I don't know what they might do with it until something new is released about it. With just a few scans you can't really determine anything at the moment about the starter following you.

It's a possibility but then again there was that Pichu that followed you in one of the Coro Coro scans. I guess we are going to have to see more photos of the pokemon following you and if we see some more pokemon eother than the starter following you, then it might be possible for other pokemon to follow you as well.

The Pichu could've simply come out of its Poke Ball for the event. It's not known if it can follow you yet.

    well for all we know

only johto pokemon can follow...or they've already made EVERY sprite for following

Not going to happen. If the features extends to more than starters, it wouldn't be limited only to Generation 2 Pokemon. And there is no chance every Pokemon will follow you.

maybe gen 1 and 2 all would be a good idea

Again, they're not going to include a large amount of following Pokemon, and it most likely won't be limited to old Pokemon.

It'll more than likely be a selected few that actually fits the position of falling the trainer in an OW sprite. Being a few from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. I wouldn't mind it simply being only the starters either from the Johto or all started from every region, but all Pokémon would be too much to do, and some just wouldn't seem right to be out of their pokéball. As for the Pichu, you never know if it could have simply been an exclusive just to activate the in-game event for the Notch Eared Pichu.

I think that if your starter is able to follow you, it won't be able to when it evolves and becomes bigger. If they did that would be a pretty big pokemon following behind lol.

It isn't hard to see it following you after it evolves, considering how they allowed them to follow us even after evolution in Amity Square of Hearthome.

Yeah, this is true. It is just weird to imagine throughout the whole game. Cool? Very. I am looking forward to seeing exactly how they will do this. If it is only the first evolution, all of them and if it is only restricted to the starters. I feel there are others that should be able to as well besides the starters.

I'd like the idea they stay out even after evolution, or else it wouldn't really last long considering they evolve in their teenage levels.

Yeah but the evolution of things and walking in Amity was only in Platinum. I'm not too sure of the following yet. I would love it, but I'm not too sure.

The sarter following you has already been confirmed to be in the game. It is just unknown right now if other Pokémon and the starter's evolutions will follow the player as well in their OW sprites.

I'm just hoping it's an option. Because like I've said before it'll get annoying. Or hopefully it's not for the full game, part of it is fine.

I think parts of the game might recall the starter or whichever Pokémon might be out. To me I don't think it would bother me, as long as things down slow me down from progressing from place to place. I actually wonder, with our starter being able to follow us around, then it would be kind of cool to see the new female and Silver with their starters out as well everytime we might come to an encounter with either of them.

Actually that would be sorta fun to see. And then when we (Us & Silver, or the female) have a conversation the two starters enjoy each others company. Or they could totally ignore each other. But little animations like that would be cool to see. That would defiantly improve me liking this following.

Plus, it would give the idea more of an extent to just us the main character and to the other in-game characters as well. I mean it's a possibility seeing as in Amity Square other trainers had their Pokémon out. I like the idea of the Pokémon having some kind of interaction with each other. I can totally picture Silver being followed by a Feraligtr too.

I would enjoy the starters following you around concept better if the sprites didn't look as bad....Well, they've only shown chikorita's, so the others will hopefully not look as bad.

The picture you saw with Chikorita was more likely a beta version of the remake they showed, seeing as how bad Chikortia looked. After we saw Totodile and Cyndaquil we could have kind of told that, so what we saw with Chikorita is expected to be better in its OW sprite when the game comes out.

You know what I always wanted in a Pokemon Video Game?

A main character that could actually talk. ):

    Call me crazy, but still. As I speculate through each new generation/game that comes out, that never happens. ;__;

Me too! I always thought that we should have had more say in what we choose to do. I remeber chooseing to be with Team Rocket, just to see what happens, and it still didn't change the outcome.

I have a feeling that only the starters are going to get to follow you, though it'd be nice to see some others being able to follow - but that's wishful thinking...

Well maybe they will only make the starters follow you in Heart Gold and in Soul Silver, but then they might remake Crystal and put that little quirk in it so people would buy it.

With these games coming out, I doubt there will be a Crystal remake, not now anyway. It isn't needed because everything they could do in a Crystal remake they can implement into HeartGold and SoulSilver and save their time to work on Gen V next.

I think that Gold/Silve/Crystal were the best out of the pokemon games, and that Nintendo ment to do the remakes now so they could get more money, because the 4th generation kind of vacuumed. I mean Diamond/Pearl/Platinum were good, but I thought they could have been a lot better. Another reason I think the reason why that Heart Gold/Soul Silver are being made now is that Nintendo is stuck, or that the 5th generation isn't ready for they're opening, if there is going to be a 5th generation.

Anyway, I would love to be being followed by my starter, but the question that boggles me is: "If we have all three starters (either by trade or by hack) will they be able to follow you or is it just your first pokémon?". Also if they happen to be shiny, will the sprites show that they are? Same goes for gender differences.

With these games coming out, I doubt there will be a Crystal remake, not now anyway. It isn't needed because everything they could do in a Crystal remake they can implement into HeartGold and SoulSilver and save their time to work on Gen V next.

Right, but what about Platinum or the other Booster-games before that? Also maybe they would not put everything in HG/SS so they could make a remake of Crystal. Sure it would cost them money, but I think their thoughts on the profits would out bid that.

Well, Nintendo basically has been working on these games since the release of Diamond and Pearl. This year makes it one of the best years to come out with it because it'll be Gold and Silver's 10th anniversary. Plus, Gamfreak did earn a lot of money from DPPt, but now they are looking for more all the while and probably whether we know it or not in the works of their next generation already.

As for the remark on having all three starters, either the one matching you Trainer ID will be the one to follow, or the starter up in front first.
