    Bands:

    1) HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR - The single best Japanese rock band out there, maybe not the most successful, but they'll always be my favorites.
    2) Abingdon Boys School - A relatively new band, it's got TM Revolution in it, though he at times seems to have trouble finding a good rock voice to use.
    3) 175r - Think they'd be classified as a Ska band, they were indie up until a few months ago, the lead singer has got a great voice and their songs have some pretty good beats.
    4) nobodyknows+ - They're just a very awesome r&b/rap band, probably one of the better bands to come out of Japan in that genre.

    Singers:
    1) Hitomi Takahashi - Easily one of the best young singers in Japan, all of her songs are catchy and fun to listen to.
    2) Ayaka - She mostly sings ballads, but outside of that she'll do the occasional r&b stuff.
    3) Koda Kumi - Not really sure what type of singer she is since she does all sorts of stuff. XD Not really sure why I like her so much, she just has a really good voice.

  • Seems the other thread I posted in about this has died. o.o Well, I'll post this again, with a few changes.

HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR is my all-time favorite. "PRIDE" made me fall in love with them and the female lead singer, Maki. XD (look at my sig for "Dreams")

Other Japanese artists that I like are

Tainaka Sachi (her songs for Fate/stay night were beautifully sung...and she's pretty >.>)
Jyukai (same as above for them, and Busou Renkin as well)
Hirano Aya (though I'm not sure you can count her..."God knows..." was awesome)
angela (does a lot of mecha anime)
Younha (Korean, but I only listen to her Japanese songs)
YUI (beautiful singing with a wide range of emotion)
Tamaki Nami (guilty pleasure really, but I just love "Reason")
Mizuki Nana (I just got into her. "Justice to Believe" loops constantly, and her range as a seiyuu and a vocalist is awesome.)
Do As Infinity (An old favorite for most.)
FictionJunction YUUKA (Yay for Gundam SEED and .hack)
    See-Saw (ditto)
savage genius ("Forever..." gets stuck in my mind)
and several others I can't remember right now.

All of them have done songs for anime that I like, but I do listen to and love their other songs afterwards.

Most are mine are based off Anime Theme Songs.

    Bands:
SharonQ (I have no idea what they are, they did the first 2 Orphen opening songs)

Taiyou to Ciscomoon (I think that's their name, they did the last opening to Orphen: Revenge

Nightmear (Death Note for the Win)

    Singers:
    Yumi Matsuzawa (Nadesico ftw!)

Houko Kuwashima (She's also a seiyiuu but she song Nadesico as well)

That's about it, their probably my favourits.
