  • Fourth update.

I called technical support for my computer and managed to get it working again. Yay!
Still getting it repaired though, so this doesn't happen again in the future.

Anyway, I was able to continue my journey today. :)

  • I am doing an ultimate water challenge and I am done with Kanto already.

Right now I'm doing the water monotype on Platinum. Started yesterday, played a bit today, and updating right now.

I picked Piplup, obviously, caught a bidoof right away, trained them evenly. Then when I got to Jubilife (?) I got an Old Rod and caught a level 6 Magikarp that I have never used. Then I got a Psyduck on a Cave on my way to the first Gym.

I leveled up Psyduck until he learned water gun and decided to go forth to beat the gym leader.

    1/8

    Piplup lvl 13
    Bidoof lvl 14
    Psyduck lvl 11
    Magikarp lvl 6

  • Just a quick update.

I have defeated Giovanni and he was very easy... I've gotten through Victory Road and made it to the Pokemon League. What my team is looking like at the moment...

    Rain/Nidoqueen|Lv. 50
    Mr. Nido/Nidoking|Lv. 54
    Suna/Sandshrew|Lv. 54
    Alleine/Marowak|Lv. 52
    Horuka/Dugtrio|Lv. 51
    Rocky/Rhydon|Lv. 49

Basically I'm just grinding like crazy at the moment. It's going to be a few levels yet before I'm even remotely comfortable taking on the E4. Unfortunately for me, Lorelei's got a pretty big advantage against my Pokemon so it's going to be hard to get past her.

I'm thinking I'm mostly going to be relying on my Nidos, Sandshrew and Marowak. Dugtrio doesn't have much for HP and her attack stat doesn't seem to be doing her any favors... Rhydon... eh.. He doesn't learn Earthquake for another 9 levels and he just doesn't have very good moves right now. So.. we'll see.

  • Platinum Water Monotype

    Last time I wrote:
    1/8 badges
    Piplup lvl 13
    Bidoof lvl 14
    Psyduck lvl 11
    Magikarp lvl 6

    Then...
I have been playing, but not updating, so I'll just do it all here and now.
Basically after I got that badge, I caught a Buizel and named him tails. Took him to beat team Galactic in the flower town. (sorry, can't remember the names of most cities). After that I caught a Shellos. Trained my Shellos, Bibarel (Bidoof evolved) and Prinplup (Piplup evolved too), Psyduck and Tails (Buizel) in Eterna Forest (?) while I still had the chansey girl with me. Leveled them to 20, except for Magikarp who just leveled once god knows why.

After that I tried to beat the grass Gym Leader and got my butt kicked big time. I trained and trained and trained and trained and trained... My team was like this:

    Bibarel l21
    Prinplup l22
Shellos l23 (lucky he had Ice Hidden power, otherwise I'd probably have to grind to insane levels)
Tails l24 (was planning on evolving him before trying to challenge Gardenia again)
    Psyduck l21
    Magikarp l7

I was lucky when I won. Basically my Bibarel got a critical hit rollout on Turtwig which gave me a good start, but Cherrim took him out. Shellos was my life saver here. His Ice hidden power killed Cherrim and hurt Roserade, but Roserade killed him... I managed to weaken Roserade with Prinplup and Tails (Psyduck was a major fail), then all I had left was Magikarp, which I used to use a Max Revive I got from the underground (was looking for a Water Stone for Eevee) on Shellos. When I switched to Shellos he hit him with Hidden Power, barely survived Roserade's Magical Leaf and hit her again with Hidden Power. She died. I sighed with relief.

Definitely one of the hardest Gym battles I've faced.

    Badges:
    2/8

    Team:
    Bibarel l21
    Prinplup l22
    Shellos l23
    Tails l24 (Buizel)
    Psyduck l21
    Magikarp l7

Hm, I need something to do. Let's go for it!

    Username: novachief37
    Type: Ground
    Challenge: Ultimate
Game(s): LeafGreen, SoulSilver, Ruby, Platinum, White 2 Challenge Mode

Just to be sure, I don't have to COMPLETE the games in any order, do I? Because Red will take a long time to train for, and i'd prefer to do one of the easier games like Ruby or LeafGreen first.

Nope, you can do them in any order you want.

  • Well, in that case, I guess i'll post my first update for Ruby. The only additional rule is that the battle style is on Set at all times. I'm playing this on an emulator with super speed access, so it'll be over pretty quickly. :P

    So here's my team:
