Pokemon anime: thoughts and opinions for improvement you wish to see

Good morning, I would just like to hear other people's opinions spacificly about the anime. Here is my opinion:

"This is my opionion, but I really wish they would stop making pokemon a baby show. It's an anime, not an American kids show. Animes are supposed to have subtitles if the watcher wants to watch in subs, but it's really difficult to find English subbed pokemon episodes. In addition, I feel like the anime series should have grown with us, not stayed exactly the same with everyone being perpetually 10 years old and female characters coming and going every year or so. Let's look at fairytail as an example to compare with pokemon.
Fairytail does have English subs and dubs.
Fairytail does not switch out main characters and never speaks of them again (eldolas characters do not count because they are technically the same main characters and are spoken about multiple times afterwards)
Fairytail grew with us. The relationships we see in fairytail grew from barely knowing each other or being friends to being best friends and or lovers (ships).

In my opinion, (yes I know fairytail hasn't been running as long as pokemon) pokemon should have had these characteristics just like fairyatil. Pokemon should have just ended when they wanted to start back up with May and Max, and instead of starting again with May and Max and Ash and Brock, they should have created a whole new series for pokemon with all new characters or followed the story of characters we met on the way instead of making Ash continue his journey with all new characters.

Anime was never meant to be longer than a few seasons if that.

Another option would be for Ash to continue his journey with Misty and Brock by sometimes running into new characters like May, Dawn, etc and helping those new characters temporarily on their way.

I stopped watching pokemon once they got rid of Misty for good. Why? Because it became meaningless if the anime was just going to throw away characters everytime you got attached to them.

I also seriously hate how Ash never seems to age. I think this is a major flaw in more than one anime and makes it almost pointless to have a story. Anime should be telling us a chronological story of some sort with allowance for flashbacks and future sights, because without the story, all we have is a baby show. And that--a baby show--is just what pokemon has become."

Please let me know what you think. I was going to write a blog, but I don't have the member status :/ and posting it anywhere else isn't seeming to get much attention.

There was another thread for discussion, but it was so broad, I don't think one person could read all the comments in one day; so I made a new thread for the anime only discussions.

Did you not like the introduction to so many pokemon at once? I felt the writers kind of rushed us into new pokemon too quickly, and made pokemon really complicated very quickly as well...

Okay--

-- First , Follow One Specific Storyline and One main goal! Don't try to follow multiple goal of multiple character that lead to multiple storyline.

-- Improve the gag and Comedy of the series.

-- Bring new challenge for Ash to overcome! Gym-leader aren't challenging anymore after Ash beaten 46 gym-leader. People want to see Ash beating other trainer beside Gym-leader & Rookie.

-- Bring A Special group of Rivals who are so accomplished ,famous and strong that they doesn't need to beat Ash to prove then strength.

-- Create Ash's desire to be acknowledge by them!

--Screw the Friendly rival because they are boring! People didn't hate Trip for being a jerk , They hate him for receiving favoritism! Georgia & Burgundy were better rival then him despite being jerk.

--Create more bizarre character like Georgia , Burgundy , Mirror-Ash , Mrror-Serena , Ursula , Conway , Gary (Kento Verson) , Morrison & Giselle

--Screw The modest & formal relationship between Ash , Serena & Clemont ! People want to see "Love & Hate" relationship in the Main group.

--Let Ash megevolve his Pokemon.

--Give Ash a Pokemon that is more rare , uncommon , Powerful , Majestic & Mystical then Iris's Dragonite.

--It would be fun if Ash develop One-side crush on other girl! Ash did got infatuated with Giselle So he's not immune from girls charm. Its simply other girls except Giselle wasn't cute enough to attract him.

-- The Anime is "Too Repetitive" ! So let Ash win a League and start a new journey with a new goal and new story.

--Stop favoring other character over Ash because its ultimately ruined Bw series! Even "Best Wishs" would have been a great series if Writers didn't favor every single character over Ash . IT WAS FAVORITISM THAT RUINED BW SERIES.

Ok, so let's not forget what the main objective is for the anime. That is to attract new viewers to the games. The producers basically re-create ash every season. That is why Ash leaves all his pokemon behind and pikachu gets downgraded. In a perfect world, yes Ash would have be league champion by now. Nintendo is more concerned about continuing it's product than appeasing older viewers. Nintendo can essentially continue running their game/show for as long as they like as long as they start over from square one. Yes that suck for us long time viewers, but it's good for the show in the long run. How much fun would it be for new viewers to watch pikachu ohko every pokemon in every episode.

I love how every new region allows Ash to reinvent himself as a new trainer. We, as older viewers, can enjoy watching him go through a new region every time, rather than watching pikachu solo an entire league. People hate on Ash for many reasons, but if you PM me, I guarantee I have a logical comeback for every reason.

Misty & Gary receive lesser screen-time then Serena But they were still better character then her.
There is no point in wasting Screen-time on her since her entire Characterization is Wrong.
Its same as Trip & Cameron!
Writer sacrificed Ash and plotline just so Trip & Cameron can get a little attention But it turn them into the most hated character in Pokemon.
While Gary had little screen-time yet he was 100 time better then them because he had the right characterization for the right series at the right time.
Honestly , Writers should screwed Trip and put more focus on Ash by giving him a Rival that develop him as a better trainer.
After all , Rivals only exist to develop the Protagonist , They doesn't exist to develop themselves.
Truth is , Writer should create a Specific Storyline and only Focus on Characters who're important for the story and screw the rest.

I have a better idea , How about The Producer start a New series with a brand new Protagonist for Newer Fans ? Since Producer want to attract new fans and it not easy to catch up to an Anime with a protagonist lasting for 15 year .
FYI : Pokemon is not at the same category as Doraemon and Crayon Shin-chan So you can't start the series from any point .
There are a lot of different--

--1) Endless Anime like Doreamon doesn't follow continuity , But Pokemon does

--2) The Main Cast of Doraemon remain unchanged , But Pokemon's cast change with every series with only Ash & Team Rocket remaining.

3) The Main character of Doreamon/Crayon Shin-chan /Yokai Watch doesn't have any Goal to achieve or Mission to complete , But Pokemon follow Ash's goal to be a Pokemon-Master as he on a mission to win League.

--4) Doraemon episode doesn't follow any order , Pokemon does.

--5) Whatever happen to One episode of Doreamon hardly doesn't affect the entire series , But whatever happen to One episode of Pokemon affect the entire series.

--6) An episode of Doreamon is rewritten multiple time But not a single episode of Pokemon can be rewritten .

Pokemon is not same as Doraemon/Crayon Shinchan/Youkai Watch that focus on a daily life of a kid! Pokemon is more like "Naruto" that focus on an Underdog achieving his life long Dream.
So , If Producer want new Fans then he should dump the Old Protagonist ! Only Older Fan should have any problem with New Protagonist But they themselves screaming for Ash's replacement.
Unless , You think New Fans would have problem with replacing a Protagonist they barely know.
All the Producer need is for the New Protagonist to catch his own Pikachu!

Also , If Producer really cared for Game & Merchandise Promotion then they would give Ash to Mega-ring to Promote Megevolution ! Yet they are looking for alternate way to promote Megevolution without the Main Protagonist using it.

Here are some ideas.

First things first: Ash. should. grow. up.

Second, oaking Pikachu would be extremely healthy for the anime. Me and many other fans are sick of that mouse appearing on each and every single episode and the thought of Pikashipping gives me aids. Ash really should let other Pokemon shine. Something such as Gible or Snivy can very well replace Pikachu and be less annoying.

I'm against the idea of him getting a Lucario, Gardevoir, Mewtwo or a boxart/ridiculously OP legendary (something cuter, such as Mega Diancie, would be OK). I'm also not a fan of an Ash who can use aura, as that would make for a boring anime imo. I'm sick of crappy fanfictions who do that. Dark Ash isn't cool for the same reason. However, I'd be fine with something such as Milotic or Ninetales.

Ash getting a harem would be pretty cool. Like I know Pokemon is mainly about training, friendship and love between humans and Pokemon (no I'm not referring to humanxpokemon relationships who need to stay away), but I don't think it would hurt to see humanxhuman love. And I'd like to see a harem over only one relationship because tbh there are many girls who think highly of Ash and that would be more interesting. Yaoi and yuri really need to stay away, however. I also don't want to see sexual scenes. Pokemon after all is not, and was never meant to be porn. Also, I disagree with Ash only getting the "hotter" girls which all fanfictions emphasise. It could be something such as May, Dawn, Serena, Melody, Anabel, Miette, Zoey, Candice and Cynthia. Nine girls.

I am for Ash getting smarter, but I don't want to see him having his Pokemon OP. In fact I'd rather have him use strategical moves such as Stealth Rock and Toxic Spikes instead of just overpowering his opponents with lolblastburncharizard. That would be uncool and boring. I still want to see Ash winning (or losing) matches at the last Pokemon.

Also , The Anime should stop treating Pokemon as only a Pet or Tool for fight ! There are other thing Ash can do with his Pokemon and the anime should explode it .
Even Nobita can do various amazing & impossible thing because of Doreamon! Example--

--Nobita can go Back & forward of Time because of Doreamon's Time machine.

--Nobita can go anywhere in the world because of Doreamon's Anywhere Door.

--Nobita can fly by using the Bamboo-copter Doreamon given to him.

Ash can't do half of those stuff ! All he does is battle and that's why Kids doesn't find Pokemon that interest.
Writer need to show the amazing thing Trainers can do with their pokemon beside battling .
For example : Ghost Pokemon can separate Human Soul from body in Original series So may be Kids would love to see Ash traveling in his Astral Body to help someone.
May be , He can go to Ghost world to reunite a Ghost with another Ghost.
There are number of Pokemon who has amazing ability beside battling !
Such as Gothitelle can manipulate Space , Trevenant can control trees , Milotic can absorb negative feeling , Dragonair can control weather , Aegislesh can manipulate people mind , Ditto can transform into anything , Zorack can create illusion Kleki can open portal etc etc.
So Far , Ash has a Glalie that can control Ice but he never shown that ability.
Ash can fly only when he has Charizard but he barely does it ! Kids want to see A Charizard that take you to Sky , not sit on a sofa with you .
No wonder , Kids has no impression toward Megevolution Special despite Charizard! Because Alain only use Charizard for battle but Kids want to see more then battle.

One of things which i believe would help increase flopped ratings and descending popularity of pokemon series. But also honestly increase quality of storyline, development and plot creativity would be in stopping with character replacing altogether focusing older, successful characters who withstand tooth of time in proving to be working formula.

Its pointless to constantly add new companions, while forgetting about previous ones and unfinished stories like they never existed only destroying any possibility of ever having stable cast and continuity in this show.
Why not for a change invest more in already somewhat developed, established characters building on what we learned about them being took through deeper, more substantial growth?

Concept which was never all that much great to begin with in my opinion. Given how with Misty removal pokemon show reputation and following dropped massively among western auduence and further constant cast revamps in longer run did more harm than good because of being too excessive.

Because unlike other shows such as Fairy Tail, One Piece, Dragon ball, Naruto etc, etc. Who invested in consistent main cast with who viewers could develop emotional attachment to characters, root for them or symphatize with their sad past, failures and struggles. Following them on big journey through which protagonist feelings, personality, dreams and interests would unfold out. Feeling like we as viewers are growing with them as we watch those we grew to like going on all kind of new adventures, see those characters go on bigger, more challenging tests as they work in fulfilling dreams and deepen on relationships between themselves.

In Pokemon such thing never became reality. Replacing heavily adored characters(like Misty, May, Brock, Dawn etc) leaving their untapped potential and room for more development finishing what was started go down the drain turning show in product known for too much repetitiopn, weak storyline and no real plot or long lasting character development not having continuous story which builds on itself. Or continuity which is transferred on next region.

Instead of doing rinse and repeat with new companions ending underdeveloped and unfinished like many older friends eventually fading in obscurity and oblivion.

Writers should imo bring back replaced older main characters because it would be fresh, unpredictable and different to follow already somewhat experienced character growing forward and building on his friendship with Ash and others for change . Allowing us to learn more about their past, give them more development, experience new adventures and issues they would have with new pokemon they catch, enriching on their personalities and new fresh plots through which they could grow forward.

Having pokemon anime live up actually to its message of being treated as continuity based entity, acknowledge impact past friends imprinted and idea of adventure aspect and development of chemistry between friends which explore world becoming existant.

Personally i would welcome Misty becoming Ash traveling companion again because i found her highly enjoyable bringing lot of humor and fire in group dynamics and she has untapped potential to expand upon, being interesting to see follow up on her career ranking up as trainer.
There definitely exist lot of potential to take Misty forward. Enriching on her personality, backstory and goals through new fun sides she developed by going through her own adventires and life spent with sisters in meantime. Show new cool pokemon she caught. How much she improved and evolved as trainer in meantime.

Go on meaningful , original quest in advancing her dreams of becoming water pokemon master by entering tournaments with strong participants and possibly E4 member one day,. Mega evolve her own pokemon. Meet and learn from stronger trainers and reveal how much long separation might have affected her friendship with Ash and if she could find common language with new friends he gathered. Not being predictable and mundane type of character with lot of conflicts and unique traits charactristic to her flowing around.

Many would like to see original and very first main girl comeback in pokemon.

But im for return for any of past major characters in reality with writers delivering sequel of their adventures .

Because while good writing may be requirement in pretty much anything having even remote chance of coming out as natural, endearing and plausible in tv show your writing for.

At same time in order to have well established anime filled with quality strong continuity, recognition of existence from older plots or characters which left influence on story or currently active protagpnists like Ash is in my eyes necessity. Serving as bridge which connects pokemon anime with older sagas and history adding thus more depth to series. And makes it seem like its on going story which builds on itself, how previous events and strong friendship which left influence on anime storyline and Ash are acknowledged bringing more substance to him. Along with increasing ratings, income of money and people respect for writers work being more eager in following it.

Something which in't possible to achieve if you constantly do revamps and stop with any build up, development you made in your story from before forgetting about past and those who built story .

Due very bad continuity Ash journey and development suffers greatly as well, because whatever he was taught. Whatever bonds he created and formed before. Whatever development he underwent or achievements are forgotten about when his joiurney is restarted with connection to history being in most cases very weak or nobexistant. Happening on writers whim, rather than for plot requirements sustaining integrity of storyline.

Simply , The cast of Pokemon anime has to get rid of their modesty and politeness toward one another.

See , Misty doesn't gave a dam care about modesty when she point out Ash's flaw .
While , Ash likes to drag about himself like an actual child.
This is what missing from XY Series.
All the characters of Pokemon XY are just so modest that won't point out each other flaw just to maintain their formality. Thats what make their friendship so FAKE.
.Furthermore , I want Ash to be smart & competent but he should also show the immaturity of a 10 year old child. There are a lot of character like that including "Sharlock Homes".
FYI : BW Ash wasn't smart or Mature ! He was just plain stupid and weak.
