    Introduction

    If you've been watching the hacking community for a while you'll know I officially started this ROM 5 years ago. I decided to go back and finish the alpha but my repo was a bunch of spaghetti code that even I couldn't decipher, having had stuff in my personal life get in the way I couldn't complete it those years ago. This version was rebuilt from the ground up and is much cleaner overall.
    I hope this new experience and fun way to play Pokemon reaches you well! Any bugs/glitches please let the team know here.

    Story

    It has been 50 years since Giovanni successfully created his abominable clone using Mew DNA...Known by his followers as "Mew-X". After his unsuccessful attempts at controlling his first creation, "Mewtwo", he sought to use Mew-X to destroy it. The battle that ensued was so fierce, it caused explosions and ripples through the time vortex itself, completely transforming the landscape and preventing Red from ever being born.

    You, the middle child of a Professor who recently believes he has cracked the secret to time travel, must set out to go back in time and stop Giovanni from creating Mew-X in the first place..in order for time to run properly again and our hero Red can be born to save the day!

    Oh...and you have a VERY annoying little sister who thinks only of herself...can she be saved from narcissism also?

    1. Time Travel

      By using the portable Time Shard device, you are able to travel back in time to how Kanto was 10 years before R/B/Y's events and back to the future again, as long as you're outside! (If you've played Zelda: Oracle of Ages the functionality is the same)
    2. Fairy Type
      Added the Fairy type, one particular Gym in the future will be Fairy based.
    3. New Pokemon and Evolutions of the first 151 (based on prototypes)
      Some Pokemon evolve differently in the past and the future. There's also some completely new mons based on beta mons!
    4. Running Shoes
      Hold B for profit.
    5. 16 Gym Badges and Elite Four to battle in the past
      Including a new window of the trainer card so you can see what badges you have left to collect (and non-linear in order after the first 2 badges!)
    6. New unique remixes of familiar songs and new custom music
    7. Level scaling
      All battles will be level scaled to your strongest Pokemon!
    8. Generation 6 Experience Share

    Future Features

    1. Customizable Character
      Choose a sprite of your liking and a unique "character trait" for different playstyles
    2. Customizable House
      "Bill's Garden" will now serve as your own unique base which you can customize in terms of map and invite gym leaders you've defeated to visit for a rematch!

    Great to see that you've finally managed to release this ROM hack, even though it's only just an alpha. How far can you go? How many Gyms can you currently challenge?

    There is one gym in the past and one gym in the future. It's all pretty self contained as once you beat the second gym thats available in this alpha, upon next release a new HM is given which will allow you to go many different routes and directions. The level scaling system allows me to make large portions of the game fairly open world.

  • I am so excited to play this! Looks fantastic. GBC hacks have been super good lately. I can absolutely see this being in my top 5 GBC hacks. Keeps up the fantastic work!

    Can you make it super easy to reset the real-time clock in a future update? No crazy passwords, just a simple button input on the main menu?

    Looking for a quick fix, in case of daylight savings time.
    oh yeah ofcourse, because you dont have the whole Mom speech DST is not accounted for. I do want to eventually remove RTC functionality altogether as I personally dont like it, and with time travel as the main mechanic its a bit weird that it's always the same time of day when traveling.


    In other news: Alpha 2.0 is almost ready. Just map work and event scripting to do.

    Uploaded Alpha 1.5, there was a game breaking bug which stopped progression completely. It's incomplete towards the end but gives you a taste of what I had planned for Alpha 2.0.

    Maybe when time traveling, you could choose which time you wanted to arrive, using the same input prompt that the built-in clock reset function uses?
