I eat everything! (title is misleading and/or biased though). XD :P

I don't see anything wrong with eating animals, and in fact would even encourage the mastication of lesser known meats such as kangaroo.

I wished I had tried crocodile whilst in Australia as well.

Chicken is one of the classic meats I like. I don't like fish too much, unless if it has been heavily spices or raw (sushi). Kangaroo steak tastes sort of like beef, but it is slightly tougher. The meat on their tail (there isn't much) tastes a bit like lamb.

I'm not especially a vegetarian or a carnivore. I don't eat from fast food chains, does that count for something?

    Oh god, I'm sorry that you had to join PETA ;;
They're terrible at everything except getting girls to strip.

As for me, I'm an omnivore. Personally, I believe that many diets are easier to sustain because of meat even though it is possible to live a full life as a vegan/vegetarian.

I'm a vegetarian and I join PETA. And what about u.

You joined PETA, or you plan to join? Also, you can be a vegetarian without joining known terrorist groups. Yes, you read right. PETA is classified as a terrorist organization. They also don't care about animals as much as you might think... but rather they perform mass publicity stunts for attention. If they honestly cared about animals, they wouldn't falsify their "reporting" nor would they cause harm to animals.

They're an organization that saps suckers out of their money to gain a profit, by claiming it goes to a "good cause" when really, they're exploiting their tax-exempt status. This is not me pulling things out of thin air, mind you; please do some research.

I'm not sharing this to pop your air balloon, to shatter your hopes and dreams, but rather to protect you and make sure you're informed that they're not as nice as you might think. So, if you honestly care for animals, I'd reconsider your affiliation with such an organization.

Moving on, my status on eating animals, basically consists of a rather long explanation in which I would have to cite a large ton of sources to make my point, especially to a vegan/vegetarian. In a nutshell, however, I do not believe that eating animals is wrong, and the way we process and treat livestock is actually beneficial to our environment, as well as humane for the animals themselves.

You may be thinking, "Beneficial and humane?" Yeah, a normal reaction. That's why I said I'd have to cite sources to explain. Something that's not really worth the effort at the moment for this thread, but my reasons hold water.

Dudes.. this thread is about vegetarians and vegans.. not organizations :/

I eat meat just because I am so picky about food and I wouldn't be able to get proper protein or nutrition intake if I were a vegetarian or vegan. I respect those who are, though.

Sometimes I would like to try being one.. but I know I couldn't last :/ I'd be too tempted to eat meat.

What a stereotype. You make us other vegetarians look bad.

I am not and have never been a member of PETA.

Having said that, I still somewhat admire the bravery/insanity of those people who disable whaling ships even though it gives ammunition to anti-environmentalists who try to paint every vegetarian as a crazy PETA member.

While that's true... The OP felt the need to share his affiliation with PETA, in which also adopts the subject of people's choice to eat or refrain from eating meat.

I hate PETA because they are hypocrites. I am tolerant of vegans unless they try to tell me that my way of doing things is immoral; then I get a bit annoyed.

    I agree completely with you.

Well, I don't think anyone take People Eating Tasty Animals seriously, but as far as vegans and vegetarians go, I think that so long as the animal isn't tortured or something, it's alright to eat. There are a few inhumane things amongst the farmers that raise pigs and stuff that I'd like done, but there's nothing wrong with balancing our diet with a little meat. Besides, if we weren't here, they would only be eaten by something else. I'll tolerate those that disagree, so long as you don't jump all over me constantly about it.

This goes in part with what I was trying to say would require a long explanation in my post. Basically, which would you rather have?

    A) A cow that lives out it's live in peace, with unlimited food, large protected fields, and shelter.

    B) A wild cow that has no shelter, probably has come down with several diseases, and will most likely be mauled violently by a pack of wolves and every animal with sharp teeth in the general area.

    I'm going for A myself.

As a person who values any given life form equally, I find it odd how vegetarians will refuse to eat animals yet are perfectly willing to eat plants. As for people who simply don't like meat, I don't call them vegetarians as it's misleading — the word implies one has a sort of personal crusade going.

    I'm going for A myself.
B is not nice, but it's normal, natural and therefore for me at least preferrable; A is artificial.

You forgot to mention free run vs. prison (more or less).

Like for chicken, they're force fed all the time (to get fat and plump), and medicated heavily. They just stand and eat. That is what the vast majority is eating. So you'd want to make sure you're eating the right kind of meat.

Companies like monsanto, might say otherwise.

It's impossible to have the right amount of protein being vegetarian, unless you spend money on supplements. Honestly, vegetarians are so silly.

I'm pescatarian, but I don't not eat meat for some stupid, noble reason. I'm just really not keen on eating something that I know was once alive. My initial vegetarianism came about of me being given a chicken leg that still had a couple of feathers on it. I took one look, threw up and I couldn't face eating meat again. I started eating fish about a year ago because I was getting ill from lack of protein.

    And I hate PETA.
