Hey guys! How's everyone doing. Just wanted to start a topic about fourth gen that would hopefully connect some of the players still playing back in time and some of today's players.
Just wondering what you guys know of things that come from the fourth gen that can only be obtained in the current gen by transferring. For example ...
Only by playing HGSS, can you catch a female Pokemon with a Love/Friend/Heavy/Fast/Lure/Moon/Level Ball and then transfer it to Generation 6 to breed on to off spring. That is the only way to have off spring in these ball types.
A couple more examples;
You have to teach a Scyther Defog in DPPt, trade him to HGSS to remove the [HM] tag on that Defog move to enable him to be transferred to BB2WW2 and then from there on to the sixth generation to breed him and use it as an egg move.
Another example in Gen 6 is getting the egg move Extreme Speed for Dratini. You need the original ES Dratini from the Dragon's Den in HGSS transferred up.
Keep in mind, not everyone likes to use other people as resources, so we discuss all this assuming you have access to all games and any hardware you need for transferring, but not the internet or other players.
Side Note: The goal of this thread is to one day be a resource for any players looking to maximize their transfer potential from fourth gen to sixth gen, so please help contribute if you know of anything; thanks! :)
