I didn't think either of these poems were very good. Cutting is such a popular topic for poetry nowadays that it feels like all young people write a poem about it. If you're writing a poem about it, it needs to be more metaphorical and have your own spin on it. If you continued the image of "anemone" for the entire second poem, it would be a better poem.
For instance, dealing drugs is a popular topic for rap songs. One rapper might just write a song that amounts to "I deal drugs a lot," which doesn't really say anything. Another rapper could write a song with the same topic but have it be from his perspective growing up in a culture where that is both glorified and hated, and his song would be better.
