I know plenty of girls who play Pokemon, at least online. In fact, two of my losses in Wi-fi battles were against girls. Plus, females make up the majority of my Pal Pad entries :P

Well since I'm a girl I'll just answer from my perspective~

I guess you could say I'm a hardcore Pokemon player. I have almost every handheld Pokemon game plus a bunch of cards and a few little figures here and there. I personally don't know anyone else in real life who likes it as much as me, but I also try to keep my Pokemon gaming to myself. XD

As I said before I don't like other people outside of the computer world to know I play Pokemon so I don't publically play. I don't play DS publically at all though. It's more of a at home kind of activity.

    Well...

Since I'm also a girl, I'll address this situation as well.

I have every single Pokemon game. GBA, GB, DS, Wii, and GC. I play them all the time,.

Sometimes I'll bring my DSi around the stores and mall, and play it there. Once, a couple of boys my age were staring at me, and I laughed at them. My mom and I just walked down the aisles, laughing hysterically at their expressions, as if they couldn't believe a girl actually had a DSi, and was playing Pokemon Platinum. xD

This is a little off topic, but I feel the need to mention it.
Once, I was telling my friend about how I got the DSi for Christmas, and this boy(who supposedly likes me) says, "What are you, a two year-old?" My thoughts? Instant. Hate. Vibe. [/offtopic]

In real life, I don't know any girls that play pokemon (on my school), but then again, only a few guys play it as well as me and my friend. (I'm only 13, so meh - most people get back into the games when they're older)

But i'm sure there are lots of girls/women that think Pokemon is appealing to them as well. Reading the posts in this thread is evidence enough.

no offense but i never have seen a girl playing pokemon on DS except way back in red blue yellow days in third grade.
Because the DS wasn't invented yet? :P

In my town girls are actually the only ones (Besides tots) who can get away with playing Pokemon in public. >.>

im just wondering cuz on PBR online there are alot of girl trainers more so then guys.
Many (But I wouldn't say most.) of them are really d00ds. I know many male players who chose to be Dawn in DPP. A lot of people are just perverts choose the character that appeals to them more and has the better design, rather than choose based only on their real gender. I don't blame them, Lucas is my least favorite hero.

As you can see from the upper-left of my post, I am not a girl, so I can't really answer the main question of this thread. :X

I can't say I ever see somebody playing Pokémon in public, male or female. I know a lot of people from school who used to play Red and Blue but don't like anything after it, but apart from my cousin and myself I don't know anyone who still plays it now. I'm sort of a closet fan of the new games, and I'm assuming some other people probably are as well. The thing is, there's no way of finding them.

So trust me, there are heaps of people out there. Just the likelihood of you meeting any of them is small.

    haha "hate vibe"

for me i think its cute to see a girl get in to her DS. i makes it easier for a guy to start conversation. from there a guy already knows that there is some common ground. =D

I knew a girl that played Pokemon once in primary. She taught me where to get surf how to see MissingNo.

I'm a senior in college, and I still play Pokemon games. In fact, I really didn't know much about EVs and IVs until my college years. My best friend, also a girl, originally got me hooked. She still plays hardcore too, but she really doesn't care about EV training and all that stuff. One of my roommates plays too. Granted, I'm more of a closet player because most women my age don't play, but I still really enjoy it nonetheless.
