    Sinnoh is flooded with legend and lore. It is believed to be the first region Arceus created. Home to Dialga and Palkia, along with the Lake Trio. Arceus himself supposedly resides there. Yet, there is so much more to the region than what meets the eye...

    Sinnoh is a great place to study. It is littered with ancient ruins and monuments, along with many research facilities. It is home to one of the largest mountain ranges in the world. Not to mention, the underground mining system that runs throughout the whole region. There are four major lakes, and the Great Marsh. Needless to say, there is a lot to do and see in the Sinnoh Region.

    One of the most notable things in Sinnoh, is the Lily Cove Conference. It is where the top trainers in Sinnoh go to duke it out and determine the #1 trainer. Because of this, new trainers are always beginning their journeys, coming from all over the world to to Sinnoh. But first, they must challenge and earn badges from the 8 gym leaders. This is no easy feat, which is why it is seen as such a big task.

    You are a new trainer, just beginning your journey. Trying to figure out what you wish to do with your life. So, what better to do than challenge the Sinnoh League? By visiting Prof.Rowan in Sandgem Town, any young man or woman can receive a Pokedex and their Pokemon League License.

    You will travel the ancient region, meeting friends and foes alike. You will grow as a person, learning and growing with your Pokemon. What you will do and how it will turn out, is all up to you.



    If it isn't apparent, this will be a Sinnoh journey RP. It is mostly a sandbox RP, that I will partially control. You can do whatever the heck you want, as long as it's realistic. I will control the open locations, but you can choose what you want to do in those locations.

    Everybody begins in Sandgem Town to receive their do-dads from Prof.Rowan. The surrounding routes and Twinleaf Town will be open, along with Lake Valor. I will open up the later locations as I see fit.




    The Mechanics

    Moves

    Your Pokemon can have up to 6 moves. We will use the ORAS movesets. You may use egg moves and tutor moves, but TMs and HMs are not to be used. Honestly, how can a disk teach a Pokemon a move?

    Egg moves and tutor moves can both be learned naturally. No need to breed or anything of the sort.

    Capturing Pokemon

    In a capture post, your post needs to end with the Pokemon in a pokeball. I will determine whether or not you actually captured the Pokemon. If you don't catch it, you can attack it a few times and try again, or go find something else to do.

    You can also capture as many Pokemon as you want, but you may only carry 6 at a time. If you want to switch, you must visit a Pokemon Center.

    You can trade with your fellow Roleplayers, but not with NPCs, unless I say so. If I let you trade with NPCs, it would be completely unfair. You could take your Starly and trade for a Staraptor.

    Evolution

    There are no levels, or anything of the sort. There is no happiness, beauty, or trade evolution. However, there is stone evolution.

    If you wish to have your Pokemon evolve, notify the GM and await his decision.

    Gyms Battles

    All gyms will be normal battles, but you can decided which Pokemon the gym leader uses and how many. A list of Pokemon will be provided and you may choose which ones the leader uses.

    You can lose the battle and still earn a badge. Likewise, you may win the battle and not earn a badge. End your gym posts with the battle ending and the GM will decide whether or not a badge is earned.

    Team Galactic

    Now this is the fun part! I will not throw a direct plot related to them, but it is assumed that Team Galactic has the same goals as in the games. It is up to all the players if they wish to incorporate them in their own plots. It isn't a bad idea to ask in the OOC if anybody wants to join you.

    Legendary Pokemon

    So, that would be Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Arceus, Cresselia, Darkrai, Heatran, Shaymin, Mesprit, Uxie, Azelf, Regigigas, Manaphy, and Phione. A lot.

    It is assumed Team Galactic is attempting to take control of Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. If you wish to incorporate any other legendaries in the plot, pitch your ideas in the OOC.

    Personality: Broderick is a care-free, loving human being. He loves to lend a helping hand and assist anybody with small tasks. He does sometimes promise too many things, having to break some on accident. Likewise, he occasionally bites off more than he can chew with tasks, forcing him to admit he couldn't get the job done.

    He often will be seen playing with his Pokemon or trying to make a new friend with anybody. He tends to not sweat the small stuff and look more at the big picture. His lack of attention to detail sometimes causes problems for him and for others, making him feel like he has to make up for it somehow. He does this in a variety of ways from giving gifts, to simply taking them out to lunch.

    Bro is also a bit of a flirt. He will try to casually flirt and win girls over with his goofiness. Girls usually find him rather funny and he prides himself on it. He still hasn't had an "official" girl friend. He's been on dates and stuff but has never had a girl stay too long. He doesn't linger on that too much though.

    Bro is rather naive and doesn't realize when he is in a dangerous or risky situation. Even when he is though, he never backs down from a challenge. He considers himself rather strong himself, so he'll stand up against even the biggest bullies. Even with his obvious flaws, he is a good friend and he tries his hardest with everything. Including being a good friend.

    Battle Style: Broderick uses a head-on approach in battling. He likes to go full go from the beginning to end. He prefers to use strong pokemon that each have their own special skills differing from each other. Whenever he finds that his direct approach doesn't work, he will try to find another strategy. However, strategy-creating isn't exactly his forte.

    Broderick tends to hit so hard and fast that people don't expect it most of the time, but people with experience know how to defend against it. This strategy does turn into reckless sometimes.

    History: Broderick has lived in the high-tech Opelucid City his whole life. He grew up observing Iris and Drayden with their dragons, so he wants to be like them too. His biggest dream is to become one of the best dragon tamers in the world.

    His parents are both business workers, so Bro grew up with money his whole life. He also has an older sister and a younger brother. His older sister started going to school to be like his parents, but decided she wanted to be a trainer and began traveling around Unova.

    His parents own a Druddigon named Torres, who has strongly aided in Bro's love for dragon types. Torres is mostly used as a helper around the house but has been seen protecting the home from wild pokemon occasionally. He is very loving despite his appearance.

    Broderick grew up with a lot of attention and a bit of a tight leash. He didn't mind this, but he has always been excited for when he would be able to leave the house and be on his own. His parents accept this and are openly allowing him to leave the house. After learning about the abundance of trainers leaving for Sinnoh, he decided that was where he wanted to go. His parents were both excited and they agreed to fund the trip for him.

    Broderick decided that he wanted to win the Sinnoh Pokemon League, because he believes it will aid him greatly in his journey to become a dragon tamer. He knows how difficult this task will be and that he will have to work hard to achieve it. His parents are afraid that he will struggle due to the fact that he's never had anything bad ever happen to him. He's never experienced loss or any kind of trouble in his life before.

    Name: Grayson White

    Age: 17

    Gender: Male

    Hometown: Fortree City, Hoenn

    Height/Weight: 5'7" / 140 lbs

    Personality: Grayson is a very laidback person. He's not very confrontational or excitable. He takes a slow pace to life, sometimes to the agitation of people around him. Grayson can be described as introverted. He spends much more time with his Pokémon than with people. In fact, it's not often that Grayson will try to catch a new Pokémon. Despite all this, Grayson is very friendly when people approach him. He's not afraid of people trying to hurt him because of how little regard he has for the status quo. He takes things a day at a time and tries to enjoy himself as much as possible.

    Battle Style: In the occasional times Grayson does battle, he takes a slow and steady approach. He likes to plan out his attacks carefully. This usually leaves his Pokémon open to attacks and trying to evade and defend while Grayson is thinking. For this reason, Grayson likes using Pokemon that can take a lot of punishment and deal out large amounts in return. Grayson has fairly good situational awareness, but this can sometimes leave him distracted or thinking about too many things at once. He also doesn't have a very good reaction time, so fast-paced opponents give him trouble. Growing up in Fortree City, Grayson learned to use the environment to his advantage, as well as notice when the environment gives him a disadvantage.

    History: Grayson's lineage can be traced back to the earliest settlers of Fortree City. His family has a strong sense of traditional living. Grayson spent most of his childhood gathering food and exploring the dense, rainy forest routes surrounding his hometown. Although Grayson's parents were strict about passing down their traditions, they were very kind and nurturing. However, spending all of this time following this traditional lifestyle left little time for Grayson to make friends. Although Grayson is curious of what it's like to be connected to so many people, he doesn't miss what he never had.

    Because Grayson's parents were well-known in their community, Grayson had the opportunity to spend more time with Winona than most people do. He admired her go-with-the-flow personality and learned one or two things about battling from her, although this doesn't mean he's a cut above any other Trainer.

    On one of Grayson's excursions, he noticed an Aron huddling under a large leaf, shielding itself from a rainstorm. The Aron was clearly distressed from the look on its face. Removing a cloth from his bag, Grayson wrapped the Aron and took it home with him. Grayson's father was shocked by Grayson's insistence of keeping the Aron; he expected Grayson to choose a Treecko like he did or a Flying-type. Nevertheless, Grayson was allowed to keep the Aron, which Grayson named Ferrum.

    After the weather crisis that was agitated by the actions of Team Aqua and Team Magma, Grayson's parents felt like the tradition and culture of Hoenn had been corrupted too heavily. They decided to send him to Sinnoh, the birthplace of the Pokémon world, to expand his awareness of the world and his appreciation for the history of the Pokémon universe.

    The Canceler's Grayson is accepted!

    As of now, I think abilities are going to be nonexistent, but inferred sometimes. So for Aron, you can assume it has sturdy. Or for Rotom and the Gastly line it can be assumed that they levitate.

    I think this may be subject to change in the future. I also should let you know I can't update the thread until tomorrow, since I'm on my tablet.

    • Nice. And I was hoping for Rock Head on Aron, because Head Smash. If I may suggest something, you could do what Mystery Dungeon does and have all Abilities active, but just not acknowledge Abilities as an identifiable trait, it's just a characteristic of the Pokémon.

    Name: Zero

    Age: 16

    Gender: Male

    Height/Weight: 5'6" / 123 lbs

    Personality: Zero is a very selfish, very arrogant, and EXTREMELY mischievous. However he is a good trainer, with a loving heart for his Pokémon.
    He has also been known to be a good friend to the few humans who are able to look past his rather obnoxious teenage rebel attitude.
    He loves to cook, and worked in a restraunt when he was young.
    Zero also happens to be quite the lady charmer, well... untill he opens his meowth.

    Hometown: Striaton City, Unova

    Battle Style: Zero likes to strike fast and hit hard, his philosophy being that if you can take the opponent down before it can hit you then you don't need any form of defense. This is probably stemmed from the fact that he deeply cares for his Pokémon, so a strategy where they take as little damage as possible is his forte. He doesn't like status conditions, finds them extremely annoying in fact, and will go out of his way to avoid using them.

    History: Zero was born to a woman named Elizabeth. Elizabeth did all her partying before Zero was born, so when he did show up, the most exciting thing she did was make breakfast for dinner once in a while. In school, Zero was made fun of for his name, which he shortly after abandoned and began calling himself Zero. He did quite well in school however, pleasing the teachers by having an exceptionaly high intelligence. The other children, enjoyed his banter and comedic genius when in groups, however few of them actually stuck with him throughout the years. As he grew older, he grew into a particular body type that young women adored, and unrelatedly, at the same time began to use his high intelligence to scheme people, one such occasion he sold a magikarp to a young boy for five hundred dollars. However when he graduated from the trainers school, he returned to his boring life at home.
    For two years he worked part time at a restaurant in the city, where he learned how amazing food could be. He grew to be close friends with the businesses proprietors sons, who taught him all they knew about food. However on his sixteenth birthday Zero received a very peculier gift, albeit particularly ordinary for the day and age in which he lived. He recieved his first Pokémon. A Treeko that had hatched from an egg at the nearby daycare center. Once Zero had his partner he knew his life finally had a purpose. He would travel the world and seek out the greatest Pokémon trainers in the world, and one day take his place amongst them.

    Aria is a petite girl, standing at only 5'4. She has pale skin and looks easily breakable. Her bright blue eyes are accented by the dark shadows under them from many sleepless nights. Her curly black hair falls to her shoulders neatly. She has a star shaped birthmark underneath her right eye. (Not able to be put on the picture xD)

    Aria normally wears a black and white dress with a white sweater (again not pictured) and black ankle boots. She wears a locket with a picture of her and her mother when she was younger and almost never takes it off. Her wrists are covered with multiple bracelets that her aunt has given her.

    Personality: Aria is a very shy girl and tries to avoid making contact with other people as much as she can. The reason for this is because of her abilities. She's scared of hurting others and tries to distance herself from others. Unfortunately, people seem to be attracted to her, which makes it harder for her to avoid them. She often stresses herself out overthinking things, which leads to things around her being broken due to her frustration. She considers herself a monster that can't be controlled and refuses to believe otherwise.

    She finds it hard to trust people, and it took her a very long time to even trust her aunt and uncle. Once someone breaks through her shell, however, she's a very sweet girl. She hates seeing people get hurt and will do whatever she can to help people who are hurt, or even prevent them from getting hurt. She can be stubborn when she wants to, and hates when people try to change her opinion on things. She loves Pokemon and thinks that they're the only ones who understand her.

    Battle Style: Aria doesn't like to battle, but when she does, she goes for an evasive strategy. She sits back and watches the opponent, learning their battle style, before ordering her own Pokemon to attack.

    History: Aria was born in Lavender Town to her mother Marissa, who was a powerful psychic. Her father was also a psychic and had left long before she was born, never to be heard from again. After Aria was born, Marissa got sick and was unable to take care of her. Aria was mostly raised by the people in the town, and almost never spent time with her mother, since everyone was scared that she'd catch what her mother had. She often cried for her mother, and often used her abilities and broke things when she did. This went on for five years and her life was pretty uneventful, until things changed for the worse.

    Her mother was still sick, and grew sicker every day. No medicines seemed to help at all, and only made things worse. She asked for only one thing after she died, which was for Aria to be sent to her sister in Sinnoh, since she would be the only one able to teach Aria about her abilities. The townspeople reluctantly agreed, and once Marissa died, sent Aria off to live with her aunt. The girl didn't want to leave, and clung onto whoever she could. She threw a huge tantrum and had to be carried onto the plane before she lost control.

    When Aria got to Sinnoh, she locked herself in her new room. She only left her room to eat and spent most of her time locked in, until one day her door was knocked off of its hinges. She looked up to see her aunt standing in the doorway, a huge grin on her face. She told Aria that she understood what she was going through and was going to train her to control her abilities. Aria reluctantly agreed to the training, but didn't trust her aunt any more.

    She spent years training with her aunt, and was homeschooled by her uncle until she was ready to go to regular school. She envied her older cousin Cameron, who was allowed to go to school, and her younger cousin Josephine, who could also go to school. Eventually she gave up, saying that she was a monster that couldn't be tamed. She tried to train herself, but mostly got frustrated and lost control. Her abilities only grew stronger, and she started to focus more on staying away from people. Any time someone brought someone home, she ran up to her room and didn't leave until the next day. Her aunt grew sick of this and told her to grow up, and that she was splitting the family apart. Aria grew furious and said that maybe she should leave and ran out of the house crying. Cameron found her after a few days and begged for her to come back. She refused to come back and was surprised when Cameron handed her a backpack full of supplies.

    "Go out and prove yourself," he told her. "Make yourself stronger. Don't give up." Aria took the backpack and decided to follow his advice.

    This is my FIRST post, and i joined this website about half an hour ago, I have plenty experience with RP'ing on other sites, just not this one, and I happen to know Oddball in real life and he is the one who dragged me into this, so he is letting me sort of hang with him plot wise, if that is fine with you.

    Name: Artis
    Age: 17
    Gender: Female
    Height/Weight: 5'7"/ 110
    Personality: Artie is often said to be Bipolar, or a night-owl. She is often depressed and somewhat down during the day and enjoys sleeping in, but her favorite times are sunset, and after which she lives up to her reputation of being hyper and easily distracted. When she is focused however on a task at hand, let there be mercy on the soul who tried to stop her from doing what she believes to be right. She often has high morals, and finds herself to be the one outside of situations and looking in, judging judgementally and trying to help the victim find a solution. This said, her only friend is Zero, them having grown up in the same town, and her high tolerance for shenanigans, and willingness to join in them when the consequences were light. Also, she can be extremely impatient and is often done with her work or task first. When it comes to pokemon, she sees them as adopted children and like the few friends that put up with her, she considers herself the mother- bear and protecter of them.

    Hometown: Striaton, Unova

    Battle Style: Like to use the most efficient strategies taking weaknesses into account, and ignoring status affects and stat changing boosters. She is incredibly endearing to her pokemon, and does her best to put them in advantageous situations.

    History: Most of her time was spent charading around at night in her hometown and getting to know the landscape from one end to the other from sheer boredom, and then working her day job. Her parents were loving and accommodating, though that is really only what they were. They hardly ever went to new places, and the family schedule stayed the way it always had been, never really changing. When Artie turned 17 she decided to head to Sinnoh and find some action, make a few new friends, and try her crack at the Pokemon League. With this plan, she bought a plane ticket with her friend Zero and tagged along on his journey to Sinnoh.

    Appearance: Because of her mood swings being night and day, there are times that her eyes are a dark and thoughtful, some say sad, forest color. And then there are times when they are closer to a beautiful more joyous teal color. Her hair is a short pixy cut that she often dyes new and exciting colors, though it is currently a beautiful light blue, and her bangs hang just past her eyes and are combed over to the left. She has a somewhat muscular jaw, and when she was younger was often identified as boy because of her deeper tone of voice and undeveloped body, so she is a bit edgey with those pronouns. She is thin and walks with a straight back, and her legs make up for most of her height. She most often wears a simple black tanktop that is formfitting with loose camouflage cargo pants and black hiking boots. When it is cold she had a baggy sweatshirt that is probably older than her, has a silver wolf picture on the front, and a ridiculously large hood.

    Can I reserve a spot. I'm pretty swamped for ideas at the moment having already created two characters for existing RPs. (I dont just wanna make another character like my one in Hoenn make a wish) If possible can I reserve either Pikachu, Chespin or Charmander as a starter, :( since Treecko's already gone. Btw, how'd you get the animated Gen 6 GIFs, I've got some saved but I've no idea how to use them in posts.

    Personality: Dan, growing up in Celestial Town, is in love with history. He like studying the ruins and buildings in Sinnoh and loves to read about them. He is studying to be a historian, and is traveling Sinnoh to do research for a paper he's writing. He loves pokemon battling too, so he also uses the journey as an excuse to do some pokemon battles. Dan is a nice guy, and tries to be friendly to everyone. He is helpful and compassionate, although maybe a bit lacking in determination when it isn't history related.

    Battle Style: Dan battle technique depends on the pokemon he's using. He likes to see what the pokemons individual strengths are and use those to target the weak spots of his opponent. He switches a lot, to make the strengths and weakness of his pokemon match his opponents. Dan doesn't prefer certain types of pokemon and battle styles, and he'll just use pokemon he likes or that he has bonded with.

    History: Dan got his basic education through his parents. Growing up in the small town, he often played near the ruins, and got fascinated by them. When he was 16, he started studying history at the Celestic Town Historical Research center. He currently has an internship at the Research Center, and hopes to graduate and get a real job at the research center. He is writing a research paper on how civilization in Sinnoh developed. The town was very calm, and Dan was one of the only kids of his age that grew up in the town, which left him with a lot of time to study, and a lot of his interaction had been with adults and elders. Pokemon battling was something Dan only saw on TV. It immediately caught his interest though, and he hoped to have a pokemon himself one day. He dreamed of becoming the Celestic Town gym leader, even though he knew in the back of his mind that he probably would never achieve his dream. He got his first pokemon when he was 18. The Turtwig came from an egg that mysteriously appeared after his parents let their Torterra play with the neighbors Ditto. Dan used this Turtwig mainly for company, although in he taught it a couple of combat moves. Via the Research Center, Dan got in touch with professor Rowan, who was willing to help his paper by lending him some books and some dodads for a real pokemon adventure!

    Personality: Mark is a simple trainer, he travels around the world for his two goals, catching and training Pokemon. He is very friendly to other Pokemon, even wild or caught, he is also friendly to other trainers too. He doesn't talk that much to others, and mostly stays out of battle. He tends to be shy when he meets new people, but whenever he meets new Pokemons, he tries to approach it with no harm. He is the type of guy who explores most areas, where he tends to find hidden places. He doesn't have too much interest in ladies, and he mostly just blushes or some other thing.

    Battle Style: Mark is a very good tactician and leader, he first tries to analyze his opponent's strategies, attacks and then makes a plan. He often takes the risk of having a Pokemon faint, which he apologizes later. When he is at a disadvantage, he tries to turn it around, he is very skilled at planning and constructing tactics and using moves very wisely. He often goes in a defensive state at first, but then he goes into an aggressive attack state when he finishes analyzing his foe..

    History: Mark has good parents when he was young, his parents teaches him about Pokemon, he had fun that time... Until. When Mark and his parents went into Viridian City, Mark went into the Viridian Forest without his parent's knowledge, there a wild Beedrill attacked him. When Mark was cornered, a mysterious man with a red cap appeared, the man sent the Beedrill away and saved Mark, there he gave Mark a Pokemon Egg, which Mark intended to protect and raise. When the man and Mark came back to Viridian City, Mark couldn't find his parents and returned back to Pallet Town. Mark went into his house only to find a letter... ''Dear Mark, we are sorry if we left you alone, it is only for the greater good. We called a man named Blue to get you... We hope you will be safe, our child.'' Mark read. Mark fell into the ground, where he cried, and cried.

    Years later, Blue trained Mark to be a Pokemon Trainer, he teached him good tricks and gave him his good ability to lead his Pokemon. At the same time, the egg that the man gave hatched into an Squirtle. When Mark finally had the decision to travel, Blue made him go to the Sinnoh region, giving him the ticket and Blue's Pokedex as well. And that is where his journey begins...

For the battle style, try to perhaps add an example of what pokemon he may use or how one of his battles may turn out. But, Treecko is reserved for you.
