Welcome to the Novia region; a rather newly established region in the world that is really starting to shine. You are a new trainer that, along with several others, has just received your first Pokémon from Professor Palm, an up-and-coming young scientist who lives in your home town, Coriolis Town.

You and the others from the town will compete for a place, and then compete in, the prestigious Novia League. On your journey you will come into contact with the others from Coriolis Town as well as other people from around the region. On your journey you will make friends and enemies, earn badges and learn life lessons. What kind of a trainer will you become? Will you be the champion of the Novia League?

History of Novia

  • Millions of years earlier – A meteor impacts the earth resulting in a crater that Charzian and Magmoria sit within. It is unknown whether this impact had anything to do with the formation of the islands.
  • 12 000 years earlier than the RP – The first tribes appear in the Novian islands.
  • 10 000 years earlier – The tribes of Arcania, Camuran, Charzian and Magmoria are fully fledged civilisations.
  • 8000 years earlier – Mt. Anubis erupts.
  • 6000 years earlier – the tribes of Camuran and Charzian war.
  • 5980 years earlier – a peaceful arrangement between the two is made
  • 4900 years earlier – the bells and chimes of Carillion Forest are hung and the shrine in Surreal Forest is erected.
  • 1000 years earlier – Darkrai and Crescelia are seen in the islands.
  • 500 years earlier – The two are no longer seen.
  • 480 years earlier – The islands are discovered by immigrants succeeding from the Hoenn region and colonised resulting in warring between tribes and colonists.
  • 300 years earlier – A peaceful agreement is reached between tribes and colonists.
  • 10 years earlier – The Unity movement is formed
  • 3.5 years earlier – The Novia Region is formed and officially recognised as a single nation.
  • 2.5 years earlier – The gyms for the Novia league are renovated/built.
  • 2 years earlier – The first Novia league begins and is won by a native of the Hoenn region.

Abel Rhodes - Chapter 1 - Part 1

Team
Spoiler:

Abel walked through his small home town, Coriolis town, with his new pokemon parter, a male trapinch he named Darner at his side, both with matching grins. The two had instantly clicked when they met each other at Professor Palms laboratory near the town centre. He remembered the experience fondly, even though it had only occurred a little while ago. He had walked into the Professors lab to find himself surrounded by many other new trainers, most of which were near his age. A large group of pokemon who were available as starters were revealed to the group. Most hadn't paid the strange looking little ground type any attention but Abel had found himself drawn to it's goofy grin, that despite it's large jaws he somehow still managed to display. He had chosen it without a further thought and then enjoying his time with his new found friend had introduced Darner to his family before setting out on his journey to tearful goodbyes.

Abel snapped out of his thoughts to find himself nearing the towns entrance where a large sign read "Thank you for visiting Coriolis Town", the other side of it, as Abel new well, read "Welcome to Coriolis Town". He never knew why they bothered with the script on his side, since few people actually visited the small town, despite it's beautiful view of the ocean from it's beaches. Reaching the entrance, or rather for him; the exit, of the town. Turning he took one last look at the place he had spent all of his life and then, at the urging of his new parter, he turned and headed out onto the Novia Region's route 1 with a grin on his face
"Well Darner, this is the beginning of what promises to be an interesting experience" he said to the orange pokemon walking next to him
"Trap-Trapinch" replied the pokemon, of course, only able to speak its name but clearly agreeing.

Abel and Darner walked across the route as Swablu and Spearow flocks flew overhead and small normal-types ran amok in the fields and soon his home was far behind him, but he still had a long way to go.

Glyn Schaffer - Chapter 1 - Part 1

team:
Spoiler:

"A Tympole? That's what you picked?" Glyn's sister was visually trying her best not to burst out into a shattering laughter when he showed his family the starter pokémon he picked. "Meryl, don't be like that," her mother scolded her, but Glyn was unphased by her reaction. "You're gonna eat those words when he evolves into a Seismitoad. Besides, don't you think water types are fitting with me?" Glyn responded. He had just returned from the lab to get his starter pokémon to journey through Novia. He had waited for an adventure like this for half of his life, pretty much, and now it was finally happening to him. He beamed with pride to show off his very first pokémon companion to his parents and his sister, and to walk in the footsteps of his older brother Cornelius. "So what have you named him?" Glyn's father asked. Glyn ummed for a moment. "I haven't really thought of a name for him yet," he replied. "Oh, well, I think you and Tympole will make it far," Glyn's father smiled. "And I packed your bags for you. I've put in some fresh sandwiches for you to snack on when you're out of the house. I'm sure Cornelius would have loved to be here with you, but you know how busy he is nowadays," his mother added. Glyn never looked happier when he picked up his backpack and ungraciously swung the straps over his shoulder, and he called his Tympole back to his pokéball. "You sure you've got everything, honey? A map? Enough water? Cash to get around?" Glyn rolled his eyes and responded with a hug. Mothers were naturally worried, no matter his age, whether it was a 10 year old Cornelius 9 years ago, or a 17 year old Glyn. "I'm ready, mum," he said when he walked out of the open front door. Glyn and his family bid each other their goodbyes as Glyn accelerated his steps -- turning his gait brusquer and brusquer -- until he was practically sprinting, his feet levitating in the air and barely making contact with the ground. He ran through the streets of his familiar hometown, his arms outstretched like a jet about to fly to anywhereland, where tales are made. He felt he could just take off and fly right now as it was.

Glyn stopped by the exit sign of Coriolis town. There was no paved roadway that connected the agrestic coastal village with the rest of the island, but the prairie was outstretched, and practically devoid of obstructions. He held onto the cool metal sign, panting and looking out over what was there. He walked this route plenty of times when he was a student, to travel to his high school, but he never walked it as a trainer, and so the sense of novelty washed over him again. Small balls of pink barely managed to stick their heads up through the grass patches as they were running across, chasing each other in games of tag, while overhead, flocks of bird pokémon that nested on route 1 flew and made their distinctive calls. The peepings of the swablu, flapping their cloud-like wings, mingled with the shriller craws of the spearow. After catching his breath, Glyn entered route 1. He was eagre to find his first wild pokémon he could catch independently, and moreover test the skills of his Tympole.

Devon Hall - Chapter 1 - Part 1

team:
Spoiler:

"I'm surprised that nobody picked you," said a multiracial boy as he glanced behind his shoulder, looking at the laboratory one more time before turning towards the red-and-white pokeball in his hands. "You're as good as the rest! I guess fate wants us to be partners eh?"

Exiting the structure, Devon Hall smiled with anticipation as he hurled the ball onto the grass. The capsule device split into half and a blinding red beam bolted out from the center, landing on a random spot beside it. In no longer than two seconds, a Litwick was hovering at his feet, looking at its new trainer with a pair of curious eyes.

"Hey, lil' guy!" Devon grinned and knelt down in front of his candle Pokemon. "Name's Devon. I'm your new trainer from now on."

The Litwick blinked and levitated himself higher into the air, hovering around the boy as if he was examining him. Then, when the Pokemon seemed satisfied with his new master, he landed on Devon's shoulder and reduced his flame by just a little; after all, he didn't want to burn his trainer on the first day.

It took Devon a couple of seconds to adjust himself to the sudden weight, but soon, after only a couple minutes of walking, both of them had already created an indescribable bond between them. Spotting the 'Welcome to Coriolis Town' sign only twenty meters away, the trainer came up with a question and glanced at the Litwick beside him. "Hmm...you don't have a name do you?"

"Lit..." he replied gloomily with a sigh of disappointment.

Devon reassured him with a heart-warming smile. "Well, I'll have the pleasure of naming you then."

Upon hearing his trainer's reply, the Litwick brightened up and smiled back, the blue flame on his head waving back and forth as if he was making it wag in a dog-like fashion. Devon looked away, holding in a chuckle and murmured out his decision. "You know what? Since you're related to fire and you were kindled by my replies...Kindle would be a perfect name for you, no?"

"Litwick!"

Resisting the urge to hug his companion (because he'd get burned), Devon looked up ahead and started his first journey with high hopes. "I'll take that as a yes, then!"

Abel Rhodes - Chapter 1 - Part 2

Team
Spoiler:

Abel hadn't been walking for too long really, although Coriolis town was now just a small visage in the distance behind him. His stomach growling like a mightyena he decided that it was time for him to take a break
"hungry buddy?" he asked Darner who had been eyeing a group of Ceffa and Igglybuff with curiosity
"TRAP!" he responded enthusiastically, clearly he got what hungry meant.

Abel and his companion walked over to the shade of one of the plains few trees that stood on a small incline in the ground, surrounded by flowers. Sitting down and digging into his bag for a pre-made sandwich for himself and a some pokemon food for Darner he took in the beautiful site around him
"Incredible" he said to nobody in particular as he placed a bowl of food in front of Darner, who immediately began to chow down on the granules, having some difficulty with his large jaws. Abel went to take a bite of the sandwich in his other hand only to see... it wasn't there any more.
"Uh... Darner?"
"Trap?" the ground-type responded with an innocent look his face still buried in his bowl
"Okay then...". That was then a third voice spoke up
"Iggly" a little, round pink pokemon had stolen the bread straight from Abel's hand without him even noticing, dumbfounding Abel as it munched on it's stolen snack and irritating Darner, who liked food and didn't appreciate his... or rather Abel's being stolen
"Trapinch!" he quipped angrily as a a small sandstorm appeared in front of him, catching the spherical thief and throwing it.

It looked like Abel had his first battle on his hands, fine by him.
"Okay, wanna battle it then?"
Darner responded the affirmative with a nod of his head, nobody steals food from a trapinch. Nobody.

"Bite!" called Able, having studies his pokemon's moves way back in Coriolis town. Darner ran at the small pokemon opening his jaws and lunging at it when it got close. Instead of that working out in his favour however the small pokemon jumped to the side and unleashing a surprisingly powerful pound on Darner, who had crashed into the ground, by ramming it's small form into him. Dizzied Darner got to his feet, scowling at the pink pokemon.
"Sand-Attack" commanded Abel from his vantage point, looking to avoid another hit. The spray of sand hit the litle pokemon square on, stinging it's eyes and lowering its ability to hit accurately
"Now Bite!" Darner clamped its jaws hard on the Igglybuff caused it to cry out, its voice muffled and then... he let go, his mouth hanging open, staring at the, apparently female pokemon whose ability seemed to be Cute Charm. Then, to make things worse the pokemon Sweet Kissed Darner, leaving him both infatuated and confused... and nearly unable to battle.
"Snap out of it, one more hit should do it!" Abel encouraged his pokemon "Bite again!" Abel skook himself charging for the Igglybuff but it was too late, he ran straight into an Ice Beam.
"Darner! Are you okay?" Abel yelled out running towards his pokemon as it collapsed onto the ground shivering from the super effective move. The Igglybuff with the attitude problem ran of to join two other laughing
"You did fine for our first battle" he said to Darner consolingly as he sprayed him with a potion from his bag "we'll move on and try again later" he said returning the pokemon, its pride wounded, to its pokeball for a rest. Abel grabbed his bag and continued down the route, he hoped the other pokemon on the route didn't know ice moves, it did seem unlikely they would.

// CHAPTER ONE : PART ONE //
Sid Norm

Current team:
Spoiler:

"Come on out, Rocky!"

A huge red light flashed out of a thrown Pokeball and out came an Aron. It let out a battle-cry as it stopped its little legs into the ground.

"Nice, your getting used to it now! That's good to see!," exclaimed a middle-age-looking man, "Rocky looks ready for battle already, I can see just from his eyes! Bahaha!"

Rocky (Aron) turned to face the old man with a huge smile in his face. He clearly was enjoying the praise.

"Now, I hope you have remembered all the things I've told you about Aron, right? Remember the strategies I told you to use; they seem easy but they will win you tons of battles! You might not have much experience at all in battling, but that will come in time! Just go out there and remember to have a lot of fun!"

"You don't have to talk to me like I'm 10 dad, I can take care of myself." sighed Sid. Ever since Sid got an Aron (which was breeded from his dad's own Pokemon) for his 16th birthday last week his dad hadn't stopped talking about battling strategies and how to take care of Pokemon and such. Half the time he couldn't understand what his dad said - his never actually been involved in a Pokemon battle. He just wanted to go out there and experience everything for himself.

"Don't be so miserable Sid, this is your first day as a Pokemon trainer! I remember when I left Goldenrod City back in Johto to become a trainer myself. I had to take the Magnet Train all the way to New Bark Town just to get my first Pokemon! Your lucky your getting such a strong starter to start off with. Promise me, and also Aggron here, that you will take good care of Rocky?" said Brandon, lifting a Pokeball.

"Don't worry Aggron and dad; I'll keep Rocky on my side, always!" Sid replied. Rocky lifted his head up and cheered, happy with the answer given by his trainer. "Arrrroon!"

"The answer I was looking for! Bahaha!" laughed Brandon, shrinking his Aggron's Pokeball and putting it away. "Well, best you be off then. I heard some other trainers are also starting their journey today too. I bet no one got a Pokemon as strong as Rocky here though!"

Sid only replied with a grin. He called back Rocky into his Pokeball and pulled back the front door to his house, when suddenly-

"BRANDON!! WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP, YOU IDIOT!"

A screaming voice of a woman shot the whole house and Brandon jumped at the audacity of the scream. "Oh shoot, I forgot completely to wake your mom up!" panicked Brandon, struggling to quickly come up with an excuse. "She would have obviously wanted to bid you farewell as well!"

Sid let out a little giggle; he loved seeing his over-manly dad getting a whooping from his mom.

"BRANDON, HAS SID LEFT YET?! HIS FORGOTTEN TO PACK ALL THESE CLOTHES I BOUGHT FOR HIM!! WHAT ABOUT FOOD?! HAS HE BROUGHT ENOUGH FOR HIMSELF TILL HE GETS TO DEW TOWN?! BRANDOOON!"

"Calm yourself woman; the boy is still here, he hasn't set off yet."

A sound of quick footsteps came and went as a woman, which looked like she was in her early 40s, came and pinched the ear of Sid's dad.

"Brandon Lighting Norm, if I had known that you will not even bother to wake your wife up to bid farewell to her only son in his first day as a Pokemon trainer then I would of thought otherwise back when you proposed to me!"

"I'm sorry, I'M SORRY!" Brandon pleaded as he tried to pull himself away from his young-looking wife, "I didn't mean to keep you sleeping, I only forgot, I swear!"

"We sleep at the same bed for goodness sake! How could you forget?!" complained Tiffany, although she couldn't stop herself from smirking. She enjoyed the little authority she had over her husband.

Tiffany twisted her head to see her son, and dropped Brandon. Suddenly, she jumped towards Sid, took his backpack, and took out everything in there.

"Pokemon Food for Dummies... only this amount of socks?!... does this even still fit you?... knife and fork, check... Pokeballs..."

"Mom, I'm fine, everything's in there, you don't have to check, dad's already done that..."

"Huh, like your dad knows anything about organisation and what to take for his journey. His as bad as his famous cooking skills."

Sid laughed out loud while his dad started fuming. Brandon was terrible at cooking. "I'll have you know that I traveled all the way through Johto-"

"That's because I took care of you all the way!" said Tiffany, shaking her head, "anyways, I guess everything here is packed and ready to go, more or less." she added, zipping the yellow bag and handing it over to Sid. "You best be going now then, honey! Don't forget to call home or e-mail us from time to time!"

"I expect to see you with 8 badges next time you come back, son!" came a voice from behind. Brandon was back to his happy state.

"Don't worry dad, one day I'll return being better than that and become the Novia League champion!" said Sid, shifting his footsteps out of his house. "Me and Rocky are going to take these islands by storm!"

"Good luck honey! Don't forget to wash every now and then, keep calling us, don't forget about Pokemon Centres-"

"Don't worry mom! See ya!" grinned an excited Sid, as he started running towards the exit of Coriolis Town.

Brandon and Tiffany looked on, as their only child left home to become a Pokemon trainer. Tiffany sniffed and let out a tear. She wiped it as quickly as possible.

"I still remember us leaving Goldenrod City like yesterday, when he was just 5. He's grown so much."

"He'll be fine, him and Rocky has got mine and Aggron's fighting spirit! Nothing's going to stop him from being what he wants to be!"

"I know, but his grit determination can get better of him and put him into dangerous situations. I hope he comes back with only a few scars."

"You worry too much Tiff; that boy has got a talent for battle. I can sense it."

"I sure do hope so." sighed Tiffany. The couple closed their front door.

Taegan Power - Chapter 1 Part 1

------------------------------------------------------------------

Gem - (Synchronise) - Psybeam, Safeguard, Reflect, Double Team

Taegan took his time in Coriolis Town. It was his first time there since he was a young boy. Gem, the Elgyem, floating near him. "I don't understand why no one else picked you," he said, "who wouldn't want a Pokemon from space." Gem's finger-like digits lit up in a pattern making sounds. This is going to take some getting use to. Taegan thought.

When he was finished wandering the Town he noticed all the other Trainers had already left. "Best get going," he exclaimed, "wouldn't want to fall behind." he stopped briefly when he reached the town sign, "Thank you for visiting Coriolis Town", ahead was Route 1, Taegan had traveled through the route earlier today, beyond that his home Dew Town, "I don't plan on spending much time on this route or the next town." he said to Gem, the Cerebral Pokemon nodding in agreement.

They weren't together long but Taegan could tell they would be good friends. She was quiet like him, probably only because she couldn't speak with an actual voice. Taegan stepped forward, his journey was under way, he walked for a bit, to where he figured the middle of the Route was. "I'm pretty hungry, let's stop here for a snack." Again his partner simply nodded.

Taegan found a nice shady spot under a tree and pulled a salad and a sandwich out of his backpack. He searched a little longer and found the Pokemon food he had stored in there as well. Taegan wasn't to sure how an Elgyem ate but he figured Pokemon Food was the best choice, he placed the food in a bowl near the tree and began eating his own food.

He looked up at the sky and flock of Swablu flew over head. This is going to be great, he thought, I finally get to go out and see the world.

Glyn Schaffer - Chapter 1 - Part 2

team:
Spoiler:

"There's a brook around here somewhere, pretty sure," Glyn told himself. He had strayed off his usual schoolgoing course over route 1, and given how hard it was to get lost in the open plains with view over your entire surroundings, there was little harm to do so, he thought. There were a few landmarks dotting the prairie that he often used as navigation points in his weekday journeys to his school in Dew Town. Glyn was looking for a brook, so that he could call out his Tympole in a more comfortable environment for the aquatic pokémon. The cabbling of a slow current of water would be easy to pick up on, were it not for the heavy cawing of the Spearow, and the high-pitched peeps of the Swablu. Nonetheless, he found his resting stop for the afternoon: a meandering stream that ran along the pale of route 1. There was no bridge, as it did not hamper the way to any place of interest. The stream was shallow enough to ford, and it maintained an almost parallel course to the route between Dew and Coriolis. It was, however, an important lifeline for some of the wild pokémon that lived in the area, because it watered the vegetation, and gave the pokémon a place to drink and cool down in the warm temperatures.

Glyn called Tympole out of his pokéball. The tadpole pokémon was ejected from the device in a glowing white light and beamed towards the brook. "Hey there, Tympole," Glyn smiled, while lowering himself to sit at the bank. He then furrowed his brows. "I really still need to think of a name for you." "Tym Tym!" The tympole seemed unbothered by Glyn's ponderings and swam about in the water. "Tim? No, that's silly," Glyn had a half-baked grin on him. He took the straps of his bag off of his shoulders to open it up. He peeked inside and saw it loaded with all kinds of essentials: food for humans and food for pokémon, a water canister, a rain coat, clothing, a map of Novia, spare underwear -- even his favourite pokéball pattern one -- even the Mareep plushie he's had since a child and was so keen on keeping was in there. He was very froward in his appeal to keep it at his older age. It was the only thing he had that was his and his alone that reminded him of his Johto origins. Just south of his home, there was a whole ranch that specialised in Mareep wool. He often saw those pokémon when he passed the place. Yeah, most of his fond memories of Johto didn't really include other people, but the pokémon were there, and he wanted to travel after his brother and compete in the Johto league so bad, but then the family moved to Novia. "Mum's just gotta think of everything, right?" Glyn chuckled. He rummaged through the bag to fetch himself a sandwich and Tympole some of his own kind of food. The food looked like some sort of kibble. He guessed they must love it. He placed some food in a bowl close to the water's edge for Tympole. The blue tadpole hasted and he surfaced to chow down on the food. "Hungry much?" Glyn simpered after which he took a bite off of the homemade sandwich. Nothing's really able to quite equate the taste of something your own mother made.

"Right, Tympole. I think I should try and test your capabilities soon, if we're going to take on the Novia league," Glyn spoke to the eating tadpole pokémon. He stopped, with his palpuous cheeks full with food which he swallowed, and he listened carefully to his trainer. Glyn thought of Cornelius's story, how he started out on his journeys through Johto. By Arceus did he remember when Cornelius returned with 8 badges pinned to the inside of his jacket, and the whole family of course watched him participate in the Johto league. He made it all the way to the quarter finals, and mum and dad were so proud of him. He started out like a wee trainer too. It has to be baby steps at first: encountering a wild pokémon, battling it, catching it in one of those pokéballs and then training more. Glyn squinted his grey-blue eyes against the glaring sun when a bird cawed and landed by the bank on the other side of the brook. "You think you're up for it, Tympole?" he asked him. "Tymmm..." Tympole flapped his fin and submerged, belly up, and then resurfacing facing the bird at the other side of the brook.

"I wonder what the 'dex has to say about that pokémon," Glyn wondered aloud. He unpocketed the red digital encyclopedia. Its light turned on when he pointed it at the Spearow, before the computerised voice spoke aloud: "Spearow, a tiny bird pokémon. Unlike Pidgey, Spearow has a terrible attitude. It is very wild and will sometimes attack other Pokémon and humans." Glyn studied the picture of the Spearow that appeared on the screen and looked up again at the raptorial-looking real-life sample just across the brook, dipping and washing its head in the fresh water. "Seems like a challenge, Tympole. You think you can do it?" he asked. The Tympole, eagre of course to take on a challenge, trilled the palpes on his cheeks, and shot a half, self-assured grin. "It's happening then," Glyn said with a stern face.

Dan Miller - Chapter 1 - Part 1

Spoiler:

Dan left the lab with his Vanillite and went straight to his home to say goodbye to his parents. Vanillite was happy and was floating around, checking every thing he could see.Suddenly Dan stopped, took out his pokedex and scanned Vanillite. ''Now let's see what moves you have''.
''Vanillite, the Fresh Snow Pokémon. Vanillite's breath is more than fifty degrees below zero when it exhales, creating ice crystals and causing it to snow''. ''And your moves are - Ice shard, Harden, Mist, Water Pulse. Those are some pretty good moves there.'' Vanillite! the little guy said with exitement. Dan opened the door to his house and said.
''Im back''. The house was clean, it was not the biggest house, but it was good for Dan,he saw a note on the table it said ''Sorry i had to go to the Kanto region so quickly without saying anything, i hope you win the Novia Leauge. Signed Dad.'' Dan's mom went to the door and saw Vanillite floating. ''That's a cute pokemon you got, now be careful on your journey''.
''I will, goodbye mom'' Dan exited the house.
''Alright Vanillite, our journey starts now!'' Dan said as they went to route 1. They came to the entrance to route 1 and saw a flock of Spearow and Swablu flying.''I hope that means good luck'' Dan said. They saw a young man walking with a Aipom. He was quite happy, and was wearing weird glasses, they were shaped like an arm and they were big. Dan nervously asked the young man where to go if they want to get to Dew town.''Battle me and find out!!'' The young boy shouted.
''Alright... Well Vanillite this is our first battle so let's win this'' Dan replied.

And the battle begins.
Both Aipom and Vanillite look ready to do their best.''Vanillite use Ice shard'' Dan called out but the Aipom was fast and doged every one of the ice shards.''Now Aipom use swift and combine it with quick attack!!!'' The attacks were too quick and took a direct hit on Vanillite. ''Vanillite use Mist'' Dan quickly said. Out of Vanillite's mouth came out mist and the Aipom couldn't see where to hit.The mist was like a fog.''Vanillite use Water Pulse'' Dan calmly said. Vanillite quickly dose Water Pulse and it hits before Aipom could react.''Aipom use swift to clear the fog quick''. The swift also hit Vanillite and did a lot of damage, it looked like it was over.''Quick Vanillite get up you can do it use Ice shard'' but Vanillite just stayed down.''Aipom use Focus Punch''. Dan was scared he heard that this move can do a lot of damage, but then quickly Vanillite used Ice Shard, it was a critical hit, and it finished off Aipom.
''We did it Vanillite'' Dan happily said. The young man said ''You were good so, to get to Dew town just go straight and take the first right you see''
''Thank you''Dan said as he was beginning to be not afraid of people anymore, but he was still scared of them. As they were walking Dan saw that Vanillite was looking weak and thought that that attack took a lot of damage on it.''Vanillite return'' Dan returned Vanillite to it's pokeball and continued to Dew town

Abel Rhodes - Chapter 1 - Part 3

Team
Spoiler:

Abel walked the fields of Route One alone except for his thoughts and for Darner, who was still resting within his pokeball, pondering his earlier defeat to the tiny, but shockingly strong, Igglybuff. He hoped to come across it again one day, but was mostly focussed on improving, he wanted to know why he had lost so easily.
What did I do wrong? The answer came to him as clear as day, he'd be kidding himself if he denied its validity; he had rushed into battle aggressively with no strategy, he had not been himself and that was why the pokemon had curb-stomped Darner. He'd be careful not to lose so easily again.

Abel walked on, deep in thought. Perhaps too deep as he failed to notice the flurry of motion heading towards him until it nearly bowled him over. A blue, fluffy-winged bird pokemon that Abel recognised as a swablu hurtled past, inches in front of him pursued by an angry brown bird with far shaper featured. The swablu seemed to have done something to anger the bird, which had a reputation amongst travellers for being easily annoyed.

The two flying types whirled around in circles around Abel, the spearow ferociously pursuing the other bird. Abel was entranced at the majesty of the two birds. Too entranced for his own good, as per usual. In mid lap the birds changed direction and flew directly at Abel. The swablu collided with him and as Abel instinctively wrapped his arms around the azure bird instinctively he fell to the ground. The spearow flew over his head and circled back around to face him on the path.

Abel let the disoriented swablu go and it flew off at a rapid pace, the spearow didn't continue the chase as he thought it would though, its intense glare remained on Abel as he got to his feet, eyeing the trainer with intensity. Abel smiled, he knew this was his opportunity to redeem himself.
"Darner, let's go" Abel called on the ground-type
"Trap!" Darner yelled, rejuvenated after a long rest
"We're going to catch this spearow" explained Abel. Darner nodded it's acknowledgement.

Abel wasn't sure how he was going to win the battle though, Spearow were not only immune to Sand Tomb but almost all of them had Keen Eye as an ability, which meant that Sand-Attack wasn't an option either. That left Bite and Protect.
"Bite!" Darner charged at the tiny bird pokemon but he wasn't quick enough, the spearow flapped it's wings and quickly was above the attack. Darner hit the ground hard and to make things worse there was a loud cawing noise as the bird plummeted towards Darner about to hit him with a strong Peck. abel had to think quick.
"Quick! Roll to the side", Darner obeyed rolling to the side onto his feet casing his attacker to crash head-first into the ground. Spearow was resilient though; it unleashed a loud, shrieking noise from the ground. Its Growl lowering Darners offensive power as the spearow fluttered to its feet immediately launching another Peck attack at close range.
"Protect!" Spearow crashed into the green protective bubble that encased Darner at the command it tried to regain its altitude, the biggest advantage it had in this battle, but Abel wasn't going to give it the opportunity
"Bite its foot!" he commanded Darner who immediately followed through with the attack as the barrier faded. He lunged at the ascending bird clamping its jaws down on it's tiny leg and pulling it back towards the ground. The bird pokemon responded by bombarding Darner with Peck after Peck, fighting to get back into the sky, but strangely seeming to enjoy the challenge. Darner winced at the repeated jabs from the spearow's hard, pointed beak.

He can't keep this up... but I'm out of moves Abel thought to himself. He watched in awe of his pokemon's determination and that of the spearow he sought to add to his team... what could he do. Then the idea hit him.
"Throw it to the ground!" Darner whipped his head back in a sudden display of strength, pulling the spearow along with the motion before flinging is forward and opening his powerful jaws sending his opponent hurtling into the ground. Not somewhere most flying types were comfortable being in a battle. But still the spearow wanted to fight on, it fought to it's feet staring Darner down all the while. That's when something Abel hadn't expected happened. It closed its eyes.

For a short while nothing happened, but then a faint light encompassed the body of the spearow. Abel had seen this on TV before... what was it?
Sky Attack he realised Oh no
"Darner! Bite it and fast!" he yelled in desperation but there was no way that the pokemon's stubby legs could cover that distance. Darner ran at top speed towards the bird, but it was too late. The spearow suddenly oppened its eyes and its wings hurtling towards Darner from within a blazing, glowing aura
"Protect, quick!" Darner skidded to a halt standing firm as the bird rushed towards him, and then at just the right moment the green barrier encircled him again. The spearow collided with the new obstacle at a high velocity and fell towards the ground
"Throw it like before". Again Darner did as he was told throwing the spearow to the ground hard. Abel knew he'd won the battle, but that wasn't the end of this. He threw an empty pokeball at the twitching bird, drawing it within in a flash of red light.

The ball lay on the ground wobbling
"Come on" pleaded Abel, an characteristic intensity on his face and in his voice as both he and Darner stared at the ball.

Taegan Power - Chapter 1 Part 2

------------------------------------------------------------------

Gem - (Synchronise) - Psybeam, Safeguard, Reflect, Double Team

Taegan finished his food but Gem still had half of hers left. "Alright, while you finish eating let's see what you can do." he said while reaching for his Pokedex and scanning the Elgyem. "Elgyem, the Cerebral Pokémon. Elgyem was first discovered when it emerged from deep within the desert 50 years ago. Your Elgyem's moves are; Psybeam, Safeguard, Reflect, Double Team and her Special Ability is Synchronise which passes on status problems to the opponent that caused the problem. Synchronize will not pass on the Sleep or Frozen status conditions, or if the status condition was obtained from items such as the Flame Orb. Synchronize will have no effect if the other Pokémon has a type or Ability that prevents them from being Poisoned, Paralyzed, or Burned. The badly poisoned condition is passed on as bad poison."

"Huh, only one offensive move? Guess we have to battle defensively most of the time until we get another." "Elgyem!" Gem exclaimed as she finished her food. Taegan could here the sounds of battle in the distance. "Let's get going," he said, "The sooner we get to Dew Town the better, besides, I left most of my supplies home." he had what he needed for today, but he wasn't prepared for a night out, all his gear was packed at home waiting to be grabbed on the way through town.

Taegan stood and began walking again, Gem floating closely behind. He saw wild Pokemon here and there but had no interest in them at this moment in time, if one attacked he'd be ready to defend but he really just wanted to get home and prepare for his journeys true beginning. Which didn't start until he got past Dew Town.

// CHAPTER ONE : PART TWO //
Sid Norm

Current team
Spoiler:

"Thank you for visiting Coriolis Town!"

Sid looked at the large sign that was put in the one main entrance and exit of the town. He then looked back at his house, scoping towards the other houses, Professor Palm's lab, and then finally outside the entrance and towards Route 1. Leaning back and stretching his arms, Sid let out a huge sigh and then a smile. "This is it. Time to get out there and fulfill my dream" he said, a determined look to his face.

Checking his belt, Sid took out Rocky's Pokeball and called the little Pokemon out. "Aaaarooon!" squealed Rocky, landing next to Sid.

"I thought we should take the first steps of our journey together rather than having you being here in this Pokeball. Whatdya think?"
"Arr!" replied Rocky, agreeing with his trainer. He seemed to enjoy being outside rather than in a Pokeball.
"Aight, let's go!"

And with that, Sid and Rocky walked out of Coriolis Town and into Route 1.

----

Before long, Coriolis Town became a distant, small mirage-like image from where Sid was standing as he stopped to eat. It had been an hour since he left home but already he was feeling hungry, even though he had breakfast only a couple of hours ago. Rocky, who had been allowed to walk alongside Sid ever since they left Coriolis Town, settled down with his trainer. His big, blue eyes wondered around the vast scenery; it was the first time he had ever seen anywhere other than Sid's house. Many wild Pokemon, including the likes of Cleffa and Togepi, was darting around in the background, in groups or alone. The flower petals swayed peacefully, and the few trees stood tall and firm. Route 1 was vast and beautiful, with huge space for Pokemon to live in.

"Wow, Dew Town was further than I thought; I thought we would of seen it by now," said Sid, "but then again it was dad who said that I should reach Dew Town in no time. For all I know that crazy man could of sprinted all the way!" Sid let out a little laugh at the thought, then sat down and searched his backpack for a sandwich.

"Let's see here... aha! Rocky, you hungry bud? 'Cause I've got what you like right here!" Sid managed to bring out scrapes of old metal that his dad had put together specifically so that an Aron was able to have what he normally ate. Rocky replied happily with an "Arron!" although inside he was hoping more for something that wasn't a little rusted. But for a snack, he thought, this would do fine. Sid brought out a sandwich afterwards and the trainer and Pokemon ate together happily, gazing out into the scenery.

"This sure is beau-"

Then suddenly, in a swift motion, a bird-like creature came in and snatched the sandwich in Sid's hand.

"What the- HEY! I WAS EATING THAT!"

Nibbling the pickle sandwich as it flew and settling onto the nearest tree branch, a wild Spearow threw the remaining sandwich in the air and gobbled it all up mid-air, finishing with a little burp and a satisfied smile.

"Are you actually seri- that's it, Rocky GO!"

Understanding the situation, Rocky let go of the scrap metal he was chewing and made a battling stance. It was his and Sid's first ever battle together, a moment he had been waiting for - he had already heard about it through his own dad Aggron's words about his many battles with Sid's dad Brandon and was excited by how battle looked and felt like. "Aaaarron!" squealed Rocky, waiting for his trainer's command. Suddenly aware it was being challenged, the wild Spearow came down from the branch and started squeaking towards Rocky and Sid, waiting for them to attack.

"Ok, if I can remember the moves of Rocky, the attacking ones were Tackle and Mud-Slap... aight, let's start off with a Tackle!" Rocky nodded towards Sid and charged towards the wild Spearow, who took in the the move and swiftly used it's beak to Peck Rocky. "Flying is ineffective towards Rock and Steel type, so Rocky shouldn't even flinch from that! Hit it with another tackle!"

Rocky again charged towards the wild Spearow, but this time Spearow rose upwards with speed and dodged the attack, and then landed another Peck against Rocky. "Is that all you can do?" laughed Sid, enjoying the type advantage over the bird, "Rocky, this time use Mud Slap to blind that Spearow!" The Aron dug into the ground below it and started to spray mud all over the Spearow's face. Staggering backwards and forwards in flight, the bird Pokemon couldn't see clearly and so missed it's Peck attack by a considerable distance.

"Ok, let's finish this off with a final Tackle Rocky!" roared Sid, punching the air towards the helpless Spearow, who was now trying to clear the mud out of it's face. Before it could finish however, Rocky had smashed into it and the Spearow bounced backwards and lied face down on the ground. A few seconds afterwards a red-and-white ball burst open and took in the Spearow with a brilliant red light and started shaking. Sid held his fists, hoping that the catch was successful. He had done everything his dad had told him; he had weakened the Pokemon but not fainted it, and had successfully thrown the Pokeball towards the wild Spearow. Now all he had to do was wait.

The Pokeball kept shaking. The tension grew as Rocky and Sid concentrated their thoughts on the shaking Pokeball. Why was it taking so long?

Then suddenly, the ball burst open again and the Spearow came out flying, hurt but still with some energy left in it. It was angry at Sid for trying to catch it. "How the- how did it not stay in the Pokeball?!" said Sid, confused by what was happening. He was sure he had done everything right, so how could it still be flying? The wild Spearow let out a couple of squeaks to the opposite direction of Sid and Rocky and towards the trees. A muffled sound came out; the trees started rustling harder than normal. "Ooooh crap, that can't be good..." Shuffling backwards, Sid took out Rocky's Pokeball and returned him. The rustling of the trees turned into a whole lot more as more and more noise came out.

Then a herd of Spearows jumped out as the result of the noise on the trees and joined the Spearow that Sid had fought. After an exchange of squeaks, the flock of Spearows locked their sight towards Sid, having the same angered face that the recently fought Spearow had when it burst out of the Pokeball. Sid didn't need explaining what was going to happen next and started sprinting; the Spearows shortly afterwards gave chase after him.

This wasn't exactly what Sid was hoping for from his first battle.

Devon Hall - Chapter 1 - Part 2

team:
Spoiler:

As Devon continued with his journey, a patch of longish grass came into sight. Knowing that wild Pokemon would appear close by, a sudden surge of excitement took over him like a tidal wave "Kindle? Maybe we should have our first battle over there..."

The Litwick blinked and hovered off his master's shoulder, glaring at the hostile plants that intimidated him by swaying against the breeze. Personally, he wasn't too sure about this. After all, he hadn't fought in his entire life before; how could he possibly win? The candle Pokemon spun around and looked at Devon, his eyes cloaked with fear. "Lit!"

Acknowledging that as a 'no', Devon frowned and extended his hand, allowing Kindle to land on of his palm. "Well, we're gonna have to sooner or later. This might be a good opportunity."

After a few seconds of hesitation, the Litwick smiled with confidence and trust. "Lit."

Devon beamed with pride and stepped into the large field of green. "Let's get to it th-"

The trainer was cut off when a series of suspicious rustles grabbed his attention, causing him to tense up with his eyeballs shifting from side to side. "Company so soon eh, Kindle?"

There was no reply. The Litwick lifted himself into the air and led the way, pushing his small body through the walls of grass. Surprised to see another side of his Pokemon, Devon narrowed his eyes and tailed behind him, ready to let out his first battle command. Soon enough a female Swablu, who was pecking the soil to find food, came into view, which sparked up the adrenaline in both human and partner alike. With no time to waste, Devon opened his mouth and pointed at his target. "K-Kindle! Will-O-Wisp!"

Rather startled to hear such a sudden command, it took Kindle a couple of seconds for the words to sink in. Quickly after, though, he was able to obey without hesitation. A ball of intense fire formed before the Litwick's body, growing until it was nearly as large as the Pokemon itself. Then, Kindle launched it with a burst of his willpower, sending it flying until it crashed against the Swablu's body and catching it by surprise.

"SWABLU!" she wailed, wincing in pain with the burn stinting like a thousand needles. Flapping its wings, the Swablu attempted to escape but had difficulty doing so as the Will-O-Wisp attack had spread to her wings, temporarily disabling her ability to fly. Seeing this chance, Devon quickly followed up with another command, hoping to end this quickly without bringing her a large amount of pain. "Night Shade, Kindle!"

Kindle's reaction time had improved. Cloaking himself with dark energies, the Litwick dashed forward in order to collide with his enemy, only to halt in surprise as the Swablu let out a Growl attack, forcing him to hover back upon hearing her hostile cry.

"Kindle, don't let her Growl confuse you!"

It was too late - the Swablu had recovered enough from the burn to move again and had already prepared its next attack. Lunging forward with a sharpened beak, the bird Pokemon struck Kindle at the heart, causing him to stumble back with a groan of discomfort. Though the Litwick had a slightly discouraged look on his face, Devon was glad that he was willing to fight back at all costs; it was definitely quite a feat for a newbie.

"Disable her with Ember! Just one more!"

Struggling in the air, Kindle managed a nod and released a small torrent of flames from the candlelight on his head while withstanding the soreness within him. Thankfully, the attack hadn't missed, and the Swablu let out a final whimper as she collapsed onto the grass, struggling helplessly with a pair of injured wings.

"I-I'm sorry, but I'll make it up to you somehow," said Devon as he walked towards the dragon-to-be while chucking a vacant Pokeball onto the floor beside her. "Please don't be mad..."

Abel Rhodes - Chapter 1 - Part 4

Team
Spoiler:

The ball wobbled, and wobbled and then... Ding! The catch had been a success. Joy flooded through Abel as he retrieved the ball
"come on out" he tossed it lightly the ball opening releasing his new pokemon is a pure, white light and returning to his hand.
"Spear-" it looked around in confusion, still injured but its pride hurt the most
"Trapinch" said Darner offering a welcoming to his new team mate
"Hello, my name is Abel. I'm your new trainer" explained Abel "Would you like a name". The bird seemed to adjust very to the new situation, Abel figured he must have been lost from his flock or something.
"Would you like to be named Aries?" asked Abel, thinking of it's aggressive, powerful battling
"CAW"
"is that a good caw?
"Trap" said Trapinch nodding
"Okay" Abel grinned "well both of you rest up. In a flash of Red the two were in their respective pokeballs.

Abel continued walking as the sun began to sink lower on the horizon. He figured he would be at Dew Town by the night time where he could get a room at the tows pokemon centre. He walked along quietly and content in the knowledge his team had grown by one and that he had a flying type which would be useful when he reached Carillion forest not far after the town that was now in his view ahead. He felt a strange exhilaration, not the kind that hyped you up but the kind that soothed the soul and made one truly content with where they were. A flock of Spearow flew over the trainers head
Wonder if that was your flock he thought of Aries. It wouldn't be long now and he'd have reached the end of his walking for the day.

Glyn Schaffer - Chapter 1 - Part 3

team:
Spoiler:

"Tympole, before we go, I really need to..." Glyn held up his hand for the tadpole pokémon not to get too far ahead of himself. In his other, the pokédex was pointing at the creature. Dad would have probably murdered him – well, sure, not actually murdering him, but Glyn figured that he'd freak out, though everything that rusty man had to say one usually had to take with a grain of salt – if he found out that his son didn't know the moves of a water type pokémon like Tympole by heart. His work was his passion, and he always tried to involve his family in one way or another with his research. There were a few Tympole among the pokémon he studied. A whole school of them inhabited the waters not far from Coriolis. He was meant to observe their migration patterns or something.

The pokédex flashed the image of a Tympole sample on its monitors, and it displayed a plethora of statistics, most of which Glyn wasn't looking for. The moves, the moves, the moves. He needed to know the moves. Bubblebeam, Supersonic, Rain Dance, Water Pulse. Cool beans, he thought. Now all he needed to do was garner the attention of the Spearow, as it was rather distracted with grooming its plumage. "Tympole bubblebeam!"

Tympole obliged the command of his trainer. He puffed his cheeks and emanated a blue colour originating from his mouth. The Spearow caught notice of the shimmer and it spread its wings in a threatening display. Blue orbs shot in rapid succession from Tympole, dashing towards the bird pokémon, but the Spearow vamoosed, and dodged the beam. "Tympole! Re-direct that beam!" Glyn called out. The Tympole altered his aim, and the barrage of spheres arched into the sky, yet the Spearow circumnavigated the anti-air fire alacritously. It made its intimidating war cry, a growl that instilled angst into the tadpole pokémon, and it plummeted from the sky towards the defenceless Tympole, smashing into him and sending him shooting up 1, 2, 3 metres in the sky, splashing back into the brook.

"Tympole!" Glyn called out. That strike must have hurt a lot, and his concern for Tympole's well-being accrued. The tadpole rolled itself into his upright position and resurfaced. In the meantime, the Spearow was circling around for the next assault. Glyn caught eye to the Spearow making its turn in flight and plummeting with a raptorial cry towards Tympole. His current tactic was pointless. He had to convert the battlefield to his favour, because the Spearow was too fast and to high up to successfully hit. It dawned on Glyn. "Tympole! Dive under!" he yelled. He flipped his tail and submerged under water, away from the peck attack of the Spearow. Instead, it had to embed itself like a spear into the surface of the water, which would deccelerate its momentum significantly. The bird shot into the water.

"That's right! Now use supersonic!" Glyn dashed towards the water to see underneath, though the ripples of the water broke the path of the light that entered his eyes. He was sure he could see the distorted figure of Tympole and the Spearow though. Tympole gaped his mouth and screeched a sound that trilled through the water, beaming forward to the surprise-stricken Spearow. The sounds were so high-pitched to be inaudible to Glyn, but they were tangible somehow. There certainly was a feeling that there was something making a sound, but nothing to hear. For the Spearow, it was the most harrowing sound it must have heard. It resurfaced and flew up, making zig zagging with a distorted balance of flight.

"Now we're getting this done!" Glyn was sort of proud that his quick thinking paid off. The Spearow looked confused by the incessant sound ringing in its ears, and that hampered its combat effectiveness. "Now use bubblebeam!" The tympole puffed his cheeks again and yawped when a machinegun fire of blue spheres came crashing towards the Spearow, now caught in an erratic flight. The beams made a direct hit on the faltering bird pokémon that crashed into the grass on the other side of the brook that Glyn was standing on. Confident that he had succesfully struck down the bird, he cheered Tympole on. "Now you're mine," Glyn grinned and he jumped into the water. The surface level to his waist and he waded through the water towards the shallow inclination, behind which the Spearow crashed. He had an unoccupied pokéball in his hand intended to be used on the defeated Spearow. A shrill cry uttered behind the shallow slope. The Spearow appeared from behind the inclination, mustering the most malicious expression on its face that it could, aiming right at the Tympole. Glyn cheered too soon. The Spearow had snapped out of its confusion and was glowing red with fury. It shot like a bullet towards the unsuspecting Tympole, and knocked him right out of the water.

"Tympole! No!" Glyn hasted towards the wounded tadpole, spartling in the grass. He groaned in pain and the Spearow was making a U-turn to strike again. Glyn had to ford the brook again and he ran towards the Tympole, racing to get to him before the Spearow. He came to an escape plan to save his Tympole from the battering. He still had the empty pokéball ready for use. "Peck this, you bloody bird!" Glyn threw the pokéball towards the Spearow with all the force he could collect. The Spearow flew directly into the pokéball, hitting it with its full force. The ball shot open and converted it to a red energy. Glyn jumped and slid over the grass towards his aggrieved Tympole, scraping over the abrasive surface and sullying his clothing, crisp grains of sand and dirt flying up and defiling his sand blond locks, but he had to get to his Tympole. "I'm sorry, Tympole," he cooed the tadpole pokémon, cradling him in his arms. "Tym," Tympole replied, in a brief moment of understanding between man and Pokémon. Then Glyn felt a sharp thud on his right cheek, the Tympole getting his revenge on him by applying a firm slap with his tailfin. He had a cheeky, half-baked grin on him, and they both shattered with laughter over their little victory. Glyn looked up at the pokéball laying in the field. It was shaking furiously, and the light of the button was glowing bloodred. "Come on," Glyn gritted his teeth in suspense. If it wouldn't hold the struggling Spearow, he and Tympole would be in for trouble.

Chapter Two - Friends? Rivals? Enemies? - Dew Town and Route Two

You have taken your first steps as a trainer and traversed the fields of the Novia Region's Route 1. You have now reached the small Dew Town which serves mostly as a trading depot and rest stop for people travelling between Coriolis Town and Carillion Forest where you will stay for the night before moving onto Route 2, a landscape vastly different from the previous route.

Dew Town is even smaller than Coriolis Town so here you will meet one or more of your fellow beginning trainers and interact with them in any way you choose (see the rules), remember most of you grew up in Coriolis and so will at least have seen each other in passing at some point. Will you become friends with these other trainers? Rivals? Or will you despise them so much you become enemies?

Wild Pokemon Moves - Wild pokemon encountered in this chapter have a maximum of three moves. You will be able to choose these moves from the first five available moves and egg/tm moves. There is a limit of one egg/tm move.

Note: Remember the method for catching wild pokemon is no longer the same as the OP. I will change this shortly. You can move into this chapter as soon as you are ready but you will have to interact with one of the other characters before the end of Route 2. Have fun!

You Must
Interact with another RPer.

You Can
Encounter Wild Pokemon (including attempting to catch as per usual).
Encounter and battle NPC trainers.
Battle another RPer.

You Cannot
Move past Route 2

// CHAPTER ONE : PART THREE //
Sid Norm

Current team
Spoiler:

"Aaah crap! All I did was try to capture you!"

Sid kept on sprinting away from the flock of Spearow that were right behind him. It had been a couple of minutes since the chase started, but for Sid it felt like forever. Every step he took he felt the crowd was ever closer and closer to him. Time was running out. There was no path in Route 1, which Sid found extremely annoying; his dad had told him to head straight north but keeping in the right direction while trying to escape from getting pecked to death was not ideal. Sid looked around frantically, trying to find any kind of distraction or... anything. There must be something, something that he cou-

BAM!!

Sid face planted right into a tree.

"Uuurgh.. just my luuck..~" cried Sid, holding his face in distraught. He couldn't think clearly, and after stumbling around felt straight into the ground. The Spearows stopped in confusion and looked at each other. Then out of nowhere, the tree which Sid had crashed onto came into life - and the leaves burst out to reveal a flock of Swablus!

Before Sid said anything however, the Swablus didn't seem angry at Sid at all. In fact, Sid was right under the tree's shade, and the Swablus seemed to blame the Spearows for disturbing them on their sleep. The Spearows didn't back down at all and suddenly a huge fight broke out between the two parties. Slowly yet swiftly, Sid crawled towards the back of the tree and pulled out his Pokedex. "So this is a Swablu, a dual Normal-Flying type... it doesn't like to get dirty and isn't afraid of people... and it evolves into an ALTARIA, A DRAGON TYPE?! Damn, I need to catch one of these!" Peeking out of his hiding, Sid looked at the current state of the battle. Both Pokemon were at a stalemate, and were canceling each other out with Pecks. Sid sighed. Did all the Pokemon around here only knew Peck or something?

After a few minutes, both sets of Pokemon looked as if they were running out of energy to fight at all, and the battle started to slowly faded away. It was perfect for Sid, as he enlarged an empty Pokeball and threw it at the crowd of Sawblus. The Pokeball hit one of them, absorbed it into the capsule, and dropped straight into the ground. None of the Pokemon seemed to have noticed the Pokeball and all of the Swablus and Spearows started going back to their bases. Sid kept on staring at the vigorously shaking Pokeball. Had he finally caught his first ever Pokemon?

The ball stopped moving and made a ding! sound. Sid went over cautiously, picked it up and let out an enormous grin. He had just caught a freaking Swablu! And with no effort as well!

"I'm going to call him... Alter!"

Abel Rhodes - Chapter 1 - Part 5

Team
Spoiler:

As the sky began to darken and a cool breeze began to flow over Route One's vast plains Abel walked on towards Dew Town which was now clearly within view, not being more than a few hundred metres away. Abel enjoyed the breeze and the calm that had settled over the field, it seemed that the majority of pokemon on the route were only awake during the day and were now beginning to settle down. A group of Togepi waddled past Abel
"Toge-Togepi" was all he heard for a while as the noisy trio invaded the silence
Well... perhaps some are staying up past their bed time he chuckled to himself. In all honesty he was glad that things had settled since both Darner and the newly acquired Aries were still injured from their battle. He continued on towards Dew Town, where most of the small buildings that made up the town were lit from the windows, a sure sign that it was indeed getting later.

Abel released Darner from his pokeball
"We'll be at the town soon" he said to his starter pokemon "I'll get you and Aries healed up nicely once we get there. Do you feel well enough to walk with me the rest of the way?"
"Trap!" the insectoid ground-type chirped enthusiastically.
He really is quite tough, fitting of a soon-to-be dragon I guess though Abel, remembering that Darner would eventually evolve into Vibrava, and then Flygon, both of which had dragon as a secondary type. Aries would keep his typing but nevertheless, Abel looked forward to the day he would have a Spearow on his team.

Abel was shaken from his pondering of his pokemon's evolved forms by Darner tugging at his pants.
"Trap!" exclaimed Darner with more of his goofy enthusiasm. Abel was now standing on a slight incline and from his vantage point on the hill he realised he had finally reached Dew Town, few people were still out and about but those who were nodded at him.
"Well, here we are" said Abel smiling, he had reached his first town a milestone in every trainers journey. Still happy at the, rather minor, achievement Abel walked towards the pokemon centre, the largest of the towns buildings.
