Team: (Note that Dugtrio, Muk, and Raichu dont have nicknames, they did they were just inappropriate because that's what happens when you let friends name pokemon >.>, ANYWAY)
Dugtrio, the Hardy Dugtrio ("Caught" from Giovanni)
Level 37
Ability: Arena Trap
Dig, Aerial Ace, Mud-Slap, Earthquake (TM from Giovanni)
Thoughts: This pokemon I didnt get to use all that much, I caught him honestly for Earthquake, because it's just too good of a move to pass up. It really is. I'll have to give him another try when I can use him for a more significant portion of the game.
Jim, the Calm Starmie ("Caught" from Misty)
Level 56
Ability: Illuminate
Ice Beam, Psychic, Surf, Water Pulse (TM from Misty)
Thoughts: I LOVE Starmie, my second favorite pokemon, second only to Vaporeon, even with one of his move slots taken up by Water Pulse, he still has AMAZING type coverage, and when he was my only choice to take from Misty, heck, I didn't complain.
Shazam!!!, the Docile Kadabra ("Caught" from Sabrina)
Level 45
Ability: Inner Focus
Psychic, Psybeam, Future Sight, Calm Mind (TM from Sabrina)
Thoughts: I probably would've gotten more mileage from him if I would've put my ROM through the randomizer not even to randomize, but just to turn off trade evolutions. The fact that he couldn't become an Alakazam was extremely noticeable.
Muk, the Brave Muk ("Caught" from Koga)
Level 49
Ability: Stench
Toxic (TM from Koga), Sludge, Minimize, Sludge Bomb
Thoughts: I got Muk in my last random pokemon challenge in the other topic, I fell in love with him having never used him before. I decided to pick him up again this playthrough after Koga to see if I only liked him because he was the best of a meh team, and the answer to that is No. Muk is a pokemon I foresee myself using a lot more often in the future.
Raichu, the Hasty Raichu ("Caught" from Lt. Surge)
Level 49
Ability: Static
Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, Strength, Shock Wave (TM from Lt. Surge)
Thoughts: You know, as much as Pikachu is the mascot of the Pokemon series, I never really used him. And maybe it's because he's the mascot that I didn't, I always much preferred Ampharos and, more recently, Magneton. But learning Thunderbolt naturally at a low level is a HUGE plus. He was good at why he did, taking out Water and Flying pokemon within 2 turns. And that's all I could ever ask for.
Rocky, the Impish Graveler ("Caught" from Brock)
Level 44
Ability: Sturdy
Strength, Rollout, Magnitude, Rock Tomb (Brock's TM)
Thoughts: He carried me through the beginning, I mean he had to, he was the only pokemon I had for Misty. But Rocky dragged me to Celadon City, where he was relieved by a recently evolved Starmie who had just learned Psychic and he was off to the races. Graveler is another pokemon that I REALLY wish I would've turned off trade evos for, because I imagine he'd be more powerful significantly as a Golem. His usefulness fell off around Sabrina.
I did catch an Oddish for Erika's gym, that I didn't really use at all, and even though I intended to get a Growlithe after Blaine's gym, I never did go get it, so I'm actually missing a pokemon that I copied, all in all, it was a fun run. I would do it again for another generation, but it doesn't have much replay value for the same generation because your choices are so limited as to what you can use.
