5th Gen Third Game Speculation

Why's everyone think it's going to be called Gray? In the anime, Team Rocket uses Black and White to symbolize... something, I can't remember, the universe and something else, but Meowth says "Infinite" where the other two said Black and White. Maybe it'll be Pokemon Infinite? And, just a side-off-topic-note, why don't they make it a standard thing for Pokemon to follow you like they did in HG&SS? they could totally start with Infinite.

I disagree tbh. I think people would buy it no matter what name it has, in fact, I think people will buy the title of Grey MORE because they'd associate it the most with Black and White and remember how awesome they are! But really, people don't buy games on the titles, rather the content. If anything, the cover legendary will sway people the most. :x

Newer Pokémon gamers, or younger children especially, will be more likely to buy a Pokémon game with Pikachu on the front than Volcarona. I'm sure Volcarona would looks very ugly to some people, (I think it looks great, tbh), but now that I think about it, I'm not sure whether Gamefreak would be willing to place something so risky on the box-art. Well, I wouldn't be surprised if they did, in the past they put Palkia, who is not only ugly but is often associated with a certain euphemism, on the cover of Pearl.

Still, I think they should add a little bit more Sprite changes. Kinda like how they did in every New Games (IMO). And maybe, a little more Story Progress and more about.....N.

Although theres a posibility.. I dobut they would release both the Third game and an RS remake within a space of 8 months.. I see one of them being released early 2013.

I've forgotten how the exact time span between these games release dates but maybe it'll be like FrLG and Emerald which I remember released pretty close...
The third verison could be crimson as Kyurem is said to eat people and when I think of that i think of blood which is called plasma (which different type of plasma than fire and lightning but the pun makes sense ) though I doubt it...
All the versions have been named after the pokemon's color or something on it's body Charzard,Venusaur,Blastoise,and pikachu- are red,green,blue, and yellow which happen to be named after the RGB and RBY color wheels. Ho-oh,Luiga and Suicune -well this one is a little harder with Ho-oh but it's tail is golden, Lugia is silver, and Suicune is crystal like, all these are things that are seen as pure philosphically as gold was seen as perfection and silver is always paired with gold and the keys to Heaven are gold and silver, while crystal well it speaks for itself, also the steps to God are said to be made of crystal in some theologies.Groudon,Kyogre, and Rayquaza -are red,blue and green but as it was already taken they used Ruby,Sapphire, and Emerald which happen to all be birth stones to July,September and May (...Emerald was obvious on this one). Dialga and palkia and Giratina- have a diamond on it's chest and pearls on it's arms and grey (platinum) on it's body,Reshiram and Zekrom- are white the inverse of black and vise versa for Zek is used as the symbol for Yang (white within Black) and Yin and are also named after philosophy of seperation of people or things into there own groups, Black and white. Grey fits into this as Grey is the mix of black and white and is also known as having no distiction between groups. Grey is also dull in color like Nothingness the opposite to Existence aka Yin and Yang aka Black and White

It's Pokemon, of course it's predictable. Game Freak have been following the same formula for years now.

What if the third game was based on Genesect. I have no idea how the story would work but god it would be way better than Kyreum. Also does anyone think the third game will introduce some new formes? What pokemon will get one?

I'm hoping the third game will introduce at least one or two new formes. Although I'd say none of the current Unova legendaries need another forme to be honest.

I actually think it was pretty predictable. Of course there are going to be some unexpected features GameFreak brings in for some of the games, and in this case it was the following feature for HGSS. But overall the games get predicted easily, especially since you always go through the same sort of way to get your starter, running shoes, Poké Balls, and the consistent things GameFreak implants in all of these games. :P

If they're not going to reveal a new game in Jump festa then I'm sure 100% in April or May like they did in Platinum, they can't go more further than this.

EDIT:Check out Serebii, a new Pokemon game was listed for realese in Japan this spring, no details were revealed about this game as to weather It's a spin off game or a main game, more details will come soon!

I think if they went the G/S/C aspect...they should name it Brown. Or something resembling Landorus. Which should be the the mascot of the 3rd game. Just a thought...

if the new rumored game is a main game then it's proably Grey as they mention only one new game instead of two (rs remakes) unless of course it's Emerald remake...
I think they will take the gen I/III pattern of keeping with their theme of shades in this case.

I think their next game will be a remake of the Hoenn region since they first did Fire Red and Leaf Green for Kanto remakes and then They made HeartGold and SoulSilver which are Johto remakes but since it took about 6 years from the time they made FR and LG to the time they made HG and SS so it could end up taking awhile for that to happen, but most likely it will be Pokemon Grey with Kyurem

Well the pattern is corrupt at the moment because the difference between RG & FRLG is 8 years, then GS and HGSS is 10 years so we can't really base it on that.. it could be 11 years, 12.. who knows. Also, Emerald came AFTER FRLG but Platinum came BEFORE HGSS.

That is a good point. But I still think that we're getting a R/S remake this gen.

Imagine how much better Platinum would be if they waited!

Oh I know, I do see RS remake for gen 5, its inevitable really.. Gen 3 - FRLG, Gen 4 - HGSS, Gen 5 - RS Remakes, it's just a matter of when they decide to release it.

I really enjoyed Platinum and I thought they did an excellent job with it, heck I'm playing it right now!

The mascot will definitely be that Ice-Dragon Pokemon, Kyurem or whatever its name is.

Gamefreak did that same setup -- foggy cave area in the middle of nowhere -- with Giratina, so why not?



As for R/S remakes, that's also a definite yes. Gen I and II have been remade in Gens III and IV respectively, so, again, why not?

It could be Kyurem going by it's name as Pokémon Grey, it could be another however.
