Simple premise: Rank the 18 types from favorite to least favorite. If you want, include a blurb about why each type is where it is, or tell us your favorite Pokemon of each type, or both. If a favorite pokemon is a dual-type, throw it with whichever one you think is best or whichever type you have another pokemon you want to mention.

9. Fighting
10. Psychic
11. Dragon
12. Normal
13. Rock
14. Ground
15. Flying
16. Poison -
17. Fire
18. Bug
Spoiler:
- Underrated and deserves more love. My monograss challenge has really opened my eyes to the beauty and power of this type, despite it's absurdly common weaknesses. Really, the reason it is this high is that nearly every Grass type looks awesome and feels awesome to use.
My favorite Grass type is a hard choice, but here I will say it's Serperior, the Regal Pokemon, and I'll throw the rest of them in with their secondary types. Serp just looks majestic. It's acquisition of Contrary made it useful, and it has since been the glue that bound a number of my teams together.

2. Water
Spoiler:
- Oh look, a second starter type. Unlike Grass, Water is here for it's competitive awesomeness. They are just good at everything. They can be bulky, specially offensive, physically offensive, or just all around awesome. I have used a Water type to fill basically every role in the competitive metagame at some point or another.
My favorite Water type has filled at least two of these roles on my various teams. Empoleon, the Emperor Pokemon, is an amazing Hazard controller, but I scarfed it for a while to great results.

3. Ice
Spoiler:
- My competitive Ice monotype has won me far more games than it should have, and that is due to Ice's sheer offensive power and GF's repeated attempts to make a Defensive Ice type. Again, the designs of most ice types are really cool. The trainers that use Ice types are generally level-headed and incredibly serious, something I wish I could be.
Avalugg, the Iceberg Pokemon. More like the aircraft carrier pokemon lel. YOU CANNOT KILL THIS THING WITH PHYSICAL ATTACKS.

4. Electric
Spoiler:
- The Electric type just brings consistent results. My first love as a type proved worthy through many Monotype battles. Most are hard to use competitively, but when I use one it very rarely fails me. Also, my best TCG deck ever (Eelektrik/Zekrom/Lanturn Prime) was an electric deck, and I loved using it. The designs are cool as well.
On that note, my favorite Electric type is Lanturn, the Light Pokemon. It is cute, and it's Defences are good enough for game usage. The TCG also impacted this decision, as I still have my 4 Lanturn Primes and the Victory Medal card they won me.

5. Steel
Spoiler:
- Steel is here for exactly the opposite reason Electric is. There is nothing consistent about this type, but when they do their job, they do it well and look and feel awesome doing it.
I hate fighting against Ferrothorn, the Thorn Pod Pokemon, but I damn well love my Banded set. So much fun to troll Taunt users with.

6. Fairy
Spoiler:
- Gardevoir, Mawile, Klefki. We're done here.
Mawile, the Deceiver Pokemon, is adorable. It's Mega is only slightly less adorable and hits like a truck.

7. Ghost
Spoiler:
- Is spooky. Fast, reliable Special attackers with loads of coverage moves. Awesome designs. There, were done.
A hard decision, but I'm putting Froslass, the Snow Land Pokemon, here. One of the cooler designs in the game and a very good competitive lead, as a 120 base Speed Taunt is hard to avoid, and Destiny Bond insures I win the trade.

8. Dark
Spoiler:
- Bite is one of those weak attacks that end up staying on your Pokemon until the E4 because Dark is such a great type. Most of my Dark types have been stupid fast Physical sweepers that have turned around countless battles.
This is the hardest decision on here, but Weavile, the Sharp Claw Pokemon, just nudges out Sharpedo. Fast and Hard-Hitting pokemon are generally my favorites, and Weavile's kit is one of the best for it. Also, it's design is cool.

9. Fighting
Spoiler:
- Gallade exists. Gets the edge over Psychic due to the amount of use I get out of it's pokemon's other type and it's use for type coverage.
Since no other fighting type comes close here, lets talk Gallade, the Blade Pokemon. Best design in the game. Learns tons of coverage moves. HAS A CAPE WHEN IT MEGAS. We are done here.

10. Psychic
Spoiler:
- Gallade exists. While the Psychic type probably has cooler pokemon on an overall scale, I just can never find a use for them on my teams.
Better late than never. Gardevoir, the Embrace Pokemon, is the one exception to the above. It's design is cool, and it's mega turns it into an awesome wallbreaker.

11. Dragon
Spoiler:
- Rawr. There is nothing interesting about this type, so I have placed it aimlessly in the middle. Move along.
I'm putting 2 pokemon here, and you will deal with it. Dialga, the Temporal Pokemon, and Giratina, the Renegade Pokemon, are being said together because they are the best designed cover legends (screw off, Rayquaza and Palkia). Giratina is cooler in the main series, but Dialga completely makes up for it with it's appearance in PMD2.

12. Normal
Spoiler:
- See Dragon.
I really don't have a favorite normal type, and I'm tempted to cheat and say Arceus here, but for now I will go with Furret, the Long Body Pokemon, because it's cute as ****. You cannot deny it.

13. Rock
Spoiler:
- See Dragon.
Rampardos, the Head Butt Pokemon (yes, that is it's actual species name), has a cool design and Attack stat.

14. Ground
Spoiler:
- I hated this type all through Gens 4 and 5, but recently I have started to appreciate it a little more. Still annoying as crap though.
Torterra, the Continent Pokemon, was my first starter ever, and it has remained dear to me. It's big, awesome, and going to stomp on your face if you don't get out of it's way right now.

15. Flying
Spoiler:
- This type has moved waaaay down the list recently. I either really like Flying types (Staraptor, Ninjask, Crobat) or completely despise them (Talonflame, Skarmory, Charizard). Ok, it's really the 3 I mentioned completely pissing me off and monoflying's OPness that drop it this low, and Crobat and Ninjask keeping it out of last.
Crobat, the Bat Pokemon, easily takes the role of my favorite Flying type because it has the one of the best designs in the game. Also, Banded Brave Bird hurts.

16. Poison -
Spoiler:
Poison types are great, as long as they have a cool 2nd type (Roserade, Drapion, Gengar) or an awesome design (Crobat, Roserade, Drapion, Gengar). This is another type where I absolutely love 4 of them, are ok with a few more, and despise the majority. Weezing and Muk always annoy me, Zubat and Golbat appear way too often, none of the bug/poisons even look all that good, and I'm not even the biggest fan of the rest of the Grass/Poisons.
Roserade, the Bouquet Pokemon, glides in as my favorite Poison type due to it's primary Grass typing, it's awesome design, and the thematic reason for it being half poison.

17. Fire
Spoiler:
- While the other two starter types appear at the top, Fire is banished to the bottom. There is 1 region out of the 6 where the Fire type starter is my favorite (Johto), and only one more where I would ever consider picking it (Sinnoh). Over time, I have grown to despise most Fire types because they either suck or don't look good (Charizard) or are way overrated (Charizard). Of course there are exceptions, but having a Fire type has never really been a necessity for me, so they have simply turned into an annoyance. Eventually T-Flame, Heatran (who is cool), and Charizard pissed me off enough in OU while Entei and Victini (who I also like) did so in UU to make me banish this type to the depths of hell.
Favorite Fire type? I'll have to say Heatran, the Lava Dome Pokemon, due to it's competitive usefulness and above average design.

18. Bug
Spoiler:
- Ugh. While I don't despise any Bugs more than I despise the Fire types above, I don't like nearly as many of them as the above types. Honestly, the bug type is alright for early game shenanigans, and running Bug coverage is good for killing off Psychics and Darks, but thats about it. Even their designs don't hold up to every other type. All bug types that lack a secondary type in the top 2 of the list, besides Ninjask and possibly Volcarona, really just end up as deadweight for me. And shut up about Scizor, Forretress is better.
Now onto the one Bug I really love, Ninjask, the Ninja Pokemon. It's a shame to see one of my favorite pokemon this far down the list, but it is a bright spot for two otherwise annoying types. Also, it's design is awesome. Screw off, Greninja.
