Like everyone said, the soonest Ice move you can get Squirtle is TM13 Ice Beam. By the sounds of it, though, you're too early in the game, so you're better off training a Spearow or something just for this battle. T_T

Sleep does give you a higher chance, but, yeah, not permanent, so I usually use Paralysis just because it lasts the whole battle. >_> Just be patient, I had many "fun" "adventures" catching the Regis too. >_>

I always liked the PokeSpecial idea of Silver being Sakaki's son better than the idea of Satoshi being his son. ;_; I know PokeSpecial canon =/= anime canon, but yeeeeah. It's also implied in FRLG that Silver is his son, too. ;P

My Silver and Crystal's batteries work fine (the clock is a little slow in Silver though), but my brother's Crystal clock only runs while he's playing. The clock battery for my Ruby is dried up too :/

I never really nickname my Pokémon, but my friend says I should. He says calling a Pokémon by its species name is like calling your friend "human". xD
