HeartGold & SoulSilver Rules OF DOOM
Read this and nobody gets hurt...much ;p
To start off, all of the Standard PokéCommunity Rules apply here - so check those first if you are unsure what they are. Some of the following are repetitions of those or extended versions just for extra emphasis.
The Rules
→ No spamming, flaming, etc.There will be many discussions going around on this board, some not as great as others. Many opinions will be shared as well on a handful of topics. So, please avoid any flaming or spamming as it isn't allowed anyway. It's best you respect what others have to say and if what they may suggest or comment on is misleading, then feel free to guide them correctly by doing so in a proper way.
→ Character Limit Bypass
There are times when you may create a thread or feel the need to include an image in your post. Please, if you do this, include something to say along with this or you will be bypassing the character limit which is against the rules here. Also, the character limit is four words, 25 characters long, anything under this is considered bypassing, including the occasional, fiiiiillllleeeerrrr. Basically, if your post is too short then you should be able to extend it some more - talk about say why you chose so-and-so a Pokemon for example - it'll also make your post more interesting to read as well as legal!
→ Questions anyone?
If you have any questions, it is best you use the HG/SS Help Thread. It is a sticky and will be found on the top of the page. It is best you post any questions you have regarding HeartGold and SoulSilver here, as making new threads will only push back on-going discussions on the board. If you want in-game team help or advice, we have a section for that.
It is suggested your visit the FAQ & Known Information Sticky before posting any questions. You're likely to find your answer there first.
→ ROMs
You should know that any discussion on ROMs is not allowed. Whether it be questions, discussion, or advertising, it simply doesn't belong here. It's best you go to the Emulation Section of the forums regarding any ROM discussion relating to HeartGold and SoulSilver remakes. Also, please do not list where you will be playing your ROM either, as it is not allowed.
→ Wi-Fi Battling, Trading, and Terminal
So, like Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver is also Wi-Fi compatible. Many of you may wish to ask for battles, trades, or connect through the Wi-Fi Plaza. We ask that you please use the Wi-Fi Center to do so as doing it here isn't the right place.
→ Sharing your traveling experiences.
If you're interested in posting your frequent happenings in the game or sharing your stories in HG/SS, then we do have a thread for that. The HeartGold & SoulSilver - Travel Journal will be the place you're looking for. So please, use this rather than making threads on your adventures through the game.
Note: Please keep in mind, this thread is for posting your adventure stories, not sharing any YouTube Videos about you playing your game. This is considered advertising, so if you must do so please do it within your signature. (Keep in mind, only YouTube video links will be allowed in your Signature, not the actual video clip itself). If you are doing a Let's Play, guide or review, check out the Let's Play, Guides and Reviews section!
→ In-game Team Help
In-game help threads are not allowed here. Please use the In-Game Team Help sub-forum in Pokémon Strategies and Movesets. Remember this sub-forum is for in-game team help and questions only. The main S&M board is only made for competitive teams. You may however, use the What's Your Team? thread to list your Pokémon in HeartGold and/or SoulSilver. And if you just want someone to choose a team for you, try the Challenges section!
Note: The Team Help section covers all generation of Pokémon from RBY to HG/SS and so forth.
→ Before making a new thread...
If you are wanting to start a new discussion of your own, then there are some certain things you should consider. First off, make sure your new topic belongs in this discussion. If it does, then it's best you search the board and the previous pages to see if your idea is already active in another thread. If not, then please feel free to start a new discussion.
Note: An inactive thread is considered to be one that has had no posts within 30 days since the last post was made. Threads revived past this limit will most likely be closed. Do not post in threads older than 30 days since the last post!
→ Reporting and You - Don't Mini-mod!
If you see something that is against the rules or a thread that is in the wrong place - simply just report it (via pressing the report button in the top-right part of the offending post) and leave it at that. If you mini-mod, expect public warnings, followed by infractions if you continue.
