  • After having no where to look for a list of sound raws, and nobody having the time to make one and publish it, I decided to make my own. It's ever expanding as i go farther in, but currently i have a small list of things, I'll add more later today, or when I have time again.

For clarification for people who don't know how to use sound, (mainly beginner scripters) It's really simple, just put sound, then 0x_ blank being the sound you want to use, so for instance sound 0xB for the bike ring ;D

    List of raws for sound:
    Spoiler:

Added some more after a long absence 1/26/10

If there's is any questions, don't hesitate to VM of PM me.

Yes! Thanks so much! I've been meaning to do this myself for quite a while.

You could knock out a whole bunch of sounds in a row by making a script with a textbox like:

    "0x1!"
    (Potion Heal Sound)

And you could write down whatever the sound was for the respective number.

    P.S. It's "runs" not "run's". "Run's" means "run is".

  • So today I updated the sound raws by profreading and correcting plasmids, as some of them were either wrong or actually something, so look at the top for more. I believe I went all the way to 3F this time, and I'll try to make the updating of this continous.

  • I apologize for reviving this thread but where did you get the sound list from?
    How did you find them?
    Any programs involved?

  • By testing them out via a script, I guess. Thus meaning that an emulator, a script compiler and eventually an map editor is all you need. Here's a script you could use for making your own list (which is totally unnecassary, since you've already got some lists in this thread), assuming you use XSE:
    Code:
    #dynamic 0x800000

    #org @main
    sound 0x8000
    buffernumber 0x0 0x8000
    msgbox @text 0x6
    addvar 0x8000 0x1
    end

    #org @text
    = Sound [buffer1] !
All you need to do then is just start the script ingame over and over again, write down the number and give the sound you hear a name. This works for many other comands, too, btw. (Say you'd want to make a list of items, you would use giveitem 0x8000 0x1 0x0 instead of sound 0x8000 ).

    Doesn't work...
Keeps giving my the clicking sound when pressing A.
I know the lists are there but they are not named correctly for ruby so I have no idea what is what. And I don't fancy changing one part of a script 130-ish times just to hear what they are.
Also I am using pokescript. I only use XSE to check the script in A-Map.

    NO! Nononononononoono!

Pokescript is outdated by XSE (By 5-7 years). XSE is a whole lot better. It has more updated commands, a better syntax, and is more widely used.

Learn XSE, and scripting will become a whole lot easier.

  • This might be a problem caused by the buggy sound command, which doesn't work in all ROMs, I suppose.

Someone in this thread already said that the sounds in Ruby are the same as in Firered, so - as I already said - it is totally unnecassary to work out a list yourself by using this script.

@shiny quagsire: You've got a point here, even though Pokescript has some advantages over XSE, such as the modifiable database. I don't really like personally, too, btw (waaah - too many commata/commas/whatever-the-right-plural-form-of-comma-is oO ). This is not the place to discuss that anyway.

The values are the same but the names aren't.
I've been looking for a fire sound but when I put the script in for that sound (the value supposed to be 0x8F) I get like some kind of a bell sound. Like the bike bell.

So I do need to work out what each sound is because the names are for Fire Red.
