mine. In pearl all you need to win the game is a lvl 60 Infernape and a level 55 Palkia. In Diamond, I had to get all of these pokemon because Dialga was so horrible at defeating the elite four.

I loved the story, hated the fact that all gym leaders so far (I'm at the fifth gym) had 3 or less pokemon, and hated the fact that you battle Cheren right after leaving the city.

Honestly, I don't catch the legendaries, my friend does. He is extremely lucky because somehow, he caught them all with a pokeball. (How does he do that?)

I chose tepig so I got pansage. I do use it to battle Cheren or to counter any ground or water types.
