What professions are you interested in?
What career path out of the professions you're interested in do you think you'll end up following?
Also, if you're currently in a profession that you've wanted to be in, what profession would you consider switching to if you started to no longer enjoy the one that you're currently in?

  • I'm interested in being a biologist. Obviously biology is a very broad field, and I'm not exactly sure what I want to do career wise. Right I'm taking a couple science classes so we'll see if I start to like anything more specific.

    So true haha!

I'm in the games animation profession and if I had to, I would try film animation, character design, or being an art teacher/ professor/ running my own studio. I don't think I would ever want to freelance- too stressful.

  • I'm interested into going into the illustration area/profession, but at the moment it's all still pretty freelance. I'm slowly steering into the animation area, but if I was to change my profession it would be something completely different, such as Web mastering or voice acting.

  • I'm interested in being one of two things - a materials engineer and/or an author. Of course, I would become the latter if either the former falls through or I need a side job, as the field of writing is so claustrophobic that there's hardly any room for anyone new to make any headway in the business. As for material engineering, I've found that every engineering field is in demand, and since coming up with unique and innovative ideas to change the fabric of the world is something I enjoy doing, why not?

I'm interested in computer technology, mainly coding and software development. I've also recently taken an interest in mobile development and I've always had a side interest in web development, but web development is kind of difficult to get into it's seemed and a lot of freelance work which I'm not interested in, which leaves me with the coding opportunities. (:

  • What professions are you interested in? I dunno, something where I can use my logical brain to do stuff. Mathematical modelling I quite enjoyed, so something down that road perhaps.

What career path out of the professions you're interested in do you think you'll end up following? Well, I'm currently an IT consultant and it's been pretty good so far so as it stands, I am happy to stick and progress through this career choice. My father is also an IT Consultant and he handles billing algorithms for smart metering systems in the energy industry at the moment, so even though he's in the IT field, a lot of his work involves mathematics and that's probably where I want to be heading down as well. Money wise, it's better to be an IT consultant doing billing work than just being a billing person anyway, so while it will take me a fair bit longer to get into the mathematical aspects of IT, it should pay off in the long run.

Also, if you're currently in a profession that you've wanted to be in, what profession would you consider switching to if you started to no longer enjoy the one that you're currently in? OK if I could, if it was reasonably possible then I wouldn't mind becoming a part of one of those special force units for tactical operations. They could be like "CODE BLACK, DISPATCH THE OVERLORD UNIT!" And then I could be sent off to the site in epic combat armour with a katana to KICK SOME ASS AND CUT SOME PEOPLE UP! It seems cool in theory but it would be quite nerve racking and I'd probably end up dying in some random alley way.

More realistically, I wouldn't mind modelling stuff. Could be flight paths of planes or whatever.

  • I've always been interested in teaching, no matter what the topic was I've always gotten a buzz out of explaining something to someone and gradually seeing them learn the idea I'm trying to put across to them. Right now I'm following the teaching career path and I'm studying to be a secondary level ICT teacher, so once I get my QTS I'll be qualified to teach 11-16 year olds.
I can't say I'm in my professional right now since I'm only a trainee teacher/student teacher but from what experience I have I doubt I'll ever grow bored of it. IT is one of the most dynamic subjects you can work in and teaching is a pretty dynamic profession to begin with so it'd take a lot to get bored. However if for whatever reason I have to leave my profession (idk like if I get a criminal record or something) then I'd probably look into studying graphic design and see if I could get into that industry. I hope that never happens though since I know how hard to can be to get into that area of work without just caving and becoming a freelance designer.

  • I might consider getting a job related to psychology because I'm currently into the subject in school.

  • I want to do something in the entertainment industry, like television. Not acting, but other stuff. Maybe something in a television studio or whatever. Not 100% sure to be honest.

  • I want to be-
(Main jobs)- Photographer, Baseball Player, (maybe) a Rugby Player, or Advertising Manager.
    (Side jobs)- Author and/or Photographer.
I want to be an author no matter what. If I get one of the latter three main jobs, I would be a freelance photographer in the off season if I was an athlete or after I retire as an advertising manager. I like that creative/sports stuff.

  • I'm currently studying to get a career in Medicine/Health Sciences, and am aiming primarily at becoming a doctor. I know it will be tough work, but I think if I work hard enough I just might be able to achieve my dream.

I'm dreaming about become a best-selling author one day, as I have mentioned many times in this forum. Journalism is a big part of my life, and I'm currently editor-in-chief of our school's newspaper, which is a big step for me. I'm still young, tho, so that would probably change in a few years, but right now, I'm working my butt off on fan fics and things of that matter.

  • I've wanted to be several different things in my life, but now I more or less know that I want to end up as a biomedical researcher. It's hard to say exactly where I'll specialise at this point, since that's still a pretty gigantic field, but only time'll tell I guess. Either way though that's hopefully where I'll end up just because it's something that interests me a lot, my degree leads me perfectly into it, etc etc etc. At some point I'll probably end up teaching biology in some shape or form but that's a long way in the future yet.

Of course I still have to get myself into that field! I'd need a good degree and probably a PhD first so I don't hold out all that much hope just yet.

  • The professions that interest me are story-telling, psychology, editting and filmmaking. I tend to like creative things.

I think I'll end up following the writing or editting career path. I love to work with words. I know everybody says they want to be a writer so it's a bit yawn, but sometimes I feel like I actually could.

  • The profession I'm most interested in going into is the Entertainment Industry, hopefully acting of some sort, but I'd have to be pretty lucky to get very far in that business. I'm also very interesting in Psychology, and I think the most likely profession I would end up going into would be Dramatherapy because that combines my interests and it's well paying but in order to do that I need a masters in Dramatherapy first!

I also wouldn't say no to being a model that would be awesome cause I've got the ideal model proportions (Or so I've been told by professionals..)

Was hoping to get into a branch of the law enforcement profession sometime in my life, whether that's being a cop or being a lawyer is anyone's guess atm.
