Ive been thinking, the thing on the left, could it just be its two arms? I mean its left arm is kinda stretched back if you know what i mean.

    edit: sorry i meant left.

I don't know I can definately see some sort of collar but it could be an arm depending on the camera angle. I'm still going to vote scarf though...

Edit: And based on the direction the feet are facing I think a scarf would make more sense.

The more I look at the one on the right I'm having more and more trouble seeing it as a fire type. I mean the things look too rounded to be a main and it's limbs all scream water to me. But this is pokemon and they are only silhouettes so who knows. =/

Haha 5th Generation isn't really even upon us and we already have pokemon with scarfs and ponytails. :P Don't know what this says about the rest of the Generation V dex. but I have faith it'll all turn out. That and I don't mind the clothing as long as they don't go over the top...

People don't believe that guy who posted what the starters were just because you like the idea, he has no proof like Eos said... let's wait to see if he was telling the truth or just trolling with us... i will laugh if it was true as i don't believe it but i'll also laugh if he lied as so many of you do beleive him, lol, so either way i will be laughing when they come out.

i concur, the one on the right looks "water fat", like some sort of otter or beaver. In my opinion, none of them look that great just by their shillouttes. they look, a little childish to me.

While I definately want to believe him I am skeptical but his ideas are kind of cool and are worth speculating as Bamboo said earlier. He's probably trolling with us but none of his ideas are unrealistic so we might as well speculate a new outlook.

I'd say the same goes for others, not sure if they actually believe him but since we've all pretty much stated our (pre-guy) opinions about the starters so we might as well converse about all the possibilities in front of us.

all starters to me look childish with the exception of Hoenn as they look less childish, but chimchar to me isn't childish either.

All the limbs look flat and stream like to me too, as if they were meant for swimming. No claws as you would expect to see from a Tiger.

Maybe...but they're only the the first evolutions, I mean Turtwig is pretty cute and childish but it becomes pretty mean looking once it becomes Torterra...

As Steven said when you don't pick a starter the first time "your better than i thought" he said this as he saw the player was cautious of him and that's what your doing with the starters... i am being more skeptical but it is very possible... i also thought that central pokemon was a donkey but it looks a bit like a pig due to it's tail, and the one in the left looked like a grass swan when i saw it and the one in the right... i did not see what that guy said it was... I didn't guess their types to be the same ones he said either... go figure.

in a way i agree with you, but these ones seem more "rounded" as apposed to the old ones. The one on the left, its legs look really bad, i dont know how it could walk on thoes.

Turtwig's and Bulbasaur's are a little rounded too but they're both four legged. You're right it is weird since it's standing and since all the bird starters to date all have very defined and "bird-like" (chicken legs) feet...kind of interesting...but those kind of legs make sense for a water type, as they'd be good for swimming...you would think at least.

Steven Stone? When did he say this...though I get exactly what you mean. I'm cautious but not totally skeptical.

I hope this guy is trolling around... as we will have another water bird but no grass bird... but that's just me...
I wonder if he knows how they look... why did he not give us their names:\? that has to mean something... i think he should have given us their names atleast or maybe pics...

Steven says this if when he asks you what stone you pick when you get the hoenn starter in HgSs and you decide not to pick one! it''s a great line
Hope he makes a return this gen... actually Wallance is the only champ not to appear in all generation's after his debut region as Lance and blue show up and all 4 so far, steven in 3 his debut and 4, cynthia doesn't count... but she has appeared in all games in her gen the first since gen 2 lance in GSC and blue in RGBY.
Well good night guys got to go to school tomorrow.

Names would have helped but probably wouldn't of meant anything to alot of us without a japanese translation...unless their anything like Zapdos', Moltres', and Jolteon's japanese names. :P
Well we could have translated them ourselves with google translater or googling the word in the name down, that good for me.

    Pokestick good times.

    *comes back*

    Hey, what did I miss?

    Ooh, starter silhuettes!

    ....

Ok, no offense game freak, but this doesn't look good. Except the one at the left with the pointy head. I think it could go somewhere. But the others, what are they, a pig and a penguin alien? No thank you T_T

Well yeah, but to my knowledge alot of the japanese names are plays on words just like the english ones so there's easily things that could go missed by translators and would recquire an actual knowledge of the japanese language...=/

Aah, HGSS. I was thinking Emerald which had me confused. :P Yeah you're right, Steven was an awesome Champion in my opinion. He just had it all going on, little more mentoring than Cynthia and less in-your-face than Lance. (Cape)

speaking of champions, i wonder what the new champ will be like? it would be cool to hav it as the rival again. would he/she specialise on a certain type or just be uber?
