Are there any pokes of this gen worth it?

  • In a competitive nature, are any of these pokes really worth adding to a team? I know it seems that none of the dragons I would use would be worth it unless I was using Trick Room. The only Fire that seems usable is Pyroar which IMO is a Specialized version of Arcanine.

With the lack of any real new pokes does this change anything for you?

There are plenty of new Pokemon worth using, Pyroar is quite frankly lackluster. Aegislash, Talonflame, Sylveon, Florges, Goodra and Greninja are some of the more notable ones. Noivern is also pretty cool too, there's plenty of new options.

I personally think that most of the Kalos Pokemon are going to be RU-OU since they are all pretty decent and viable at some way, some megas are really nice too

Delphox is worth looking at if you are taking Pyroar into consideration. The most notable stat difference between them is that Delphox has a few more points of special attack and special defense whilst Pyroar has more speed. You're gonna want to have something deliberately better though :/ Though it's worth noting that Delphox can run a decent CM set or even a Specs set.

I think the MEVOs are really worth using granted you know how to utilize them well. Honestly, there are still a lot of stuff to discover.

Have you even looked at the stats?
Aegislash and Greninja will be at least OU.
There are a few Pokemon that seem mediocre compared to older Pokemon of a similar nature, but many Pokemon are going to be OU and UU.
Pyroar isn't as good as Delphox. If you need a fire Pokemon, go Delphox or Talonflame. The only downside to Talonflame is it's Stealth Rock weakness.

  • Hawlucha is a really good pokemon. It's combination of acrobatics and unburden really make it shine.

The only problem with Hawlucha is that Flying Gem isn't available to make use of Unburden + Acrobatics. It could use other consumable items like Berries and Focus Sash sure, but Flying Gem is its best bet, IMO.

Hawlucha can make use of the Limber ability with Acrobatics however. That at least doesn't eliminate its wonderful speed. Actually that's a really useful ability because an immunity to paralysis would greatly aid his sweeping capabilities.

True, but Hawlucha's movepool is shallow (though Fighting/Flying is admittedly decent coverage) and it doesn't have anything that can efficiently deal with Aegislash outside of the situational Fling + Dread Plate.
