  • Why hello, I just read the rules for this forum but couldn't find a fitting answer, so please allow me to ask this here :)

About a year ago, I had a great and serious(!!!) idea for a fanfic. I wrote few chapters in my main language (German) but got bored after a while, so i thought about re-writing it in English (which is my third language), which would be more challenging and thus encouraging. I'd really like to try this out, since English is a simple yet beautiful language to write dialogues.

What I tried to ask waaaaaas…
would it be allowed to post a fic which contains:
    Violence
Realistic weapons and armory. People and Pokemon can not only die but also get murdered on purpose, which isn't always viewed as a bad thing.
    Politic violence
The story is centered about a stalinist dictatorship, including political-oriented murders and genocide. Otherwise it contains hate against (fictional) stalinist playgrounds, sympathy for Russia and China and frustration against the USA.
    Shipping
An original character will be shipped with an existent character from the Pokemon world.

    Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut it will not contain:
    · Racism of any kind. Nor bashing against actually existing countries or ethnicities.
    · Insults against actual political parties.
    · Excessive swearing or overusing of curse words
    · Highly erotic and pornographic content
    · Gore or any other kind of over-detailed violence

So I really wonder if I should try writing it in English and posting it here. This fic would be a great way to practice my writing skills and I could get a wider audience for my fiction, so I ask YOU, would this be allowed or not – if not, what would be the reason?

  • As a heads up, you can always ask about the rules of the section in the rules thread too. But here is also fine!

Anyways, for your questions: yes, it would be allowed. The only thing is that you'd have to rate your story appropriately and maybe give a warning about themes in author notes before the story starts. PG-13 or PG-15 may fit that although it's hard to gauge without seeing it; the rules thread ought to have some descriptions about each rating and what could fit under them however.

If you do write it out in English, good luck, and do post it! =)
