    No.
For that, what you need is a Smeargle holding the Iron Ball, with Trick over Mean Look. Spore+Trick+False Swipe+Baton Pass+Dugtrio.
Then you can get Latis, birds and Levitaters.
Well, that's my bad, I forgot about Trick.

It'd still be much easier to just get a Smeargle or just one Pokémon that can take care of everything rather than worry about having to add a bunch of steps into the process of catching a legendary. If stopping abilities are preferred, than a Wobbuffet is the easiest to go with.

Why switch to Dugtrio after you made the wild Pokemon stuck using Mean Look? Smeargle can hold its own in battle.

smeargle also has pathetic base 35 and 45 defensive stats. If whatever you're battling wakes up and attacks, it's dead. Dugtrio's 50 and 70 defenses are a little bit of an improvement, if you ask me. Although yeah, Wobbuffet is the best really

You guys are reading way too much into this. The tactics you're using are not exactly competitive tactics, but close to them. The legendary Pokémon, though difficult to catch, do not require tons of planning. Trick, Iron Ball, and the like are superfluous when trying to catch a roaming legendary.
The base defensive stats on Smeargle won't really affect anything either. It's in-game for gosh sakes. Provided your Smeargle is of a decent level, it doesn't much matter what its defensive stats are.

My Gengar at level 34 is holding her own just fine against the roaming lengendaries and I have had her do Mean Look and Hypnosis. Before then, I had her do Shadow Ball and/or Nightshade to deal damage. Being roasted alive by Entei doesn't help much, but the damage is tolerable and when Stomp comes around, it misses completely.

I could probably catch both Entei and Raikou at this point if I simply threw a bunch of Poke Balls of all sorts, but I am trying to catch them in less than three throws as I have their HP down to a pretty low level.

As I haven't run into any of the other legendaries yet, I wouldn't know how well she would hold up to them.

He objected to our tactical obsessions!

    tactical nuke-attack!!!:P(I don't play CoD).

On a more serious and less-spammy note...

Is it possible to get Shuckle again, if you gave it back to Kirk in Cianwood City? I've considered raising it to around lv.70, then leaving it, coming back, and seeing if it's grown

I'm afraid once you give Shuckie up, you can never have him back. :(

Besides, the guy already had his Sneasel stolen. Cut him some slack and let him keep his Shuckle! :p

    Lol.

Ok. Well, I suppose it's better than just releasing it when you restart:P

Poor Kirk. I wish you could give another Sneasel to make up for it (i.e. my Shiny, Timid, 0 IV in Atk and Spe Sneasel).

And, ummm....are there any trainers on Mt. Silver?

Which HMs are needed on it?

    RE: Shuckle

I don't know if you particularly wanted Kirk's Shuckle, but if you just want a Shuckle, you can Rock Smash the rocks around Cianwood (or was it Olivine?) and you can sometimes find a Shuckle underneath a rock. :) ... Or you might find Krabbys instead.

The only trainer on Mt. Silver is Red. As I remember, (having gotten to Red, then freaked out and run away to train some more), you need Rock Climb, Strength and possibly Rock Smash?

The only necessary HM to reach the peak is Rock Climb. I honestly don't remember any trainers but I might be wrong (aside from Red that is).

Rock Smash and Rock Climb are definitely needed to get through Mt. Silver. Having Surf and Waterfall can also be helpful but I'm not sure that it's absolutely required.

I never used Rock Smash to reach the peak though. I know this because I was using Skarmory, Blastoise, Typhlosion, Tyranitar, Hitmonchan, and Victreebel. There were only three HM's learned by that team and they were Fly (Skarmory), Surf and Rock Climb (Blastoise). I'm sure it facilitates getting through the cave but absolutely not required.

I think (if I can remember) you only need Rock Smash to get all the hidden items?

Therefore Rock Climb is the only required HM?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking which is why I said it "facilitates".

I'm pretty sure about it. =]

What're some good training spots? I have 7 badges, and I'm at the Radio Tower.
