Pokemon Showdown has been hit by a security breach.

It has since been taken down. Trying to log onto it as of right now yields a CloudFlare page.

This is not a drill, so as soon as the site comes back up ensure you change your password. Additionally, changing your passwords on other sites if they are the same as your Showdown password might be a good idea, since this guy doesn't look like he's kidding around.

The same guy who hacked NASA just hacked Showdown because he's salty over a game he lost.

Showdown is back up, but there is a large pink banner atop the Smogon forums that says:

PS has been compromised. Until this message is removed, you SHOULD NOT try to log in to PS and you SHOULD change any passwords that are the same as, or similar to, your PS password. More information will come when the situation has settled.

I would avoid Showdown for the time being given this announcement.

Ok, that script kiddie decided to hack PS just for the hell of it, and we've seen the consequences. That guy is an absolute ******.

This is terrible. I don't use Showdown anymore but anyways, hacking attacks suck big time.

I hope this is the last of them. I don't visit PS quite often nowadays, but this act of hacking is unacceptable...

Pokemon Showdown is now safe to use. I would still ensure you change your password immediately, though.
