I don't want the storyline to change. Stick with the original as much as possible. I liked Lugia and Ho-oh being more hinted to then just givin to you. Infact, I wouldn't mind it if they made them harder to find and all.

To be perfectly honest.. Keep the legendaries out of the main story, like they were before. Leave little hints and such here and there, but nothing more than that. That's one thing I liked about R/B or FR/LG.. there wasn't some crazy ass story based around the power of the Legendary Pokémon. Mewtwo was told about in notebook entries, but that was it.

I hope that the Rockets stay true to how they were before, and there is no mention WHATSOEVER by them about Lugia and Ho-oh.

Just Rocket Gang rushing around and being irritating, trying to get their boss to notice them from wherever he is. Heck, even have a subplot running of Giovanni coming back post-game in Kanto or something, or in the Sevii Isles.. More Rocket would be fine, but NO LEGENDARY TIE-INS.

I dont want to see them get a bigger plot in the game. Back in GSC (and RBY) the legendaries were exactly like their names suggested: LEGENDARY. No one really knew if they existed or were just myths. RSE dropped this kind of treatment. Now its common place to see legendaries. They used to treat all of them like they treat event pokemon like Darkrai now. Expand Team Rocket's storyline instead (3 major engagements and that guy in cerulean city are not enough).

I wouldn't like to see more legendary involvement, I kind of like the way they were hinted at and you had to go and find them yourself.
However, a deeper Rocket plot would be nice. Something between Giovanni and your rival as it was implied in FR/LG that Giovanni's son had red hair.

This is iffy. While I would love another Giratina-type scene in the remakes, I just don't see how it could be fit in. Rockets go after the mascot, which is version exclusive? i dunno.

However, they could include Eusine and have the beast catching quest available.

Having Eusine (was it Eusine or Eucine?) would be good. Unlike Yellow to Red/Blue, when Crystal came out it made a fun little side-trip to the main story and facing your usual rival. They could also include your rival in the legendary process a little better (can't remember-did he show up when/before you faced Lugia/Ho-oh?)

Other than that, I'd like to keep the legends away from the story too. At least wait until post-Elite Four.

Wouldn't be that nostalgic if the storyline is changed.

I WOULD want Ho-oh or Lugia to be a lot more related to the story, though I'm not so sure that it'd be better.

    No ta...
I'm really getting sick of the Gen III/IV standard plot of 'Evil gang wants to awaken massively powerful Pokemon to cause irreversable harm to the universe.'

One of the nice things about G/S was that the plot was a lot more low-key, it was about a leaderless, broken gang trying to find their leader and become feared once again, only to be humiliated by being utterly destroyed by a ten year old.
    Again.

I would hope they'd keep the story the same. If more invovement is needed, save it for after the Johto portion.

Although, it did kinda work for FR/LG...

I would really like them to integrate the legendaries in the stroyline and make TR more powerful and interesting. I mean GSC were awesome but it will be nice if we'll have to fight over Lugia/HO-OH with TR or something like that.

All of you who are outright refusing story involvement need to watch the Plat scene with Giratina a few dozen more times. :/

I don't want to see the same storyline as the originals.

So what you basically want is the Johto Region with a completely new story. Unfortunately, I doubt that will happen. It didn't even happen with FR/LG; they had the chance to integrate Mewtwo into the story, but opted to keep it as was, which I felt was the best course of action.

Much like I feel the same with HG/SS. They're putting it out there as a remake of the originals, so I highly doubt anything major will change in the storyline; there may be some minor changes, like there was with the whole thing with Bill and the Sevii Islands in FR/LG, but the storyline, I feel and I hope, will remain as was from G/S/C.

If this were in the same vein as Suicune's "involvement" in Crystal's story, then I would have absolutely no arguments. However, a fair amount of this popularity is coming from nostalgia of one form or another, and I believe that adjusting the story specifically to fit one of the Legendaries would damage that.

Also, I must admit that it would be enjoyable to play a game once again where the Legendaries are not imperative to the plot.

Yeah, I really don't enjoy how much involvement the legendaries have in the story in the past two generations. I'm hoping they leave the legends alone mostly, or at least enough that you aren't required to catch them to finish the game, as that can tend to ruin natures + IVs when people are in a hurry to get finished with the game.

I really don't understand why some people are so set on the games being "authentic." If Nintendo can make better games then they darn well should make the best games they can. It's possible they could add subplots for the legends and still keep the main plot the same.

Obviously, there were some things in GS that could have been better, such as the ratio of Johto to Kanto Pokemon available early on. Also, they should have evolutionary stones more like Crystal, where people called you and gave them to you, instead of being only able to get them after the E4 and only being able to get one of each at that.

I like the story line how it was. I liked the fact that those legends were just there, team rocket was just out illegaly(?) making money. That's it, and you just so happened to get tangled up in it here and there. there was no impending doom to be caused by an evil master mind that wanted to change the world. they just wanted money...

Shallow, maybe, but in regards to video games where every villain is out to destroy a civilization, world, being belligerants, etc., it was a good twist to see realistic criminals.

I would like to see the same storyline, but with much greater details into the whole Ho-oh/Legendary dogs connection. We really don't know all that much about them except that Ho-oh created them from three dead Pokemon.

This, exactly. I wouldn't want them to be integral to the main plot...I would, however, like more of a backstory on them.
