America gets a thread SO AUSTRALIA SHOULD TOO.
Yesterday Julia Gillard announced the Australian election, 227 days early. This is extremely early for an election to be announced, considering that other election periods were much shorter. Gillard mentioned that the election campaign did not start yesterday and won't start until August 27th, however, with the chance to advertise everywhere and put ideas in place, such as new reforms in said time, the election campaign could've very well began yesterday, and everything from now on should be taken as a campaign. Do you agree with the campaign starting now? Do you think that this can be an advantage to Labor? Or do you think it will be more of an advantage to the Liberals? Do you know who you're voting for or will you decide in the next 7 months? Do you think either party deserves to win...? Feel free to bring up any other points related to the election if you want (or even to use this thread to discuss the election over the next 7 months??)
