I think it's because of the button combo involved with Lloyd's MA in Symphonia. There's just no way he'd do that particular set of movements on his own right. Yeah, I think so. But DotNW was a rushed game so I could see how they just put in that form of execution without developing it. But...

The internal battery ran out. I think you can open these things up and replace them though. Takes some specialized tools though. As for the batteries, I've seen 'em around in Wal-Mart and the like.
