Hi, This is my first time posting on this Community, I've been trying to get a hold of Gym Leaders, Elite 4 and Champions from Gen 2-6 to use in my game. I've found Overworld Sprites that, while a little too big, I can use but the only pictures I could find with a transparent background was the stuff from Bulbapedia which are 80x80. I tried to use Gimp to enlarge the image to 128x128 but it came out blurry and the transparency didn't carry over. I was wondering if there are any images out there of the Gen 2-6 Gym Leaders, Elite 4 and Champions that are 128x128 and already have a transparent background?

You won't be able to get sprites at 128x128 like that unless someone has remade them by hand. But I have some tips for what you can do in gimp.

First, go to Serebii: https://www.serebii.net/platinum/gyms.shtml
The images there are transparent, but you will have to save it as png instead of just copy and pasting.

After you open it in gimp: to resize pixel art without it getting blurry, go to "image" then "scale image". In that menu, use the drop-down menu to switch interpolation to "none." This will change the size of the image without blurring the edges, which is ideal for pixel art. But you shouldn't just scale it to 128x128 and this is why: https://imgur.com/a/FA1PEXx

If you look closely, you'll see that the pixels are weird looking and unevenly shaped. Pixel art needs to be scaled in multiple of 2 so that the square pixels keep their shape. So to make an 80x80 image bigger, the next step is 160x160.

And 160x160 images should work in your game. Here's an example of it in essentials: https://imgur.com/a/Xhu2CIq

So there you go! With the right settings you can resize any gen 2-6 sprite to work in essentials.
