  • I dk if My battle style is crap or I dont have the right combo of mons or just crap luck. I am soo confused right now. I would like to eventually go to D.C. For the worlds next year but the way this is going I'll be lucky to make top anything at regionals. Not sure what to do here.

  • Battle 1: That's just bad. You don't use double protect unless you are trying to stall something out, or if you're desperate. By the way, I saw that Taunt coming from miles away. Thundurus often runs Taunt. If you can correctly predict it, don't use a non-damaging move. Also, get rid of Seismitoed. It worked in VGC '11, it won't work today. That's 'cuz VGC '11 banned every Pokemon that wasn't gen 5. The Smogon movesets that worked then is INVALID now.

    Battle 2: Regigigas is banned. Let's skip that battle.

    Battle 3: Jez doesn't know VGC.

    Battle 4: Bad prediction in the beginning.

    Battle 5: Needs more Protect.

    Battle 6: Still needs more Protect.

    Just saying but last year, Worlds had a cutoff for participants. A participant must have something like 10 Championship Points in order to participate in Last Chance Qualifiers (the Grinder, they called it). I don't expect that to change this year, so that means you'll have to get at least one Regional/Nationals under the belt, and do well at it.

  • The game plan was to win regionals and nationals. God knows I dont think I could afford to go to Indy (wherever it is next year) or DC without winning them. I know its a very tall feat to do. I dont think I have seen a person win regionals then nationals and then Worlds, but I only have two years data so. My logic could be flawed.

    In VCGs when a Destiny Bond is applied the user loses correct its not a tie? Cuz I had that happened to me yesterday I was like wtf

  • Just some things I wanna point out;

    1. Never lead with 2 physical attackers. 1 or even 2 Intimidates and the match is pretty much thrown.

    2. Never double Fake Out. Flinch the bigger threat (like a Thundurus-I thats looming over you with its crutch Prankster Thunder Wave) and either set up or dispatch a foe with your other Pokemon.

    3. Switch into resisted hits. In one battle, you blocked an HP Flying with Protect, then allowed it to hit you the next turn which dealt major damage to your Hitmontop. That is just an example. This also nets you more Fake Outs. Neither Hitmontop or Weavile should be sitting in play for very long.

    4. Scout your opponents speed by watching Ability activations. For example, if Weaviles Pressure happens before Landorus-Ts Intimidate, its not scarfed and you own the momentum. You can also scout turn orders by watching Lefties/Sand damage etc. This is a crucial skill to learn in VGC.

    5. I can't see your EV spreads here, but if they're all 252/252 thats bad. You wanna make EV spreads specifically for what you want to do for each Pokemon.

    I couldn't really see anything else worth mentioning.

    Any suggestions on those Ev spreads?
