I'm hoping this time we actually get moving. I've attempted this once before, but it never got off the ground. I saw that this was a relatively...slow time in the RPG section, so I thought maybe a strong, plot-driven, fun Digimon RP could jumpstart things and get some movement going.

Digital Guardians: Ragnarok Virus

When the Digital World was first formed, it existed in an era of peace. The Five Harmonious Ones were the Sovereigns of the Digital World, and their rule was a fair and just one. They ruled over all things in the Digital World, and conflict and war was almost nonexistent, but things were bound to change. Eventually, a life form by the name of Apocalymon came into being, and his very existence warped the reality of the Digital World. He assembled a giant following of evil Digimon and attempted to usurp control of the Digital World from the Harmonious Ones, and he nearly succeeded. However, the Harmonious Ones managed to bring a group of humans into the Digital World. The humans' ability to accelerate the evolution of their Digimon partners allowed them to overcome Apocalymon's forces and the leader of the Harmonious Ones, the giant dragon Fanglongmon, sacrificed himself in order to defeat the Apocalymon.

With the remnants of the Apocalymon's data, the Harmonious Ones then created the Dark Area, a parallel world devoid of color to serve as a prison for the surviving members Apocalymon's armies. To honor the sacrifice of Fanglongmon, the four remaining Harmonious Ones used his residual data to create the Light Area, a digital paradise that came to be watched over by the three Celestial Digimon. And once again, peace reigned across the Digital World.

But in the Dark Area, the evil Digimon were growing in power and number, and the Harmonious Ones knew it would only be a matter of time before they attempted to attack once again, so they recruited more humans, brought them to the Digital World, and created an organization that would help police the Digital World called the Guardians. They appointed the mighty Susanoomon as the leader of the Guardians, who in turn kept the peace for over a century.

However, something has begun to stir. A virus has erupted across the Digital World, weakening the barrier between the regular plane of the Digital World and the Dark Area, and the Dark Area is beginning to expand randomly into the regular Digital World, bringing with it many of the evil Digimon imprisoned there. The Guardians have in turn assigned a team of their best Tamers to discover the origins of the "Ragnarok Virus" and find a way to reverse its effects while at the same time, they must prevent the "super-dark" Digimon from crossing over into the regular plane of the Digital World.

General Information:

Digital World: A data world that runs along a parallel plane of existence to our own "human world." It has three different layers and is ruled by the four (previously five) Harmonious Ones. "Digital World" is also used to reference the regular plane of the Digital World.

Dark Area: A world formed from Apocalymon's residual data. It is the lowest level of the Digital World, a parallel world devoid of color and light that serves as a prison for the most evil Digimon. It is a Shadow of the regular plane of the Digital, having all the same physical features, but existing on a separate level.

Light Area: A world formed from Fanglongmon's remaining data. It is the highest level of the Digital world, a paradise realm of sorts. It is watched over by the three Celestial Digimon and inhabited by various holy Digimon. Unlike the Dark Area, which has the same physical features of the regular Digital World, the Light Area has its own features and structures.

Harmonious Ones: The rulers of the Digital World consisting of Azulongmon, Baihumon, Ebonwumon, and Zhuqiaomon. Another member –Fanglongmon- was the leader of the group until he sacrificed himself to defeat Apocalymon. Each of the four remaining Harmonious Ones rule/guard a different part of the Digital World, with Ebonwumon in the north, Zhuqiaomon in the south, Baihumon in the West, and Azulongmon in the east.

Celestial Digimon: The protectors the Light Area consisting of Seraphimon, Ophanimon, and Cherubimon. They are all powerful angelic Digimon.

Seven Great Demon Lords: Seven powerful and vicious "Demon Lord" Digimon created by Apocalymon to serve as the Generals for his army. They were defeated and imprisoned in the Dark Area with the rest of Apocalymon's army. However, Lilithmon and Leviamon didn't survive their defeats, leaving only Barbamon, Beelzemon, Belphemon, Daemon, and Lucemon still alive.

The Guardians: A peace-keeping force of (human) Tamers and their Digimon assembled by the Harmonious Ones to police the Digital World. The Guardians are led by Susanoomon and assisted by the Supercomputer Artificial Intelligence (SAI) program called "Yggdrasil" whose holographic form usually takes the form of a tree or glowing crystals.

Royal Knights: A small but powerful group of Digimon intended on protecting the Digital World without the interference of humans, consisting of Imperialdramon Paladin Mode (the leader), Alphamon (the second in command), Duftmon (the tactician), Sleipmon, and Craniummon. The sentiment that humans didn't belong in the Digital World was the catalyst for this group's creation.

Digivices and Crests: The digivices in this story are of the D-3 design. They have the ability to open "Digi-Ports" - computer programs that serve as gateways to the Digital World. They serve to channel the emotional energy of the Tamesr (DigiDestined), allowing their Digimon partners to Digivolve up to Champion level; when used in conjunction with the energies of a Crest, the Digivices also permit Digivolution to the Ultimate level, and possibly the Mega level. Later, as the story progresses, the characters will gain a Crest, representing the strongest aspect of their personality: Courage, Friendship, Knowledge, Love, Reliability, Sincerity, Hope, Light, Kindness, Justice, Mercy, Honor, and Loyalty. (If you really make a good case, I'll allow other, made-up crests).
__________________________________________________

Official Basic Rules:

1. No god-modding.
2. Only control your own character unless given permission otherwise by the other character's owner.
3. No killing other OC's without their owner's permission.
4. If you wish to create an NPC with a large part then please just state that on the sign-ups so that it doesn't get killed. Otherwise it's open season.
5. You must have good grammar! Get a proofreader for all I care! Use the spell-check! Anything, just make sure things make sense. I can tolerate some slip-ups, but nothing on a constant basis.
6. Please try to post at least once every 2-5 days (unless you give me a reason why you can't). Any longer than that and we might lose you or leave you behind.
7. No making up histories for characters (even NPCs) that aren't your own.
8. I reserve the right to eject you from the RP if you break one of these rules seriously enough. However, you will receive a warning and a chance to explain/redeem yourself beforehand.

__________________________________________________

NOTE!!!!!!!...Because more is often less, I've decided that I'd rather have less RPers (though more experienced), with a couple of characters to their control. By this, I'm basically taking away the 1-character limit often associated with RPs. This means that I'll be looking for really good and interesting signups. So if you want 2 characters, then I'm okay with that.

Name: Akira Jupiter Fubuki (two surnames)

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Physical Description: A young teenager, Akira doesn't have too many noticable features aside from his nationality. One of the things that does somewhat make him stand out is his height; he is rather tall for a 19-year old, and while he isn't exactly a giant, it's still noticable. His physique could be best described as lithe, given his slim build, and can also be called lanky as well. He isn't one for sport, though he doesn't despise it, but it's more adept at swimming than any other type. The young man's facial structure is rather birdlike, boasting a curved nose and sharp cheekbones that give him a rather keen look.

Akira is of a hybrid nationality; he is one-half Japanese and one-half American. His hair is a light-brown colour, and has a ragged, "bed-head" type of look that suggests he turns in his sleep; alternatively, he just can't be bothered to give it a specific style. The length is basically ideal for him; neither too long, nor too short, so average in other words. Unusually, it's quite thick and grows quite quickly, meaning he has to have it cut every two weeks. On the plus side, it means he won't suffer male pattern baldness. Apparently, it's inherited from his father. Akira has a Caucasian skin tone; i.e. peach-coloured, but is also quite tanned, and his eyes are a dark brown colour that almost always seem to have a rather serene and calm look to them, with perfectly round, tiny black pupils. He almost looks like a doll.

Akira's choice of clothing is relatively simple: it will almost always consist of a T-Shirt of a dark colour scheme - either brown, dark-red or black - which is either left blank or has a picture/sarcastic saying present on the chest. He's lately started to wear a vermillion T-Shirt with a golden, rather artistic depiction of a serpentine dragon on the front. On top of this, Akira dons what is meant to be an alternate approach to fur coats; a white hooded top with a rough sketch of a tiger on the back, in thick black strokes. Unlike most hoodies, it isn't a sweat top with a hood on the back; it is split into two halves, which can be joined together with a zip. He usually leaves this unzipped to show off his shirt, and doesn't wear the hood unless it rains. Below the waist are a pair of royal blue jeans in near-immaculate condition, held up by a brown belt made of false leather, and on his feet is a pair of white socks and black dress shoes. In addition, Akira also has a pair of sunglasses with light-blue lenses, often worn to shield his eyes from dust or sand or gales, or from virtually anything that might impede his vision. Like his fellow Guardians, he bares the Sword and Shield tattoo that is the Guardian Crest on the back of his right hand, for various purposes in the Digital World.

Personality Profile: Akira is an intelligent fellow, but has a very straightforward mindset: every problem must have a solution. This is one of his "principles", as it were, something he follows regularly in everyday life. In his opinion, life is a series of problems, which you combat using logic and formulae. A hard worker, he doesn't believe in taking life too easily, and breaks should only be taken when necessary. Indeed, he is rather proud of what he's achieved in life – the school grade prize in writing, and his relative mastery of a few languages – and that it was gained through effort. Akira is somewhat of an otaku, but describes himself as being an "otaku-lite"; he does have somewhat of an obsession with anime and manga, and does use honourifics, but he does know how to use them, and only in the company of fellow Japanese. As he notes, speaking Japanese, he can watch and read without the aid of subtitles or translations. The only real merchandise he can claim to have is some figures from Evangelion, the Evangelions themselves, but that would be about it.

However, when it comes to socialising and interpersonal taboos amongst others, Akira doesn't have a formula, because he doesn't know how to draw it up; this is called "The Engineer's Curse", where the subject has an advanced intellect but little to none social interaction skills. He can talk to people, that's a given, but is rather formal and polite, and seems more suited to conversing with adults than he does teenagers. However, lack of social skills does not equal being shy or quiet. Akira is very sarcastic and sardonic, with a love of rebutting other people's views or opinions, claiming "there's nothing against having an opinion on an opinion!" Basically, this lack of knowledge on socialising, combined with his cynical attitude, means he does tend to get on people's nerves quite a lot.

Armed with a quick wit and a sharp tongue, Akira has landed himself in sticky situations, but usually gets out of it...somehow. Perhaps as a result of belonging to two different cultures, he has a talent in languages, and is trilingual in English, German and Japanese, often intermixing words from these languages into his sentences. However, in regards to Japanese, he's capable of speaking the language just fine. Writing, however, is more of a challenge; he still hasn't learnt all the kanji and how to write it. When in difficult situations, he tends to fall back on a favourite curse word of his: "scheisse!" Akira doesn't desire power, nor does he want to be a leader; he's more of an advisor, the one behind the leader, quietly giving his opinion. He's more of a backseat man. Akira judges people quite quickly, basing it off their body language and mannerisms; his shrewd guesses usually turn out to be quite on the mark. He's hard to impress, but if he makes a friend, then he will respect them. He can assimilate into a group, but doesn't make any real connections from the get-go; when he does, you can bet they'll last.

Guardian Time: 2 years

Digivice Colour: Scarlet grips with silver core

Crest Type: Knowledge

(Not So) Brief Background: Akira wasn't exactly…born the usual way. To put it bluntly, he's a test-tube baby. His mother Megumi Fubuki was a brilliant doctor working in New York in a government scientific think-tank, but was unable to conceive naturally with her partner, and this ultimately led to the two breaking up after he had an affair with some other German doctor; the last she heard of them was they were knocking boots in Berlin. But the need to have a child still rested heavily on her mind, so she opted to become artificially inseminated. The donor was an American scientist, Aaron Jupiter, who was chosen as part of a eugenics project and worked on the same think-tank. The idea was that the offspring of two bright sparks would become ideal in the future. Megumi had the idea of a traditional family in mind, however, despite the notably untraditional method of conception, and attempted to chase Aaron up. Ultimately, the two ended up marrying about a year after Akira was born, with the son taking both surnames.

Akira spent most of his time growing up in Westchester County, New York, where there was a fairly large Japanese-American neighbourhood there, so they fit in quite well. While he ultimately learnt both Japanese and English, he ended up speaking the latter more often, notably when he was attending school, so it became his first language, and had more experience in writing in that tongue. From a young age, a lot of empathsis on education and its value was placed upon him, resulting in his desire to work hard in everything that he did. Like most Japanese-Americans his age, Akira performed well in the classroom, and showed a particular flair in writing. This was rather surprising, considering his parents were both scientifically-brained; however, his approach to characters and plot was mainly mechanical. Imagination could come later. To try and improve in this, he started collecting manga. Whether it had any lasting effect on his abilities has yet to be seen, but it did start an interest that may or may not have turned into an obsession.

At age 17, the Guardians recruited Akira; while he was average in physical strength, he was considered a rare intellectual, his tactical ability shining through. Ultimately, this managed to get him through the examinations and was assigned with the somewhat-tempermental Digimon Guilmon. Despite Guilmon being difficult to work with to start off, eventually they managed to hit their stride and work very well together.

----

Digimon Partner: Guilmon

Digimon Personality: Artificially created by the Guardians in a project to more-or-less outshine the Royal Knights, Guilmon was dubbed the Test-Type because of the experimental proceedure by which he was created; he was derived from a Data-type organism, but the introduction of the Digital Hazard to give him additional power resulted in him classified as a Virus-type. As such, due to the Digital Hazard, Guilmon is somewhat tempermental, and at times can act fierce and go into a vicious rage. Fortunately, due to Akira's influence, he generally remains a calm, self-controlled being, and is fiercely loyal to him, often going so far as to use his body as a shield. That said, all Guilmon needs is a little pressure and he goes "berserk", but these spells don't last too long. Genuinely brave, he and Akira work well together.

Digivolution Line: Guilmon -> Growlmon -> WarGrowlmon -> Gallantmon -> Gallantmon Crimson Mode

Very nice signup. My only qualm is where it says that Guilmon was created to boost the ranks of the Royal Knights by the Guardians. However, in this RP, the Guardians and the Royal Knights are often at odds with one another due to the rejection of human influence in the digital world by the Royal Knights (stated in the original info).

However, change that little sentence, and you're definately accepted.

Name: Hart Chamberz

Age: 17 (very recently)

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Hart is a very awkward guy physically. Always has he been a short little thing, but after his sixteenth birthday it became an issue. For five years he has been 5'3'', a hill compared to his mountainous friends. Only one of his issues for staying inside his house all his life, this has led Hart to develop a "sunken eye" facial structure; his eyes are deep with dark rings around them and his jawline can be easily seen because of the shadow it makes.

Hart is a half Italian, though it is only shown in his love of pasta. Italians are usually upbeat where he lives, but Hart is a total outcast. His features and attitudes have caused him to be somewhat pale, and he is always seen in a dark blue t-shirt no matter what else he wears.

His "other half" is British, from his father, and is rarely seen. Somewhat schizophrenic in a way,he hides his British side. When in control, he has to constantly invent things from random objects, almost never useful objects either. He also dislikes it because it makes him ALOT less shy, and he never can recall what he's done after he sleeps.

Personality Profile: Hart grew up in a small town off of London. He was always rather responsible, but too shy. He also has a photographic memory, which has come in handy with his grades. Unfortunately, it didn't everywhere else. His shyness, brain, and memory have often led to him being a "freak," as the laughing girls in the hall at school put it. Because of this he rarely goes outdoors and will stay inside, read, and sleep; he gets enough abuse at school, why should he get it at home?

The only person that could ever bring out the best in Hart was his Grandma, Sala. She was the only one that brought a smile to Hart's face when they spoke. But, a terrible loss to him, she died the day before his seventeenth birthday. He now keeps at least four different pictures of him and her in his wallet, and must stare at them at least once a day for ten seconds. His once-friends really hated this, especially when about to go to the mall or something. They would drive off and leave him at his door, on occasion.

He will talk to a person once he can understand ALL of the gears in his or her head. This has landed him a few friends along the way, and the occasional smile. He is truly a compassionate person when someone gets to know him, and can be the best friend one could have if they try. Many have told him that he's the reliable one, the loving one, and the hopeful one in their group, and he's proud to hear that.

Guardian Time: Almost 3 weeks

Digivice Color: A dark metallic blue core with violet grips

Crest Type: Love

Brief Background: Hart has only been a Guardian for three weeks, joined two days after his brithday, and is already an outcast. He, from his personal background, has not made any attempt to have any friends within the guardians, and has gone all of his missions solo, with the exception of his partner and best friend, Salamon.

Digimon partner: Salamon

Digimon Personality: Salamon is an energentic little thing, and the polar opposite of Hart. She is very extraverted and will have to introduce Hart for him to those they go to help. But they feel like they are two halves of a whole, they complete each other's errors. And Salamon reminds Hart of his Grandmother.

Digivolution Line:

Salamon -> Gatomon -> Angewoman -> Magnadramon
Salamon -> Swanmon (Digi-egg of Hope)
Salamon -> Oryxmon (Digi-egg of Hope)

Sorry about that, but it's fixed. I've changed it to an AncientMermaimon line, hope that is allowed. I did read the rules before i posted, i just didn't know LadyDevi was super-evil. I was trying to go for a "what if Hart never was loved" kind of thing, representing Angewoman and LadyDevimon.

If you take out Magnadramon and that digivolution line you can have Mermaimon. I don't care about Armor Digivolving since that ends after that armor form (and one of my characters has several armor forms to use). But you only get one main digivolution line per digimon. Also, Tylomon is an armor level, it can't serve as your champion form. I'm pretty lax about evolution lines, but I don't allow substituting one level for another...and no fanmades.

Name: Jeff Drago

Age: 17 (very close to 18)

Gender: Male

Physical Description: Jeff is caucasian with dark brown, medium-length hair. He is lean and somewhat muscular. Green-gray-slightly yellow eyes. He has a small, evenly-spread goatee. He is six foot one inch tall and 135 pounds. He wears white and silver running shoes and white socks. Jeff wears primarily red, with black and white, soccer shorts. He also wears a blue t-shirt. To top it off, he wears his favorite dark blue baseball hat. He is from Eastern Canada and has a quick tongue to prove it. Jeff occasionally wears sunglasses or chews on a toothpick during missions.

Personality Profile: Jeff is a very very stubborn individual. Once he sets his mind on something he values as important, his head becomes as hard as rock. This goes especially for his own morals, such as fully paying back good deeds towards him from friends. This is partially in part to his large pride, which goes so far as he refuses to accept help from anyone. Despite his large pride, he is not an arrogent individual, and is rather humble. Jeff is also very impulsive and very blunt.

He seems to have a problem with leaders and alpha males. He hates being ordered around and people with arrogant attitudes, and will often disobey their orders out of pure spite, just so he'll get his point across. He's a little impatient at times and sometimes serious. Despite his independent streak, when he's with a team, he'll do his very best to help them out...in his own way, though. He also is a bit pessimistic when it comes to people, but is optimistic when it comes to situations. He is always suspicious when people are that extra bit nice to him and he isn't that trustful.

His best friend is Monodramon, and he is protective of him, but not over-protective. He's quite amused by Monodramon's antics as long as his hat isn't stolen (where it often is). They enjoy making fun of each other and often get into physical fights as a result. Jeff is a strong believer in justice, and often has to hold Monodramon back the few times he goes overboard. He is particularily fond of and good at fighting.

Guardian Time: 0.5 years (6 months)

Digivice Color: Green core, dark blue grips.

Crest Type: Determination. Case: Really none of the crests left fit my character's personality, and they are the character's strongest trait, aren't they? Determination would be a very suiting one for my character and it would definately be an interesting crest to have and to activate.

Brief Background: Jeff joined the Guardians two months after his seventeenth birthday. His main goal was to keep evil contained. He and Monodramon quickly became close friends and each picked up ideals from each other. Jeff gained a mistrust for virus types and Monodramon became more independent-minded.

Digimon Partner: Monodramon

Digimon Personality: He is kind, light-hearted and curious. He keeps his cool most of the time. On top of that, he is figidty when in one place for too long and loves playing with switches, buttons, and the like (even occasionally on Jeff's digivice). Monodramon is a little clumsy at times and he also is embarrassed/ashamed quite easily, though he tries to hide it. He often stutters/stumbles on his words/has trouble speaking when embarrassed or nervous, making him more embarrassed. He also likes to steal Jeff's hat and put it on his horn (partly because the back of his horn is his weak point and he's rather sensitive about it). Monodramon calls Jeff "Jeffrey" when he wants to annoy him.

Monodramon is extremely stubborn and hates virus-type digimon with a passion. He is a loyal follower of the sovereigns (Azulongmon, in particular) and always did his duty as ordered (even if it was only scouting). He was very surprised when he was assigned as Jeff's partner. He always wants to the right thing and what's in Jeff's best interests (except when it comes to virus types, to whom Monodramon's justice doesn't apply.) Jeff and Monodramon's clashing stubbornness can often lead to arguments, and sometimes even physical fights between the two. He doesn't want to be associated with the 'virus buster' digimon and he has become more independent minded as he spent more time with Jeff. When staying up he will often be lost in thought or watching the stars...unless there are buttons around.

Digivolution Line: Monodramon -> Strikedramon -> Cyberdramon -> Justimon
