No, i dont IV train(my god can you imagine the hell that would put me through?!) and i only EV train when acouple of points make a world of difference (such as on Umbreon who is 252HP, 252S.Def). I DO however, Breed for correct natures.

So yeah, i'm a bit way through Fire Red and heres my team so far

Wartortle (eventually Blastoise)
Graveler (i will never be able to get a golem because i can't trade, should i get a rhydon?)
Gloom (eventually Vileploom)
Pidgeotto (eventually Pidgeot)
And when i can i will get growlithe and then Arcanine
And dratini to dragonite.

is this an ok team?

If your looking for a decent fire pokemon, I'd suggest Magmar or maybe Moltres if you can obtain it.
