Well I can look up your shiny value if you are able to trade me a pokemon and I can view it's SV with Instacheck. Also if you want to hatch your Scyther shiny, you will need to match the SV of that pokemon with someone else who can hatch that shiny for you.

Yeah especially fighting in game if your team isn't EV trained or anything too. As everyone else said too Normal and Water are the most common types IMO. Personally I love fighting type pokemon, always interesting to see what mons are on what routes in new games.
