  • The PokéCommunity on YouTube - User-Submitted Content
Hello members and content creators of all kinds!

Have you been interested in being part of the PokéCommunity YouTube channel? Maybe you've just got a neat talent or fun, creative idea to share. Starting immediately, you will have the opportunity to share yourself with the community. We will now be accepting user-submitted content for the PokéCommunity YouTube channel and we want YOU to be involved! We are looking to grow the community's channel through community content, expanding our range of entertainment with multifaceted interests from around the entire community.

Featuring your creativity and interests will create a dynamic community-oriented channel that highlights the unique and amazing talents from around the forums.

    We are PokéCommunity after all!
    What you'll need to do:

First you'll want to come up with the type of content you'd like to make! Whether that be an art tutorial, a gaming video, a ROM video, news story, interview, podcast-style video, or anything else, you'll want to clearly tell us the type of content you'll be submitting. We're open to anything and if you prefer to pitch an idea before crafting an entire video, we will accept pitches - but an approved pitch does not mean an approved video! We will still need to review final video submissions.

Next, you'll want a video! We can't do much without one. In the cases of audio-only content where you have no need for video, simply submit audio and we may be able to provide an overlay. Your video/audio must be publish-ready - meaning there should be little, if any, editing done by the YouTube team. Do not add custom intros/outros - if your content is approved, we will add in PC's intro/outro. Please try to submit your files in an editor-friendly format. This means avoid sending exported videos if possible to avoid degradation of quality. If your video is too low in quality, it may not be approved. If your video is inappropriate (too violent, language, content), it may also be denied.

Third, you'll want to upload it to Dropbox or another site where it can be downloaded and viewed by the YouTube team for review and approval - the team will be reviewing all content to ensure it is appropriate and in good quality.

In all, we'll need the following:

    Content type:
    Video/audio link & download:

    Simple enough, right?

Once you're ready, submit your content to Klippy via PM. If your video is approved, the YouTube team will add the channel's intro and outro and you will be given a date of when your upload will be published! Your content will even be featured in This Week on YouTube updates.

If your video happens to be denied, we will provide you with an explanation as to why and whether it may be submitted with revisions. Submitting a video for the channel is for the benefit of PC and not personal gain. Please be aware of that before submitting!

We're looking to work with as many creative minds on the forums as possible, so don't feel shy! This will be a permanent fixture on the YouTube channel and a thread detailing this same information will be posted to the forums after the notice has been up for some time.

We look forward to receiving your content and seeing it on the channel! Thank you!

  • Would promotional videos be denied most likely? (AKA A Pokemon MMO?)

If it's content made for something on the forum or creative talent by a member of the forum, then no. But if it's just meant to promote a game that has no ties to our community, yes.
