  • I restart my games all the time!

Usually what I'll do is I'll play and complete one of the games and move on to another. Then, sometime later, I'll come back to the game and restart the adventure all over again. I never, though, restart the same game right after I complete it.

  • Noo restarting for me because I always attempt to complete my National Dex. I do hate it if I go back to a game half way through after like 3 months and completely forget what I was doing though - in that case I might restart. But if I've finished the E4 and I'm just breeding and catching then no :)

I don't restart unless it's an extra copy of a region I already have a permanent copy for. So for Johto I kept my save on Silver and restarted Gold and Crystal. The only exception to this is White which I have restarted twice now despite me not having a Black Version (but I do have Black 2 which works well enough).

I've only ever restarted once, and that was Diamond because I picked Piplup and regretted it. Otherwise, I never have the heart to restart my game and lose everything from it. That's why I usually buy both versions of the games; so I can play it again, do some things differently, yet keep my original progress on the other cartridge.

  • I don't normally restart my games cause of all the memories I have on my games and all the progress I make on my save files. It makes it too hard to restart cause of all progress I made that I don't want to lose. Plus I'm too lazy to bother with transferring all the time.

I do however restart the games on the GBA cartridges, since I use them for challenge runs and once I finish the challenges, I transfer them to either my Heart Gold or Diamond version.

This too. I only tend to restart my GBA games for some reason but I've never really done a challenge. Though I plan to restart my Firered soon and start a challenge. Plus it's easier to transfer Pokemon from the GBA games to the DS games too cause it doesn't require too DSes or a DS and a Gameboy.

The only time I really restart most Pokemon games is if I'm not that far and want to change something like my starter choice or my PC's name or if I have the other version. Like I plan to buy a copy of Soulsilver soon which I won't mind restarting cause I've already played through HeartGold.

  • If I have a special Pokemon like a shiny or a Pokemon that I can't seem to lose, then the save file is pretty much permanent and well..I can just buy a new game. xD No need to lose precious Pokemon! I only restart when I don't have Pokemon that need to be saved. lol

Like my White save, I can't risk overwriting it. I have a shiny Sceptile, seven of the eight Eeveelutions, and a Meganium I got from a trade. I'll get Black or another White game, that's it. :P

  • When I first started playing Pokémon, at a point I had six members on my team and went on to catch a seventh pokémon that I really wanted. Upon being told it had been transferred to "Someone's PC", I panicked, wondering if I would have to go through the entire region to find this person's PC. Failing to notice how illogical my pokémon being transferred to a randomer's computer would be, I restarted the game. :(

Haven't done it since, as I adore the post-game stuff and would hate to lose everything I've collected.

  • I usually restart after a certain point. I save some of the stuff I have obtained (like if I am lucky and have a shiny or an event) I try to save it but other than that I generally restart after defeating the Elite 4 a few times.

Like a few other people, I restart my games and keep a collection of pokemon on 'home cartridges'. I typically get a team of 6 pokemon to level 100, swap them over, and start the game again later.

  • I don't restart my games much. Well, since I play most of my games after DPPt on an emulator on my laptop, there are save states and load states which enable me to save more than one game on each respective version, so I don't have any reason to restart. I usually have attachments to my Pokemon on each game, so restarting kinda hurts. I only restart if the starter I chose didn't live up to my expectations or if I didn't like my team.

  • It's just a game lol, I restart all the time because I get bored and so I can collect all the badges and see the in-game events again.

  • It's a real shame that to create a new profile you either have to restart and go through the story again or waste some of your cash to buy a copy. :( Anyway, I do tend to restart quite often, but really only if I feel the need to play a different Pokemon. Trading isn't my interest.

  • My policy on restarting is simple:

    >Before restarting, all legendaries must be caught.
    >All Pokemon must be transferred that hold any sentimental value.

That's basically it. I never develop a "bond" with my files, just the Pokemon, and I end up transferring those so that I can keep them instead of losing them.

Restarting a Pokémon game file is pretty difficult for me to do. I feel like I've invested alot of time into my games and that it would all go to waste if I start over.

It's pretty easy to do so, especially if you screwed up on your starter choice, or failed to catch a legendary. Only issue would be the event legendaries, and thankfully I had none up till now.

Unless I am playing emerald and have access to the battle frontier, I restart and change the starters to make it more interesting, beldum was a nice starter and so was larvitar.

  • I restart all the time. I never really go for the national dex, so that isn't a problem. And the team I have can be re-made.

  • Normally I won't restart, instead I'll just buy another copy of the game.

I did make an exception when my grandma bought me Pokemon White. I restarted my Black2 game after defeating Elite 4. I just wanted to play White game with both Snivy and Oshawott in the same team - and as I could trade I traded Oshawott with some random Pokemon (I think it was a Patrat or Lilipup).

Restarted Black2 again, and now I"m equal on both games (got the 5th badge).

After this I will just buy another copy of Black2 or White instead of restarting. So to answer question:

    Restarting? No.

I do enjoy collecting, and sometimes trading. But I restart my game, pretty much right after I beat the game, lol. I usually enjoy raising my Pokemon the first time, so to be able to do it again is great.
