encountered a shiny Cacturne on route 228 while training my Snover was able to catch it in 1 quick ball (Huzzah).

My first shiny was a shiny Mankey in firered. When I tried to migrate the Pokemon, it completely erased the game and i had 4 lvl 100s including the shiny Promeape and a shiny Electrode

My shiny count is unbelievably low for someone who has played through all Pokemon games since Gen. II. My first was a shiny Starly found on Route 201 in my first play of Pokemon Diamond. It was in fact the first Gen. IV Pokemon I caught. Later, I went back to my old GBA games to get older Pokemon. I then was lucky enough to get a Shiny Wynaut from the Egg the old lady in Lavaridge gives you. It was PINK! And that is it. I mustn't be very lucky but I plan on SRing for shiny Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza as I have their normal versions. Shiny Regi's would be nice too. Maybe a Mewtwo as well? How long does it normally take to SR for shiny legendaries?

It depends. I've seen people do it on their first try, and I've seen it take a month or so. It all depends.

Sorry but your not gonna get a shiny that way, it would still be like finding a random shiny. Or you could try the Masuda Method which is were you breed a different language pokemon with one of of yours. ( ex. A japanese vulpix with a english vulpix.)

so tell me. if i get any pokemon and another pokemon from the same egg group but from another country, i could get a shiny???

Musda Method was used and 164 Eggs later I have a Shiny Charmander. :)

Well to put it simply breed one of your pokemon with a pokemon from a foreign language game, you will have a 1/2048 chance of finding one. I am now the proud owner of a shiny adamant Staraptor! Imma chaining MASTER!!!!

I used to have horrible luck with shinies being playing since the start and never encountered any until diamond, HMMM let's see... Random encounter shinies I have 3, Hippowdon which was obtained will training my darkrai, Slowpoke will travelling through slowpoke well in SS(my japanese copy), and just yesterday night my most unwanted shiny ever......BIDOOF XD(I loled so hard when it came out).

As for chained shinies(just what I chained half of them are evolved) from memory I have:
6 Shinxs
3 machops
3 pinsers
7 gligars
16 bunearys(XD)
4 beldums
6 Magnemites
1 electabuzz
theres more just cant remember them right now XD

My lil cousin found a shiny Pachirisu near Valley Windworks but he ran outta pokeballs, smh horrible horrible luck.

I feel bad cuz my shiny army is building while he has none

But what's weird is that I caught 4 shinies in HeartGold even before the Elite 4

Encounted a shiny Ariados tonight in the grass area just above the Resort Area - caught it after a few Net balls
