Just a note that this is a different take on the Fullmetal Alchemist universe, and none of the original characters are involved at all.

Plot

"The world faces a terrible crisis," The cold words of Fuhrer Klein rang like the rusted church bells of a demolished building in the young man's ears. "We – no, I have been ignoring the issue for far too long, and now our people are beginning to pay the price for my inability to act."

The year is 1913, and the country of Amestris is still recovering from the fallout of the Ishvalan Civil War that had taken seven years, and ended abruptly in 1908 when State Alchemists were sent to the East to remove finish the conflict. The war, which came about as a result of the neighbouring country of Aerugo playing on tensions between the alchemic government and religious Ishvalan people in order to weaken the nearby border, nearly completely decimated the Ishvalan population and created many anti-government groups down the road.

Shortly after the end of the civil war, a strange disease began to spread across Aerugo. There were few cases at first, but eventually it multiplied, and more and more fell ill to the bizarre epidemic. To those who caught the disease, it would begin as a simple cold, but over time more discrepancies would surface. Parts of the human body began to crystallize, their bodies becoming covered in hard, red stone. Eventually, they would become completely coated in this unbreakable stone, but were still very much alive, just immobile. For some reason, they lived on without human sustenance as well, as if their very existence was now to live on as these structures for an unknown reason.

Amestris' Fuhrer, Sebastian Klein, paid little attention to this outbreak in the other country, and instead of helping, increased border security to disallow outsiders from entering the nation. Some feared he was losing his touch with common sense in his old age, but he was still a scary old man, so very few stood up to him. The people of Amestris heard of the disease, xylica as it was eventually named, spreading to the other countries that bordered Amestris, until they were completely surrounded. However, Klein still did nothing, instead increasing security once again.

Finally, there was a recorded case in Amestris, in Central City of all places. Apparently an infected person had snuck into the country, and infected his countrymen! At this point, however, it was almost too late. The disease started to spread across the nation, but there was no foreseeable cure. Eventually, in his old age, Klein began looking at less… traditional methods. Panacea, the elixir of life. It was an alchemic legend that was told to cure any disease, but as far as anyone was aware, nobody had actually ever created the medicine. However, there were rumors that the people of Xing had done some useful research on it with their alkahestry.

Shortly after the first outbreak, the Fuhrer brought called a young State Alchemist into his office and assigned him a simple task: find a team of capable people and seek Panacea. In the meantime, the government was going to try other means, and since the elixir of life was nothing but legend, much like the Philosopher's Stone, both the State Alchemist and any who joined in his quest would start out as nothing but skeptical.

Important Information
If you aren't completely familiar with Fullmetal Alchemist, the FMA Wiki would be the best place to start. Look specifically at the article on Alchemy to understand the specifics of the craft. The base of the RP more or less borrows themes from both the original FMA anime and the manga / Brotherhood.

This. Is. Awesome! Please reserve me, I'll have my SU up soon, I hope. :)

Name: Isaac Graanz

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Profession: State Alchemist

Appearance: Standing at 6 feet tall, Isaac Granz has spikey black hair. His eyes are hidden behind sunglasses, which he never takes off, even in dark rooms, or while he sleeps, so it's almost like a trademark. His left ear is pierced with a simple silver earring, appearing to look as simple as a ring. He has a goatee to match his black spikey hair.

He wears an alternative to the Amestris military uniform, sporting a black-colored uniform of a Colonel, which is his rank. His hands are covered by black gloves as well. The chain of his watch is visible from his pants. When off duty, he would usually be seen wearing a simple grey shirt and with blue pants. However, his style when out-of-uniform varies. Nevertheless, he hardly ever is out-of-uniform.

Isaac is in fantastic condition and keeps his body in great shape to avoid faltering in his duties.

Personality:
Isaac Graanz is known for his sternness with his men. He has a belief that hard work will take you places, as evidence by his high rank at such a young age. He is both respected and slightly feared by the soldiers as a hardworking, hard-arsed leader but also as someone who cares deeply for his rank, post, country, and men. That being said, he takes absolutely no BS men, and rarely accepts excuses and the classic "one more chance line". Isaac is also respecting of the honorific's in a soldier, and will salute and add the honorific "sir" or "mam" to any above him, and expects the same things in return to those below him. He takes offense if anyone should not use honorifics, as most other military men and women would. Isaac is a strict believer in the rules of Alchemy, taking to the Laws of Equivalent Exchange, and scorns and looks down upon those who have disregarded these laws.

Besides that, Isaac is generally humble about taking power, but is also not afraid to lead when necessary. He would do whatever is necessary to protect his country and it's people.

History: Isaac was born in a small village above South City, a little to the south of Dublith. It was apparent at young age that he had a talent for Alchemy, but never exploited it until much later in his life. He made his way to Dublith while growing up, and when he discovered his dream of joining the military, he knew he couldn't make it to the top and help defend the country of Amestris from Dublith, so he made his ways to South City, and rose from those ranks, becoming a Warrant Officer by age 17. He soon learned of his abilities in Alchemy as well. After studying for a while, he became a State Alchemist at the age of 19 (Which is Major equivalent in the Amestris military), and from then on embraced himself as both a soldier and a State Alchemist. He had an active hand in the Ishvalan Civil War, where he was promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel for his abilities to lead and for his bravery. Since the war, Isaac was promoted again to Colonel for containing a possible crisis in East City with an outbreak of xylica, but this has never gone on record in the public, as they wanted to avoid any possible panic. Since, Isaac remained in charge of South City's military hub until recently being transferred to Central City less than a year ago. He has been, and still is, a favorite of the top military officials to be used to quell potential crisis's as well as to keep things in order. (Possibly a reason he might have been called upon to help find the Panacea).

Weapons: Isaac carries a few weapons, but has a few stamper forms of the transmutation circle which he developed himself. He carries the stampers with him wherever he goes, making it easy for him to use Transmutation circles whenever he needs to without having to waste time by drawing it out. With a simple stamp, the Transmutation Circle is shown with ink on the desired spot. He has a stamper for one of the primary elements: earth. He also has a stamper he applies to metal, particularly some of his rifles and pistols, as well as a few others, including a Transmutation Array Stamper. Isaac also has on his wrists bands made of rock to help with his Earth Element Transmutations.

However, he was in the military long before he was a State Alchemist, and as such has a knowledge of how to use a wide variety of standard-issue weapons.

Alchemy: Isaac Graanz is known by his Alchemist Codename "The Earth Alchemist" because of how effectively he uses his Alchemy on the three main Transmutation types, including Comprehension, Deconstruction, Reconstruction with regard to the Earth Element. Isaac also carries Alchemic Stampers, which he uses to aid him in faster use of the basic three Transmutation types on earth. Isaac uses these Stampers, (he has about 4 one for his primary element Earth, and two more for Silicon as well one for a Transmutation Array) as a way of helping him excel in using the Earth Element. For example, with his understanding of Comprehension, Deconstruction, and Reconstruction, Isaac uses a Stamper to create something primarily using Earth, such as a giant spike, from a part of a wall. Isaac can also manipulate his two rock wristbands into weapons for combat, such as rock boxing gloves over his own fists. However, because earth and rock has such a wide composition, he can create other such weapons from rocks, including cement, glass, and also certain types of electrical steel. However, this requires an almost equivalent proportion of each in order to create this.

Isaac also uses the Stamper of the Transmutation Array and applies it to object, usually those that are composed of oxygen and silicon, the most abundant materials in rock. This provides quick breakdown and destruction of anything that is made primarily of earth, but because of the high volume of oxygen in the human body, he can manipulate it on a person as well, with mixed results. The human body contains little silicon, and has a large traces of carbon and nitrogen. With these abilities, Isaac has earned a reputation of a master of Earth Alchemy, and anything remotely related to earth Alchemy.

RP Sample: (This is a sample of a battle, though I very much doubt he will participate in it directly, although it's not impossible).

Isaac ran towards the corner as he tried to gain a foothold over his opponent. The being had been chasing him down passed a dozen blocks, and Isaac couldn't gain any foothold, and most of his conventional weaponry had been ineffective thus far. Isaac shot once more at the oncoming being, and the bullet lodges deep into his head, but in a form of red energy, he was able to recover and continued towards Isaac.

Isaac cursed as he witnessed this, wondering what kind of strange creature he had run into. He ran down a corridor and thought up a strategy. He took out his Earth Transmutation Circle Stamper from his pocket and stamped it to the wall of the alley. The being followed him into it, and waited there for a moment before charging at Isaac. As the being approached, he activated the circle, and in a flash, a giant spike slung out of the transmutation and lodged right into the stomach of the being. It was enormous, and even as it tried to struggle to regenerate itself, the spike was still lodged inside it's stomach. Before having a chance to pull it out with his hands, or even attempted to, Isaac took out his Transmutation Array Stamper and used the destructive magic to destroy his hands. This was a risky move, as the Transmutation Array was made for destruction of earth, not people. Nevertheless, the results were relatively the same, although the hands were not completely gone, they were damaged and rotting. The being screamed in pain, and as the spike was still inside him, probably couldn't focus to revive his arms. Red electrical energy pulsed around the being as it screamed in pain.

Multiple military guards came and examined the lodged being. They saluted the Colonel, who saluted back at them.

"This one has been causing a lot of trouble around here. I suggest we move him with utter care and caution, as it is a feisty one, to say the least. We must have him secure at all times. Call in a few State Alchemists to help move him."

The personnel looked at each other and then replied. "Sir, yes sir!" Isaac moved back towards his office, completely aware that the men were afraid of staying with that strange being all by themselves until backup arrives, but there were other, possibly more dangerous matter Isaac Graanz had to deal with.

Name: Aria Thorne
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Profession: Healer/Apprentice doctor
Appearance: A dainty little lady. She stands no more than 5'3" with a slender, but not frail, constitution. Curls of dark brown hair frame her doughy, childlike face, falling down just past her shoulders in ringlets. She has clear, arctic blue eyes, long lashes, small nose and a pointy chin, further accentuating her somewhat innocent expression. Her skin is astonishingly pale, akin to a porcelain doll, having avoided the sun for most of her life. She wears a thin, long sleeved white shirt. A sleeveless indigo dress, buttoned from collar to the bottom, is worn over it, stopping just above her knees. Black leggings and plain, brown traveler's boots complete the simple outfit. She usually carries around a relatively large gray satchel, filled with what she considers her most important items.

Personality: Odd, to say the least. She tends to be whimsical and random, confusing those around her. Deep at heart, Aria is a kind person, and she certainly strived to become a doctor not because of the monetary gains, but because she genuinely desired to help people. However, she is socially awkward. She has trouble making friends and because of that, often comes off as lonely and quiet. Her thirst for knowledge is strong and unrivaled. She is endlessly curious and adopts a rather childlike demeanor when it comes to finding out new information about anything - current events, medicine, people, etc.

Aria tends to say things at the most inopportune moments, partially due to her observant nature. Her intentions are nothing but good, but she has difficulty expressing them into words. She loves the art of medicine and continuously works hard improving her craft. Although a bit eccentric, she is an intelligent and bright young woman, capable of achieving great things with her healing. Of course, there is a small part of her that plainly yearns for acceptance. By being around and helping people, she hopes to fulfill that wish and fit in somewhere.

When confronted, Aria tends to, for a lack of a better phrase, chicken out. She dislikes conflict and is keen on approaching problems as peacefully as possible. She will defend herself and others when necessary, but never in a raised voice and certainly not in fists.

History:

Born in the more privileged part of Amestris, Aria was raised in a family of doctors and esteemed state alchemists. From a young age, she enjoyed toying with alchemy and using it for herself. She enjoyed the feeling of having power at her fingertips and vowed to become a great state alchemist. However, at the age of twelve, a small mistake in her alchemy caused a deep wound on her mother's arm, forcing her to rethink her reasons for using alchemy. After months of pondering and reflection, Aria decided the path of a doctor was far more suited for her, and her personality quickly did a 180, just as she entered her teenage years.

No longer as bold and more thoughtful, Aria began to study medicine and alchemy's uses in medicine. Her abilities might have remained subpar had she not run into a lone traveler from Xing. Noticing her talent, he opted to teach her a tiny portion of alkahestry, strenghthening her skills. They parted not long after, but Aria would spend the following years honing her healing abilities with the scraps of knowledge the stranger left behind, volunteering at local hospitals, helping doctors, as well as curing miscellaneous ailments of her neighbors. She eventually decided to begin studying in order to become an official doctor, but before she could do so, she was offered a position on a team to find Panacea. Although dubious of its existence, Aria immediately accepted, reasoning with herself that any hope, no matter how improbable, is still hope.

Weapons: She carries numerous equipment in her bag for her healing - chalks, markers, daggers, sticks, pins, etc.

Alchemy: She mainly uses her alchemy to help heal others. Keeping the basics of alkaestry in mind, she is able to transmit life flow through the human body to speed up her healing, using purification circles instead of transmutation circles. However, she is still capable of using the latter, but her skills in that area are not the strongest and she often takes too long thinking of what to transmute. It should be noted that she is unusually adept at transmuting shields, though. When in trouble or in a state of panic, she tends to conjure up barriers from ground, i.e. a shield of stone. She can rarely think fast enough to transmute anything offensive.

The premise of alkaestry relies on one's ability to ascertain the 'chi;' all Aria does is use that bit of knowledge to help her. She is by no means a master at it, but combined with her knowledge of medicine and years of experience, she is formidable as a healer.

Name: Zegan Zoma
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Profession: Traveler
Appearance:

Personality:
History:
Weapons: Alchemy and a katana strapped to his left side. The katana is 24 inches long and is single edged. The hilt's pommel is crescent and the grip is made from metal, wrapped with leather, and held by glue and a wire wrapping around the leather in a helix. Its sheath is made of wood that has been carved from a branched and polished, and at the end is a metal piece where the tip of the sword is. A leather strap is bolted down in the middle to help carry the sword and sheath.

Alchemy: Zegan has transmutation symbols tattooed on his shoulders, the back of his hands, and the palms of his hands. The symbol for water
20px-Alchemy_water_symbol.svg.png
is an upside down Triangle. This symbol is on both of his shoulders and the back of his hands. The symbol of iron
20px-Mars_symbol.svg.png
is the symbol of a male, or mercury. This symbol is only on the palms his hands.

He uses the water symbol on the back of his hands to absorb the water and wraps it around his arm or arms. Then he uses the symbols on his shoulders to keep the water in place by using the 44% of water in his skin. He then uses the same symbols on his hands again to change to form of the water into either a weapon or a shield. Then, by using the 82% of water in his blood, he takes the iron from his blood, then transmute it into the water using the iron symbol on the palms of his hands, turning the water as hard as iron.

Because tree's are 75% water, he can freely use the water from the tree to his advantage. The drawback to using the water as a weapon or shield is that he can't stabilize it for very long. Depending on how much water is used, it can last from 30 minutes up to 2 hours. Another drawback is that taking the iron from his blood weakens his immune system, causing him to get sick much more easily. The last drawback is that he can only use it as a melee weapon, and can't use it as a long-range weapon. This can be somewhat fixed by using the water as a spear or a scythe, but if the water leaves his hands ever, it turns back too normal.

RP Sample:

And yes, the symbols are real. I looked them up before rewriting this. Also, not done, still gotta work on the other stuff, but please tell me what you think so far.

Name: Lillian Archer / Alexandra Troy

Age: 29

Gender: Female

Profession: Vigilante, smuggler, private investigator, moonshiner, bounty hunter, arms dealer, former State Alchemist ("Breacher Alchemist")

Appearance: Lillian/Alexandra is a tall woman, standing at around 5'8". While not quite as stacked as she would want to be, she still has a suitably narrow waist and reasonably wide hips (32-22-34). Her hair is short, straight, and quite unruly, with numerous stray strands standing up and waving about even with clips in place; she has also been known to tie off her hair into twintails on occasion. She is a natural blonde, though after deserting the State Military, she used alchemy to change her hair color to dark brown. Her eyes are a flat, unremarkable shade of brown.

Lillian's typical attire consists of a white collared long-sleeved blouse, a black and gray pinstriped blazer, a black tie, black leather fingerless gloves with embroidered transmutation circles, and black hot pants held up by suspenders; she sometimes accentuates this outfit with a black fedora. Legwear and shoes tend to vary; she usually wears black knee socks and black leather combat boots, though she changes over to black silk thigh-high stockings and black leather Mary Janes for formal occasions (which also has the effect of giving her grade A zettai ryouiki). She carries her main sidearms in cross-draw shoulder holsters, while her backup piece is kept in a holster strapped to the outside of her right thigh; she also has at least one knife in its scabbard strapped to her left thigh.

Personality: In three words, cocky, snarky, and rebellious. While not exactly boastful, Lillian/Alexandra is still extremely confident in her abilities as an alchemist, gunslinger, and knife fighter and will usually not hesitate to let people know in her own subtle manner; she can still be humble if the situation calls for it, though. Her sense of humor is generally quite dry; she typically has at least one snide comment prepared for every situation, and she almost never passes up any opportunity to wisecrack at another person's expense. Due to various past experiences, she tends to have very little respect for authority of any kind; she is a staunch supporter of personal liberties and takes a very dim view of those who would want to infringe on people's rights in any way. While she does not mind taking orders, she ultimately keeps her own counsel on what to follow and is all too willing to disobey her erstwhile superiors in order to serve her own purposes.

Lillian's overbearing and sarcastic demeanor is a mask, in more ways than one. Those who are unfamiliar with her tend to underestimate her abilities, easily overlooking the fact that she really is just that good; she can be a highly clever and tenacious opponent, making up for any deficiencies in skill with creativity and sheer determination. Needless to say, she is an extremely dirty fighter, willing to do just about anything in order to triumph against her enemies; she'd kill her opponent in a fair fight, or if she thought her opponent was going to start a fair fight.

Of course, given the circumstances of her past, it should be clear that Lillian is an extremely broken woman, still harboring significant feelings of bitterness and resentment stemming from her abusive childhood and her experiences in the Ishvalan Civil War. She prefers not to dwell on her past too much, though, because she knows all too well that there are more far important things to worry about, like how much money will be in her next paycheck or how many bullets are left in her pistol's magazine. Paradoxically, she still has a strong faith in humanity, and she puts great stock in the fundamental goodness of both herself and others. Ultimately, she is a highly compassionate woman who can always be counted on to do the right thing, even if her methods aren't exactly clean.

History: (EXTREMELY lengthy, placed under a spoiler cut so as not to stretch the page too much...)

Spoiler:

Weapons: Lillian/Alexandra has been known to utilize a wide variety of firearms. Her favored sidearms are the Colt M1911A1, Browning Hi-Power, and wz. 35 Vis; other pistols in her possession include two Mauser C96s (a Bolo Mauser and an M712 Schnellfeuer), a Tokarev TT-33, and three different .380 ACP pistols (specifically, a Beretta M1934, a Colt M1908 Pocket Hammerless, and a Walther PPK). She typically carries the M1911 and the Vis as her main sidearms, with the M1908 Pocket Hammerless as her backup piece. For covert operations, her M1911, Hi-Power, M1934, and PPK all have threaded barrels that can accept silencers.

For situations where heavier firepower is required, Lillian does not hesitate to call upon bigger guns. Her favorites for close-range work are the Thompson M1921 (fitted with a drum magazine and carried around in a violin case, of course) and the Colt Monitor, as well as a milspec Winchester M1897 fitted with a bayonet and a sawed-off Browning Auto-5. For long-distance work, she relies on her old Springfield M1903 service rifle. Other longarms in her possession include a PPSh-41 (with both box and drum magazines), a Sten Mark IIS, and an MP40. Lillian also makes occasional use of grenades, such as Mills bombs, F1s, and Model 24s.

Even without her plethora of guns, Lillian is still a dangerous close-quarters fighter, particularly with knives. She is especially fond of her old military-issue KA-BAR, Fairbain-Sykes Fighting Knife, and M1905 and M1917 bayonets, though she has been known to use other blades in combat. Of course, she can also use her alchemy as a direct offensive weapon, though she typically only does so as a last resort.

Alchemy: As befitting her former title of "Breacher Alchemist," Lillian/Alexandra is particularly adept at demolitions. Her preferred media are metal, earth, and stone, all of which she can reshape in much the same way as a potter would clay. In her days as a State Alchemist, she lived up to her title and earned a reputation for being a fortress buster, using her alchemy to break through the Ishvalans' defensive lines (reshaping wire obstacles, disarming or prematurely detonating explosives, filling in trenches, breaching walls and other barriers, breaking into bank vaults, et cetera). Of course, she was also capable of using her abilities for constructive purposes, such as improvising explosives (the Jam Tin Grenade was a particular favorite of hers), repairing weapons and other equipment, setting up defensive positions for the Amestrian forces, and even manufacturing guns (mostly simple designs such as the Sten and PPSh-41) out in the field. Nowadays, Lillian almost exclusively uses her alchemy for repair work and other relatively minor duties, though she can still (literally) bring down the house if need be.

One of the more unusual applications of Lillian's alchemic skills was for moonshining. Considering the hazards inherent to illegal alcohol manufacturing, Lillian needed a way to quickly and effectively remove any impurities or contaminants from her products, and alchemy proved to be just the ticket for her. Alchemically purifying moonshine involves shifting the atomic and molecular composition of the product, transforming unwanted compounds like methanol, acetone, glycols, and aldehydes into regular water and ethanol. Of course, Lillian is easily capable of performing the reverse, tainting alcohol instead of purifying it (typically by increasing the methanol content); she can also alter the chemical compositions of people's bodily fluids, with mixed success depending on the desired end result.

Lillian facilitates most of her alchemy via the transmutation circles embroidered on her gloves. For more complex transmutations or for those not involving either earth or water, she must have to draw the circles herself; she typically has a few of these "non-standard" transmutation circless scrawled on pieces of paper that she keeps with her, though there have been times when she's had to draw them completely on the fly (read: while in combat).

RP Sample: (One of many assignments that Lillian/Alexandra took prior to the start of the story...)

Captain Malcolm Dryden had been assigned to manage mining operations in the town of Youswell after the previous military governor had been implicated in an embezzlement scheme. However, Captain Dryden proved to be far more corrupt than his predecessor ever was, raising taxes even more while simultaneously slashing the wages of Youswell's inhabitants to all-time lows. His greed did not stop even there, for he started selling military secrets to enemy nations in order to further line his deepening pockets, though few knew of his treason. Youswell's citizens could scarcely trust the State Military a second time, so they chose to hire outside help to deal with the problem once and for all. They brought in Alexandra Troy.

Needless to say, Captain Dryden was in for a very unpleasant surprise when he walked into his personal office in his mansion on that fateful night. The first thing he noticed when he entered the room was that his personal safe had been cracked open and completely emptied. "Interesting things you have in that safe of yours, Captain," Alexandra spoke up. "Gouging the residents of this town is one thing, but selling secrets? Seriously? If the folks back at East HQ weren't unhappy with you before, they'd definitely be unhappy now."

Captain Dryden turned to face the female vigilante as he walked over to his desk and sat down in his chair. "If you think those theatrics are supposed to scare me," he remarked as he reached into his drawer for his gun, "you've got the wrong man, Miss Troy. Besides, if East HQ was so sure that I was bent, they'd send one of their own to do the job, not a freelancer like yourself. Even in my relatively low position, I still know what goes on around me." The corrupt captain brought up his service piece, a bog-standard FN M1910, and aimed directly at Alexandra. "A shame, really. We barely got to know each other."

Captain Dryden pulled the trigger, only to hear the clicking of the firing pin. Alexandra simply produced the M1910's magazine from her blazer pocket and flashed a mocking smile at him. "I know where you keep your gun. That's gotta count for something."

The captain chuckled mirthlessly. "True," he said. "So, how'd they die?"

"Those worthless bodyguards of yours?" Alexandra replied with a question of her own. "You didn't see my handiwork on your way in? Rest assured, they ain't gonna be resting very well, I'll tell you that much."

Captain Dryden's gaze settled on the still-bleeding cut on Alexandra's left cheek. "You've killed so many people, I doubt you still feel anything," he remarked.

"Actually, I still feel something when I kill," Alexandra quipped as she pulled out a silenced Colt M1911A1 and double-tapped Captain Dryden directly in the heart. "Recoil." She let loose with a mirthless chuckle of her own as she collected her papers and picked up the captain's dropped gun. She knew that her payment wouldn't be much, but at least she did the right thing for the inhabitants of Youswell. East HQ would later receive the incriminating documents from Captain Dryden's safe, along with a lengthy and detailed letter telling them to either find someone who wasn't hopelessly corrupt or let the people run their own town for once. All in a day's work for the woman who once called herself Lillian Archer, the Breacher Alchemist.

Well, I won't be accepting based on first-come first-serve. The RP sample exists so I can weed out potential RPers that might impede the quality of the RP overall. I can't accept everyone, unfortunately.

In that case, I'll get an SU up probably in like 24-28 hours!

Name: Bradley Doc Swisher

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Profession: Automobile Mechanic [temporary]

Appearance: Standing at a respectable six-foot two-inches and weighing nearly two hundred pounds in strength, Bradley radiates an intimidating aura. He often sports a black bandana that wraps around his head but doesn't cover the top, which makes for the top of his hair to be bleached golden by the sun while the sides remain darker, concealed by the stereotypical mechanic headgear. This also causes his hair to appear frazzled and unkempt, especially when uncovered. Bradley's eyes are a very gentle amber shade and are naturally like giant moons in the center of his head, between them originating his long, prominent nose. Thick eyebrows as dark as his untainted, original hair color sit above them, but it would be a mistake to call them bushy as they are cleanly defined. Bradley has lips of a large width but that hardly bulge- they're rather flat, actually. It isn't uncommon to spot dark stubble sprouting on his square jaw and chin, but he tries to keep his face smooth when he can. On lower stomach is a transmutation circle embedded into the skin.

Baggy cargo pants and a grease-smeared wifebeater are Bradley's working attire, with a black smudge sometimes on his cheek or forehead. He owns circular spectacles but avoids wearing them unless absolutely necessary.

Personality: On the exterior, Mr. Swisher seems to be a rather normal, likable man. He has a keen sense of humor, especially for sarcasm, but has manners enough to know when to repress joking comments, particularly around the wealthy. Generally people flock towards his charisma and charm, though he remains modest enough, further augmenting his popularity. Surprisingly, Bradley's book smart outmatches his street smarts. Yes, he is adequately literate and has a full education, but his natural intellect lies in his self-taught areas. He is most adept in assembling, rearranging and disassembling- objects and elements alike. He is fascinated with how things work and frequently dismantles things in the rapidly expanding branch of technology to discover how they tick, sometimes attempting to create his own inventions.

But Bradley has a very personal, buried side. Despite being so respected and admired, he is incredibly self conscious, always over-concerned with how his comments and actions will be observed and analyzed. This worry is hidden and is highly unexpected but is always haunting in the back of his mind. Stubbornness encompasses his entire personality, meaning that he always has to get what he wants and won't back down until he does. Subtly, Bradley manipulates others to achieve his ends since he's typically smarter than his subjects and can easily sway them. But being stubborn also means that he always stands by his loyalties, which are few but strong.

History: The Swishers first made their dwelling in a small village in the Northern Amestris but were transferred to EastCity when Charles Swisher, Bradley's father, was promoted to a Lieutenant to serve at the military base there. The year was 1902 and the Ishvalan conflict was intensifying. Bradley was 11. His father was then dragged into the deceitful fray, and returned a year later due to his psychological insufficiency and/or degeneration, forever changed. Charles distanced himself from his wife and son, never speaking about his brief but horrific experience. He began relying heavily on the liquor and in his drunk fits would ramble about and draw transmutation circles but was never violent or dangerous. The entire city was aware of Charles' condition, and so Bradley was alienated at school, not one child showing his sympathy or kindness, deriving his biting self consciousness. Curious about his father's obsession and alone, he began studying up on transmutation circles and therein delved into Alchemy. A few years passed and Bradley, in his early teen years, was able to transmute things, though reaching failure far more often than success. He wasn't particularly adept at drawing transmutation circles but instead copied his father's drunken art. When Bradley was sixteen, during one of his father's untreated, undiagnosed drunkard episodes, his father violently pinned him to the ground, rabidly muttering about Alchemy with a small dagger in his hand. In the morning, Bradley had a new scar on his abdominals- one in the shape of a transmutation circle. In the police investigation, Charles was found to have been sober. Finally he was induced into an asylum. Mrs. Swisher, by this time, was completely shattered. So after a few more years of partially-healing at home with his mother, Bradley had honed his transmuting skills, relying on the abominable gift carved into his hand as a tool to skip out on drawing a transmutation circle. Seeing that a new romance was starting to bud between his mother and another man and that he was no longer needed, Bradley moved to Central City when he was 20 where he took up jobs using Alchemy and his intuition to repair the aristocrats' fancy automobiles. Starting over, the young adult man was no longer subjected to discriminatory alienation and found that he flourishing socially in the community. He has since gained quite a bit of renown in his job, but Bradley plans on doing something better with his Alchemy, though nothing in the military.

Weapon: He has multiple repairing tools, such as a wrench, screw driver, etc in his portable tool bag and also carries a small but sentimental dagger and a flask of water, used for transmuting only.

Alchemy: Bradley's specialty is state change, particularly heating. After pressing his hands to his stomach in order to activate his transmutation circle and placing them on the item, he generally proceeds to alter the motion and increase or decreasing the kinetic energy of atoms of whatever he's transmuting so that they vibrate faster or slower, effectively causing heating or cooling.

Note: He can't transmute air into fire, but can only heat it.

Bradley used this method in his job to start engines and engine parts and to clean them with hot water, mostly. In the little experience of battle that he has Bradley was able to burn skin and heat up clothing, the ground and air, realizing that he could cool all of these things as well. If a critical, life-or-death situation arose he has planned that he would evaporate or freeze the water in his foe's body. This fighting style forces the alchemist to be mainly physical as he needs to touch that which he is transmuting, except for when altering air or the ground or the water thrown from his flask, which obviously can be done at a distance.

RP Sample: "You won't dance?" The disappointment in her voice was so chilling that Bradley could feel his heart physically sink a few more inches.

The restaurant was vibrating with soothing chatter, lovers exchanging unbreakable remarks under the dim lighting in their booths. He hadn't been expecting such a classy joint and was for more underdressed than Clarice, the beautifully young woman seated across from him, and everyone else in the low-ceilinged room, even the waiters. Sweaty palms and a very uptight posture showed that Bradley was unnerved by his attire, which was what first caused his heart to sink. And now she wanted to move to the tiled floor designated for slow dancing from the grand piano placed in front of the elegant red curtain, to throw themselves up for the perceptive eyes to judge. His common brown eyes slowly moved from her waist to her narrow eyes of the most royal blue.

"I don't think you'd want to dance with me; I'm highly uncoordinated." False, he had quite keen coordination and happened to be a very smooth dancer. Clarice's dainty red lips curled up, and her short arm of fair skin reached across the table, the silver bracelet glittering even under such dim lights. Surely much of her outfit was borrowed, for she hadn't such luxuries. She grasped his strong hand, which only made it sweat more.

"But I only want to dance with you, Bradley Doc. Your feet will end up more bruised than mine, I'm sure. Let's show these people how to loosen up, what do you say?" These people. She didn't feel a relation to the powerful aristocrats that frequented the restaurant and that Bradley had to endure every day? Didn't even desire one? Oh how his heart was exploding with affection. Clarice deserved better than a hushed dinner surrounded by arrogant upperclassmen. The only reason that the couple even was able to be seated at such a place was because the manager's car had broken down last week and after Bradley expertly revived it, the man realized he had left his wallet in the theater and instead of paying insisted that he would provide the alchemist and a guest with a free dinner because of the inconvenience. So the event wasn't even of Bradley's doing but was caused by another man's mistake.

"Clarice, dear," he started after a few moments of silence, gently squeezing her hand, "I'll dance with you, but not here. We don't belong here." Here sapphires bulged with surprise and something of a shade of relief. "To the bar?" Bradley Swisher was too scarred to ever drink, and his date knew that which attested to his desire to leave. She giggled and it seemed to echo through the entire the restaurant.

"Yes please!"

Tenshi Fallen's Sign-Up

YES! Thank you!

Name: Tenshi Fallen
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Profession: Helping Others (No real profession)
Appearance: Silver is one of the few remaining with Ishvalan blood, but he is hybrid. His mother was not. The result was white hair and purple eyes (A mix of Ishvalan red and normal blue). Speaking of which, he has no pupils, as he is clearly blind. But his senses are extra-ordinary, and it's almost as if he could see just fine. He had his white hair short and spiked forward. His left ear was pierced with a cross earring, dangling from a chain. He has no general wardrobe, except that he always wears shorts (that go a bit past his knees, baggy but not saggy) and either a T-shirt or a sleeveless shirt. Usually black shorts and whtie or light blue shirts, occasionally he wears his white hoodie. He has a horizontal slashing scar across his face. (NOT COPYING SCAR the character, if you've been in an RP with me, the scar is always there.) He wears sandals, not shoes. His face shows his personality. He is decently tall, standing around 5'11" or 5'12".
Personality: He is young, childish on occasion, but openly kind to people, and will help however he can, if they are kind people. He is quiet, but likes to see happy people, and he hopes to find some friends around his age.
History: As stated before, he is half-Ishvalan. That is really the only history that is known about him. Though there is a rumor, that he was born from heaven, that he fell from the sky, that he is an angel. Notably, he has wings, but he is able to dematerialize and rematerialize his wings via alchemy. There is no explanation of how, but he can create alchemy with his hands; He knows the truth. Some say he was simply born with it. Along the story, more will be revealed.
Weapons: Usually dual-blades (Meaning a knife in each hand, that is his style, extremely quick and skillful.) He loves knives, and can throw knives as well, with unbelievable accuracy.
Alchemy: Without Transmutation circles. His alchemy consists of fire (Yes, it fails to work in the rain XD), and creation and deconstruction of pretty much anything. He loves making beautiful jewels and gems, but not for money, but because he loves to look at them. His favorite stone is Amethyst, a wonderful purple stone that matches his eyes. He uses creation and destruction regularly, making his own place to stand or sit when one is unavailable.

RP Sample:

Tenshi felt a pang of sadness as a little girl stood crying on the corner. He knelt down and picked her chin up, looking at her eyes, his voice was soft and gentle, as usual.

"What has you crying, young child?"

The girl sniffled, tears dripping from her cheeks, and pointed up at a small green dot in the sky. "M-my b-b-balloon f-flew away f-from m-m-me..."

He smiled down at her as he stood up and then looked at it.

"Don't worry, young girl, I shall retrieve it..."

"R-really!?" She wiped her tears and looked confused up at Tenshi. "H-how?? You'd have to grow wings and--"

Tenshi's wings appeared in a burst of blue flames (Unlike most alchemy which bursts in red of black lightning, his is blue fire). They were large at full span, and they were shining, a royal blue color. He blasted into the air and quickly caught up to the balloon, and flew it down to the girl, landing gently on one knee. He wrapped the string of the balloon around her hand, and let his magnificent wings fold behind his back. He walked quietly down the road.

"Thank you, mister!!" The girl shouted at him as he left.

He lifted his hand and waved, turned his head and smiled.

"Don't thank me, I just want to help...!" He shouted back. And with that, he walked.

Well, I won't be accepting based on first-come first-serve. The RP sample exists so I can weed out potential RPers that might impede the quality of the RP overall. I can't accept everyone, unfortunately.

Well, you can cancel my reservation. I'm afraid i'm already in enough RPs, no matter how much I want to be in a FMA RP. ):

I really need time to work on my signups. Hopefully tomorrow... XD

Alright, going through what has been submitted...

Accepted: Lily, Cooker, CrossJHero

@Supervegeta: Could I get a little more information about your alchemy?

For anyone else, it's just a matter of quality. You can try and expand on things if you want, and I'll look it over and decide again.

I updated my SU. I gave more detail to the Alchemy section and changed it a little as well. I also changed the Weapons sections as well briefly. I hope this is ok, and that I'm accepted. :)
