This may be posted in the wrong area, I searched around the forums, and wasnt sure where to pose this question. If it fits in a better thread, someone please do move this. Thanks!

Now on to my question.

I read online that it was possible to trade using one Nintendo DS, using the GTS. You request a pokemon, pop in another cartridge fufill that request, and then the pokemon gets swapped between the two games.

I tested out the GTS using my pokemon white 2, and it seems I can only request pokemon that are in my pokedex.

So with the upcoming X/Y generation coming up, would it be possible using the GTS to transfer my pokemon from my white 2 game to the X/Y generation (using the gts)

Thanks again, and if I am posing the question in the wrong place i apologize

Not using the GTS, no. It's unlikely.

If you are allowed to transfer your Pokémon across at all, it'll likely be from the use of a similar feature to the Pokétransfer or Pal Park.

The GTS's are all on separate servers. There is one specifically for all Gen 4 games, one specifically for all Gen 5 games, and there will be a new one for all Gen 6 games. Trading through in game GTS will not be possible over generations gaps.

For any further questions when it concerns more than one game/generation, please use the Pokemon Gaming Central Forum.

If you have any further questions about the Gen 6 GTS I believe there is a thread in the Pokemon X and Y forum. If not you should be able to start one.
