    What I hate most about the dubs is that sometimes the dubbing company chooses to alter the characters' personality.. (Like in Mew Mew Power D:) Otherwise, if they keep the orginal peronality, and don't wreck too much of the storyline, I'll like the dub. ^^

    Mainly because the voice actors aren't very good and they cut out the 'bad stuff' (which really isn't all that bad) and they just, most of the time, put in bad lines and everything.

    But rarely I like the dub better then the original version. Like Yu Yu Hakusho. I like dubbed version of Yu Yu Hakusho better then the original but I despise the dubbed version of Pokemon and I really don't like the dubbed version of Naruto.

    And only two or so out of the...thirty? Dubbing studios out there actually do this.

    I think the reason most people don't like dubs is because they base them off 4Kids.

    There's a reason why I don't like Dub verison. They always take out the funny and good parts of the episodes. And must of the voice don't really fit for the character. I perfer Japanese subtitled and Uncut English verison more.

    I've never hated dubs. o_o I've heard so many people complaining about the One Piece or Naruto dubs and how much they dislike them, but I honestly don't see what the huge problem is. I don't speak Japanese so watching the dubs is about all I can do unless I want to sit on youtube and read subs for half an hour. XD

    Sure some of the more mature parts may be cut out, but is that such an unbearable loss? Yargh. And I'll admit some of the voice actors sound a bit eccentric, but that's what gives the show and characters more personality in some cases. X3;

    I think some are pretty good. The thing I hate is that they leave so much out of the original, and I can't help but ask where they found the people who dub them. Some of the people sound like they never even watched the anime, much less care how it turns out. Though, I did like Pokemon before they switched them out, Veronica Taylor was awesome. Some dubs that aren't that bad are Inuyasha, and Full Metal Alchemist, or at lest in my opinion.

    I think dubs are okay. I'd rather watch it than read subtitles. And some cases the original is worse than the dub. Take Steamboy, its voices in Japanese were greatly overexaggerated, and English actually had a British accent for the characters. The only part I may not like, which doesn't even occur that often, is when they edit or remove scenes; which is probably the only pet-peeve of most dub-haters.

    I agree. Naruto was annoying for that. Quite a few scenes were missed, only short sections, but they were annoying. In some cases I didn't understand things because of something that was missed out.

    Dubs can be good and bad. Some dubs are incredibly well done while others are completely subpar and effortless. For example, although it's not an anime, take Disgaea 2 for example. Its dub sucks like molasses, and sounds like there's no effort put in it at all. On the other hand... Star Ocean 3's dubbing, though no japanese option, has a fairly good voice acting. In any case, in the case of dub or sub, give me what sounds good.

    Well, the voices just don't seem to match. I mean, when you look at those cute lil faces you just expect japanese. On top of that they try to fit in words that will explain the story, so it doesn't sound natural. You miss crucial information in many dubs.

    It depends (Obviously) I mean take yu-gi-oh! he worst dub, I've seen cats spit up better things!

    But FMA, beautifly dubbed, its as if your watching the japanese series.

    Now Japanese live action shows (Tokusatsu) have some of the most outragously cut up reconstituted series EVER!

    (Super Sentai >> Power Rangers) (Kamen Rider >> Masked Rider)

    Umm, no you don't. Lots of Japanese dubs fit in lots of words, all they're doing is translating them and making them fit the English language without sounding awkward. Usually nothing is lost, when it is, it's one of the lower rated studios like 4Kids.

    And that's why you should stick to subs only on Tokusatsu, it's what I do most of the time.

    Finally! Someone who feels the same way! I'm such a big Magiranger fan and to think of disney getting their hands on the footage makes my skin crawl. \(>.<)/

    Dubs are alright, if the ******* network censors would stay out of it.

    Never really liked Magiranger(Abaranger and Boukenger are more my taste), so Mystic Force made it all the more boring. Though I will admit Magiranger had a pretty solid story.

    I know, in Japan they still edit TV shows, but not to the degree they do in the US.

    And no swearing.

    I've never really hated dubbed anime... Because its what I was first introduced to.
    I voted for 'Some are better then the Japanese, and some aren't'... And some people may think I'm crazy for voting for that choice... ^^;;
    Its true that at one time when I was just begining my otaku-ness (xD) my friends and I thought all dubs were EVIL, and that we'd only watch the Japanese versions...because dubs SUCKED. ...

    But thats calmed down, and come to find out, that now days, there are some anime in which I like the dubs more. Alot of them get better reactions out of me then the Japanese versions do... Not to mention that I really like alot of the VAs, so I like to watch the series that they voice in...

    Granted, with most series I like both versions, and not just one or the other...

    But normally, when I find a dub that I don't like its probably because either the voice-acting is bad, un-emotional/too emotional (over-dramatic), or the voices don't fit right with the characters.

    I can think of many good examples for that...but seeing as this is a Pokemon forum...I bring you...Pokemon Battle Frontier.
    To me, its sounds like the same 6 people are dubbing the entire cast, and alot of the voices for the younger characters...just...don't sound good at all...^^;

    Love ya Sarah, but Ash is starting to sound slightly too girly at times...

    (( I want Veronica back...!! T-T *sobs* ))

    Lol, emphasis on the 4kids. Although they do fit in the words, sometimes a couple extra in there just make them seem awkward to me, however, like mentioned above shows like FMA are decently dubbed. I simply prefer subtitles, because to me it just feels like they aren't warping some text to make it fit.

    Y'know I couldn't put my finger on it but I think your right, Magi and Deka crossover, classic (I think it was better than the movie personally.)

    Abarangers good, although I've only seen a couple of episodes, but Boukengers getting a bit predictable lately, the last one I really remember enjoying was the one with Cinerella's slipper, good story too! (^.^)

    Have you ever tried watching the "Oldies"?

    Apparently the last episode was untouched in the dub, perfectly uncut (Or so I hear) I have the whole series I should really check (O_o)
