I think they should have that fixed by now, I haven't heard anything but they should have fixed it already, either that or they are currently working to fix it. I downloaded that update on my 360 too, except mine didn't die, I guess it's just my luck. It doesn't make a difference though because my 360 is still a $400 paperweight thanks to the Wii and Twilight Princess. Gears of War was good but very short and it was also pretty repetitive, but I admit that it was fun while it lasted but better than TP it is not. Anyways, to make my last few sentences Nintendo related I will just say that because of the Wii I have forgotten about my 360 and Gears of War. Also, to those of you have played a 360 you must also know that the 360's controller is very comfortable, well, the Wiimote and nunchuk feel even better.
I hope they fix it before I get my Wii. I'm not going to be very happy if I download it and get all messed up.
I wonder if it'll be the same case with me (that is if we get the 360 fixed anytime soon). I mean GRAW is one of my fav games, so I can't just toss it aside. XD
I hate eBayers, they ruin it for people who actually want to go home and play with their consoles.
They do. I mean I said "If I had the money I'd buy a PS3 and sell it on eBay" but after running into these probs with the Wii I sort of second thought that.
Anyway, this is something I got off the GS Forums. I don't know where this dude got this info. So take it all with a grain of salt. But if it is true then, well yea....
"From Amazon.com by J.Deats:"This isn't a review (sorry for the rating, no I don't own the system). I'm instead using this space to help would-be Wii shoppers who don't have all the information obtain a system for the Holidays. If your up on all the latest game news from websites, you probably know all of this.
Here are some quick facts: Nintendo has shipped about one million Wii units to the US for this holiday season. Of that lot, about 600,000 units have already been distributed to retailers for the product launch date on the November 19th. A few retailers, namely some BEST BUY and TOYS R US stores held back roughly one half of their shipment. A local BEST BUY I know got in 62 units, 36 were solid on November 19, 26 were held in back and sold on November 24 "black friday".
The second shipment from warehouses for Gamestop and other retailers is coming the last week of November and, based on the number of units available, there *may* be one more shipment after that (there are only about 400,000 Wii units left in warehouses as of November 24, no more will ship from Nintendo this holiday).
To get your hands on one here are the options:
* GAMETOP and EB - are being nice enough to tell customers when their next shipment is coming, but they won't say exactly how many units are coming each day, you can call them and plan to camp out three to four hours before they open. In my area, the Gamestop camp out lines have been the shortest making them the best place to go, but the downside is these little stores only get 5-6 units at a time, if even that many. So if you have six people in line you probably won't get one.
* BEST BUY, TOYS R US - These two retailers have been lieing to customers about withholding Wii stock from lunch for November 24, it's now been confirmed. Some stores have been told to lie to customers and tell them they will have units for sale Sunday, November 26. By many accounts BEST BUY sales clerks and blogging telling people that managers are telling them to say this and that there will be no stock Sunday. one local TOYS R US reportedly withheld their left over Wii stock from lunch until 9:00 AM November 26th (screwing all the customers who waited in line from 8:00 PM the day before). One of my local BEST BUYS had roughly 1500 people camping out prior to opening at 5:00 PM on the 26th. If you want to get a Wii, BEST BUY and TOYS R US are going to be probably the most difficult path.
* WALMART, SEARS, etc... Will get a few more shipments from their warehouses. Nintendo is showing priority/favoring BEST BUY, TOYS R US, CIRCUIT CITY and the GAME STOP owned stores. Some retailers (i.e CompUSA) are expecting no stock of Wiis.
* EBAY - Of of November 24 (date of this writing), EBay has facilitated around 40,000 Wii auctions. Those auctions were from the initial 600,000 lunch units. In monitoring the Wii units auctioned between November 19th and November 24th, most units are either selling individually or with three games included and the average profit over retail is surprisingly low. Most Wii auctioned without extras are selling for $370-$400, after taxes that's only roughly $100-$120 above retail. That may sound like a lot, but if you consider the people at the front of the BEST BUY line waited about 12 hours or more, you can think of it like paying someone $10/hour to stand in line for you. If you think of it that way, for many it's not such a bad option. The EBay sellers would like to get more, but with the supply so great on EBay most aren't getting much more. Many auctions are ending with the reserve not met."
