Log:
Well due to the fact that everyone wanted a piece of me and the problems all around I had to fix, I haven't been able to update this log for quite a while. Once the SS Tidal (the ship that I took to get to Kanto) departed, there was an announcement on board that the champion of Joto was onboard. While this meant more praise for them, it meant that every time I ventured out of my room, I was challenged to a battle, which I had to accept Region Champions can't deny any challengers the rite to face him). Eventually I managed to weasel my way out of a few battles, because someone came to me asking me to look for a lost girl. Long story short I found her in the captain's room, and after Almia played Hide and Seek with her (she hid, no prize for guessing who won). She was returned to her father, and the cruise was over.
One I stepped out I was hounded by adoring fans (apparently my fan base has decrease on bit since I left Kanto three years ago). Eventually the crowds started to dissipate after the police was called to help regulate things. I was then escorted to the station in order to speak with Prof. Oak in private. Apparently he wanted me to test the strength of this region's gym leaders at their best, just to make sure they weren't slacking off just because they were forced to use weaker teams than necessary.
My first rematch was against Lt Surge, since I was already in town. He would have probably have lasted longer if I wasn't so upset that he actually had me searching in garbage again just to get to him. Almia's Shadow Ball and Psybeam attacks ripped through pokemon, earning me his thunder badge again.
My next stop was Celedon City, as the path to Pallet Town, via Diglett Cave was blocked off by a Snorlax. Taught Almia how to use Psychic again, as it was one of her key attacks 3 years ago and I knew it would come in handy. Also I meet the girl who taught Almia how to mimic moves and she gave me a Bullet Train pass.
Erika, the grass gym leader was my next opponent. I decided to try something knew and gave her a pair of choice specs (that my mom bought a long time a go). Need less to say that it boosted her power so dramatically that part of the battle field was left in ruins when Almia was done with the battle.
Since I really don't have the time to type out all my exploits I decided to put them in bullet points:
- Got to Cerulean to challenge misty, and found out a Team Rocket Grunt was in there
- Beat said Grunt and he spilled the beans (he stole a part of a generator and hid it in the gym)
- Found part, having a ghost type pokemon who can float and phase through anything sure helped.
- Gave part back to power plant manager (same power plant that I faced Zapdos all those years ago)
- Got Tm Shock wave (one of Almia's old moves) for my reward and the Radio Card for the Kanto Region.
- Went back to Vermilion City, Woke up and captured the Snorlax (he always came back after a while so just decided to stop him once and for all).
- Got to Pewter City, gave Almia a pair of Wise Glasses and Challenged Brock to a fight.
- Beat Brock easily, got challenged by Roark (my rival) and beat him easily too.
- Beat Misty, Janine (Koga's daughter) and Sabrina all with out breaking a sweat.
Sabrina mentioned something about going to the Hoenn region in the near future right after I beat her. I didn't really pay it any mind until this guy named Steven mentioned it, while explaining about why he was here. The more I think about it, the more I think that maybe that should be my next step.
Taking a break from thrashing gyms, I decide to see how my rival was doing (he mentioned something about the Dragon's Den when I fight him earlier). As soon as I arrived (I took the Magnet Train from Saffron and then flew the rest of the way) I saw him talking to Clair and Lance. Before too long and without my input I found myself against both of them with Roark by my side.
It was obvious from the start that they found me the greater threat, as they ordered both their pokemon to Paralyze Almia just to be sure. After a while we manage to gain some ground as Roark Feraligatr's Ice Fang Koed Dragonair, giving me some time to heal Almia. After that was done Almia's Power Gem finished of the Gyarados, she weakened earlier. Since my attention was on the Gyarados, Roark tried to deal with the Dragonite that came out next, but his Feraligatr could only do so much, and it fell to an extremely powerful Thunder.
The battle shifted in our favor once I managed to Ko that Dragonite, as Lance's next pokemon was a Charazard, while Clair sent her own Dragonite to take revenge. We managed to take down both of them without too much problems. Charazard fell because of it's X4 weakness to Rock and Dragonite was eventually knocked out because of Poison. Both Lance and Clair looked worried as they only hand one pokemon left, Clair's Kingdra.
That Kingdra was an absolute beast through, it managed to survive a direct attack from Almia's Shadow Ball (no many pokemon can do that) and fired a super effective ice beat at Roark's Crobat, knocking it out. Roark last pokemon was his Gengar which, along with Almia, was more than enough to handle the Kingdra.
With the battle won, we were both congratulated by our opponents. Roark then once again declared that he was going to beat me one day, and walked off. I think I (along with Lance) managed to change his out look on pokemon as during the battle he wasn't giving out as much criticism as he used to.
I then once again bordered the Magnet Train in Goldenrod, as I still had to challenge two more gym leaders as my duty as Johto Champion.
