  • But I thought I'd give it a go, anyway. :D

I've never actually been fond of BP teams, but I figured I'd try one out for a change. And in Ubers, too. :)

    Team Building Process

The best Baton Passer is Ubers is undoubtedly Mew. So I started from there.

Now that Mew was there, I needed something else to boost stats to make a better chain. Scizor was the perfect choice, for it can pass SD and Iron Defense, while Mew passes Amnesia, Rock Polish, and Nasty Plot.

What if a threatening Pokemon obliterates Mew/Scizor before it can set up? This was the whole idea behind Uxie. With its incredible bulk, it can easily set up dual screens and can severely cripple the opponent with Memento. If I choose to use this in Gen V, he can also use Magic Coat to send Taunts back to those nasty Deoxys-S leads, among others. I still have in Gen IV just in case. Just in case...

Deoxys-S in Gen IV will just mess around with Uxie, so I needed something that could check it. Darkrai seems like a good choice, but I don't feel too comfortable about using it.

Finally, I can choose some recipients. Something in my mind screamed Palkia, so I went with my instinct here. Palkia makes for a great mixed sweeper anyway. :D

Finally, I wanted a back-up recipient, should something go wrong. Kyogre is the king of ubers, and he would supply rain that Palkia could take advantage of later.

The Beginning of the End (Dual Screener)

Baton Pass makes my head hurt.

    Uxie @ Light Clay
    Levitate
    252 HP/128 Def/56 Sp. Def/72 Spe
    Calm
    - Reflect
    - Light Screen
    - Magic Coat
    - Memento

A bit of a surprise for Ubers. The screens are obvious and don't need explaining. Magic Coat reflects Taunt in Gen V, and SR/Spikes in Gen IV and V. Memento cripples the opponent even more by rendering them almost harmless with Screens up.

The Unpredictable Kitty (Baton Passer #1)

Baton Pass makes my head hurt.

    Mew @ Lum Berry
    Synchronize
    252 HP/128 Def/128 Sp. Def
    Calm
    - Rock Polish
    - Nasty Plot
    - Amnesia
    - Baton Pass

This here is the adorable little kitten who will begin the downfall of the opponent's team. Simply pass these three boosts with the Screens and the Memento help from Uxie, and then Baton Pass to Scizor.

The Steel Terror (Baton Passer #2)

Baton Pass makes my head hurt.

    Scizor @ Occa Berry
    Technician
    252 HP/252 Spe/4 Def
    Jolly
    - Baton Pass
    - Iron Defense
    - Swords Dance
    - Bullet Punch

Scizor can passes the two other boosts that Mew can't because of it having only 4 moveslots: SD and Iron Defense. Once the chain is completed, the fun will begin.

The Pokemon with no true counters (Recipient)

Baton Pass makes my head hurt.

    Palkia @ Leftovers
    Pressure
    4 HP/252 Sp. Atk/252 Spe
    Hasty
    - Surf
    - Spacial Rend
    - Thunder
    - Aqua Tail

With the BP boosts, Palkia becomes nearly invincible. The moves are for coverage, while Aqua Tail gets rid of Blissey. Simple enough.

    The Fail Whale (Recipient #2)

Baton Pass makes my head hurt.

    Kyogre @ Leftovers
    Drizzle
    4 HP/252 Sp. Atk/252 Spe
    Timid
    - Aqua Ring
    - Water Spout
    - Thunder
    - Ice Beam

My back-up recipient should something go wrong. Aqua Ring + Leftovers = 1/8 HP restored each turn, which means it'll be even harder to take down Kyogre. Water Spout is just plain scary with the NP boosts, while the other two moves provide the classic BoltBeam combo.

    The Answer to Deoxys-S

Baton Pass makes my head hurt.

    Darkrai @ Life Orb
    Bad Dreams
    4 HP/252 Sp. Atk/252 Spe
    Timid
    - Dark Void
    - Dark Pulse
    - Ice Beam
    - Nasty Plot

I'm looking for replacements for this guy, so no explanation given here. :/

  • For Mew, I'd drop Amnesia for Taunt so that other Pokemon won't set up on it. And for Scizor: Agility >>> Iron Defense. I don't see a reason to BP defensive boosts at all.
