  • So far, I've got these five, what should I put in my 6th slot? And I'd like to keep it a Grass-type if possible, I've been thinking of Abomnasnow, or one of the flowers. Note to mods, I do not consider this a battling thread, I'm not asking people to let me try this out, yet.

Torterra - Adamant w/ Lum Berry
    252 Atk / 6 Def / 252 Spe
    Rock Polish
    Earthquake
    Wood Hammer
    Crunch

Ursaring - Jolly w/ Toxic Orb (Quick Feet)
    6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Facade
    Crunch
    Earthquake
    Swords Dance

    Swampert - Relaxed w/ Leftovers
    240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpA
    Earthquake
    Ice Beam
    Muddy Water
    Protect

Ninetales - Timid w/ Wide Lens
    6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Nasty Plot
    Fire Blast
    Energy Ball
    Hypnosis

Breloom - Adamant w/ Toxic Orb (Poison Heal)
    44 HP / 252 Atk / 212 Spe
    Spore
    Mach Punch
    Seed Bomb
    Stone Edge/Rock Slide

  • Definately one of the best teams i've ever seen. But I wouldn't recommend Abomasnow, as it takes super effective hits from 7 different types. How about Shiftry

    Shiftry
    6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
    Mild Nature
    Leaf Storm
    Dark Pulse
    Hidden Power[Fire/Ice]
    Energy Ball

What the hell is so great about Muddy Water? >_< Come on, guys. XP

Switch out Muddy Water for Surf. I stopped attempting to read it after Muddy Water.

For battling strategy Muddy Water has the possibility to lower the opponent's accuracy.

But in terms of why I chose it was merely to fit the theme/gimmick.

From the info I've gathered on the subject (plus that I'm relatively n00bish), I don't have the patience for any Hidden Powers. Thanks much, though.

So basically cheap and technially "Hax." But anyway, just because it fits the theme doesn't mean it's a great move. I would give an example, but I'm still trying to "Wake up."

  • You definitely need some special walling. Try Blissey or Suicune, they're pretty fantastic. On Ursaring you would need Flame Orb over Toxic Orb since the Poison from the Toxic Orb inflicts damage that accelerates over turns. Within three turns, the damage you take from Toxic is already more than Burn. With that being said, Burns take less health from you and thus the Flame Orb should be used. As for Torterra, it rarely uses Rock Polish. Rock Polish is terrible on most Pokemon, and I'd highly advise you NOT to use it. Breloom rarely goes without Focus Punch. Try Spore/Substitute/Focus Punch/Seed Bomb.

How is it "hax" or cheap? It's a perfectly legitimate move that Swampert can learn. It is a great move for my team, I'm a lot more about theatrics and having fun with it instead of competing super-seriously.

Blissey is too common and not forest-ey enough, and I don't like using legendaries.

But don't Burns lower your ATK stat? That wouldn't be all that good for my Ursaring, if it was Sp. Atk on the other hand, then I'd see where you're coming from.

I know Rock Polish isn't used much, but that's part of the appeal to me, something new, something fresh, nearly original. I think it'd be good on my Torterra.

I don't trust being able to stay in the clear long enough for Focus Punch to work, and I don't like the psychology behind Substitute.

Thanks much for the help though, it truly is appreciated.

Lowering people's accuracy? That's kind of like using Brightpowder. Therefore, why I considered it "Hax & cheap."

And, uh, for the bolded portion, if you're using it competively, (posting the title as "RMT.") then you won't be able to get ° A match without someone complaining, and ° A fair match since you won't be using super-competitive moves and stuff.

You really wanna swap muddy water for surf. Theme is all well and good but not when it's lowering your chances of winning. Opponents are only going to switch out of it anyway.

But yeah, atm you need walls. Change torterra for the following:

    Torterra@Leftovers
    Impish
    212HP/252Def/40Spd
    Wood Hammer
    Stone Edge/Earthquake
    Leech seed
    Stealth Rock
This poke tanks far better than it sweeps. Speed EVs to outspeed Tyranitar

As for a special wall, celebi fits in nicely, being the guardian of the forests:
    Celebi@Leftovers
    Calm
    252HP/220SpDef/36Spd
    Psychic/Grass Knot
    Heal Bell
    Leech Seed
    Recover
Standard cleric set but with SpDef in the plae of defence. Leech Seed and Recover make this poke extremely difficult to shift. The speed EVs are there for a reason, though I cannot remember it :)

Ok, I am putting this in my signature. Blissey is OU, NOT Legendary. [S]Legendary's not a tier, anyway.[/S]

    Proof.

    I actually didn't title it RMT, a mod did...>_>

Once again, I don't see how Brightpowder would be "hax & cheap", those are things put into the game and are obtained without hacking it. It's part of a giant strategy (as I'm sure you know, it just seems like you've had one too many encounters with being dis-accuraciedishingly). Just because I don't use the commonly competitive moves, doesn't mean I won't be able to fare in competitions as well.

I've faced people from my home-message board and have done pretty well (with my pirate-themed team, mind you; but still, the whole notion of fun-first compete-second yet still being able to fair is where I'm getting at) along with the random battles on PBR.

    1) If it's cheap, how is strategy?
Serebii: These are all the items that relies on luck to activate. These items are:
Brightpowder, Focus Band, King's Rock, Lax Incense, Quick Claw, Razor Claw, Razor Fang and Scope Lens. (Tell me if I missed some).
Note: Scope Lens and Razor Claw are considered Hax items, but they are the only one that is accepted normally in Wi-Fi.
    2) The home-message board could be full of newbs, but whatever... 3) Wtf? :3

Yeah as I stated before (I think) I was considering Abomnasnow, but now when I really think about it, I think the two main reasons I was looking at it was due to it being a grass-type and Wood Hammer, not sure if it'd really fit in with my team though.

    1) If it's cheap, how is strategy? 2) The home-message board could be full of newbs, but whatever... 3) Wtf? :3

    1) I don't understand the question, I do apologize.

    2) Possibly

    3) What?

Also what makes those items "hax" if they're in the game, and available to use, without cheating?
