We've all heard it before. Males are, because of the basic code of honor that everyone should live by, not allowed to hit females.

And that's pretty much all that the phrase says on the matter.

So the question is... How far does this go?

Obviously, you're not allowed to draw first blood. Ever. That's... just no.

However, if a girl punches you, kicks you, or slaps you (As you ladies love to do...), would you only fight back if the situation is life-threatening? Or would the simple act of being attacked throw that out the window?

Additionally, to what extent does this idea apply? Is it "Never feed a girl a double helping of a knuckle sandwich" or, "Don't harm females, even slightly"?

Of course, I'd love to feed a certain lady a ten-course meal of knuckle sandwiches, fist-flavored ice cream, fist a la pain, and fist de Shanghai. But that's another story.

    My opinion would be:
    1. Don't draw first blood. Period.
    2. Only hit a girl if there's actual need, but it doesn't necessarily have to be life threatening.
    3. Getting slapped in the face, even if you don't deserve it, doesn't count. For some reason, women have a right to slap people in the face and get away with it. Meh.

And yes, I want people to disagree with me. I want people to tell me I'm wrong, for that is a discussion.

Men are generally stronger than females. It's common sense, really.

Note: This is in a general sense, not in a situation when a female strikes first.

Guys shouldn't hit girls, but men are abused as well. And in those situations, though seemingly less common than a woman being abused, having some self defense is fine.

Yeah, I follow the rule of 'Never hit a girl'. Even if it's necessary, unless it's a life threatening then I'd be the one who pushes her off the window on the 13th floor.

I'd start pushing and shoving girls if I got into a conflict with them when I was younger!

Of course, now I understand that girls simply cannot be hit unless the situation calls for self defense. If a girl was acting weird and I noticed she was carrying a weapon like a knife, towards starting to threaten with a weapon. I'd probably kick her in the stomach hard enough to abort her reproductive system and run far away.

As for the dreaded slaps. Girls are obviously going to have the right to get away with them. No matter what >__>

I think if a girl or any female of that matter touches or physically hurts someone - in this case a male/boy - then they have the right to hurt them back, even though it may not be the most appropriate option. As long as they do no serious damage then I am honeslty fine with it. If it's life threating, then thats another story.

Imagine a lady and a man in this situation. This 'lady' decides she'll hit this man only to find out that afterwards he has not permanent brian damage. It's a matter of self defense. The lady would be punished but then the man wouldn't have the right to hit her back in self defense. To me this is not fair. If the man hit the lady then she would be able to hit him back in self denfese, how is this fair> How is this equal? D:

All situations are different, so I think is depends on the sitauation to whether or not it is neccissary to hurt someone or hit someone.

I believe in this policy because guys are supposed to be courteous to girls (at least from what my dad taught me).

Chivalry is very important (Except if said girl is a royal pain in the butt, and reports you for saying good morning to her... But I digress), but there has to be a limit. Honor before reason will get you killed.

If I ever had that situation I'd just leave first and if she went to hit me i just defend myself until she got tired or so.....but if she had a knife or something I'd go Chuck Norris on her hahaha jk jk

I did see a fight in Middle school in my Endlish class against a boy and a tall girl. The boy swung so hard that he ended backwards and then the girl grabbed his shirt*his shirt was really long* and flunged it over his head then the guy just started swinging widly with no sense of direction but ended up hitting her in the lip but the girl countered with closed fist smaking hard against his back and head which lead to him tripping over a desk and pretty much losing the fight it was hilarious!

I figure that you should never initiate an attack on someone unless they have gone after you first, regardless of their gender. If some crazy woman decides to come after me, you can bet that I'll take whatever means necessary to defend myself.

If she strikes first and continues 'hitting' me, I can't see why shouldn't I hit her back. Unless she's younger than me, like a kid, that is.

A girl who is strong enough to pose a threat to a man isn't a lady, so the rule doesn't apply. (iow, it only came about because women are supposed to be fragile. If they are trying to kill you, then they probably aren't fragile, so there really is no need to hold back.)

(That sounds really sexist... but I really wasn't trying to be. lol)

It's possible to defend yourself without hitting back.

I'd feel guilty hitting a girl so I probably wouldn't do it even if they were hitting me first. If they were going mad using fury swipes on me, I'd just grab her arm or something to overpower her without needing to hit back.

Unless it's some buff wrestling girl that could destroy me in which case all rules go out the window.

There's a lot of opportunity for abuse in such situations. I've seen girls badgering boys simply because they can get away with it.

I think a boy hitting a girl might be risky. For the boy. Only because others might see it and be all "ZOMGZ WOMAN ABOOSER". There are definitely cases where I think it could be justified.

But perhaps just a prompt shove out of the way is a good substitute for raising a hand. That way the girl can't really go crying to Oprah, and she's out of your face as well.

I believe that if someone hits you, to not hit them back. Be the better person. If someone continues to abuse you, fight back, even if they're a female.

I can't stand "never hit a lady". I'm sorry, but some of my fellow women NEED to be slapped across the face. It just sucks that there is a double stereotype. :/ If I attacked a man for no reason whatsoever and just wouldn't stop then yeah I deserve what I get.

I believe in equalism, not feminism or sexism.

If a woman attacked me, I would defend myself by blocking her strikes, there are very few situations where I could bring myself to hitting a woman.
