I may have missed something, but unless I accidently selected lock difficulty when creating game, is there a way to change the various challenge settings after starting the game?

You can't. Most options would break or soft-break your savegame (Like changing between finite and infinite TMs, or activating nuzlocke mid-game).

Hey again.

I'm wondering if there's anything up with clefairy. Been looking for a while now in the south west part of the safari zone but I haven't had any success. Btw, in the safari zone you can't "quick run" from an encounter.

Still enjoying this to bits, I'm over 50 hours in on this save!

Hi, I'm pretty new to playing romhacks, and I have some questions if it's okay:

I tried playing this romhack on a DS using GBArunner2, but it doesn't seem to work. The game just won't boot. Is this romhack not compatible with the original hardware, or are there some extra steps I have to do?

GBArunner2 does count as emulation, so that is for sure the problem. "Original hardware" refers to GBA or NDS in GBA Mode (both using GBA flashcards, not NDS flashcards).

Hey, I had this issue before on my N3ds, so I downloaded mGBA for it and it's been working quite well. It feels like it takes more battery and sometimes the gameplay stutters so it lags and the music plays slower, but only in certain sections and not for long. I tried making a .cia file before but I was just faced with an eternal "white screen" and I think I read somewhere on the internet (could even have been Resetes) that it means that the "emulator" isn't good enough. I actually just installed another romhack called "polished crystal" today and that I could install internally through a .cia file, but when I ran it the first time it said that my emulator was not good enough, that bugs would appear and that I should run it on mGBA or another equally update emulator instead, but it let me start a new game at least.

To Resetes: Today was also going to update from 1.3.5.3 to 1.4.b but now it seems I can't continue on my save from 1.3.5.3 since when I launch with the old save files (both the .sav and .ss0) the game freezes on launch. It seems to work fine if I start fresh but I'm not really keen on that. Is this intended or am I messing something up on the way? Tried patching the same ROM with both JS and FLIPS, same outcome both times.

Don't know if it was already suggested before, but it would be a great QoL to be able to do fishing with only 1 bite and then 100% hook chance. To be honest the most irritating activity on any Pokemon game is fishing, and in old games like Emerald is just boring and plain a waste of time to miss a single "tap" from fishing and having to start over again
Not to mention that sometime it just plain fail from the start and need to wait 5/6 more seconds. A lot of other ROM hacks already have similar improvements

I haven't touched anything related to the savegame since 1.3.0, so it has to work and it works in all my systems so there's something you're doing wrong. Make sure the savegame has exactly the same name, and try to make it work on the computer first.

It already exists. Easier fishing, in the options menu.

To update the game, I usually delete all the relevants but the .sav file and rename it to the same of patched .gba file (on a laptop or an Android emulator). Of course, run a in-game save before update is necessary.

What do you mean by TM Changelog? TMs are the same as Emerald, same with HMs. If you mean the TM/HM learnset of every Pokémon you can use the Pokédex.

You are absolutely right! I forgot to change the documentation. You can still get Dragonair and breed it on Victory Road, thankfully. I might fix it for the next update if I discover more bugs (there's only this one for now).

I need more information because I cannot replicate this. Are you using Infinite TMs or Finite TMs? Did you have TM13 in your bag? Are you using the lastest version?

I decided to try this hack, and I'm loving it so far. I have a few suggestions I want you to read, I fully understand if you don't want to implement these, they're just thoughts.


1. Add in the Lucario line and the accompanying Aura Sphere move. It may not have been in base Emerald, but I think it's presence in Gen 3 media outside the main series games should give it a spot, but that's probably just me.
2. Make the fan made type changes and other buffs optional. Personally, made up types aren't my favorite thing. Sometimes they fit, but other times (Grass/Fire Sunflora), they just feel off.

Neither of these affect gameplay at all for me, I love this hack regardless. I'm just sharing my thoughts.

I don't have tm13 in my bag, I go to the casino and try to purchase it (I have enough coins) and it tells me I already own it. I'm on 1.4 which I downloaded from here. I was on 1.3.5.3 before it cause that's all you had on the GitHub.
