So, Busou Renkin was pretty much too obscure for PC Hipster Shades so I think I need to head back to my roots.

And by roots, I mean Zelda. Once I have a decent idea figured out, I'll begin on a new Legend of Zelda RP.

It will be a two month RP, separated into two stages. The first half will be conversational/building friendships and relationships and the second half will be a pokécommunity-wide exploration.

I'm hoping to rope in some other mods for some treasure hunts and hidden clues, also.

There will be time updates, along with any minor updates ("_____ shop has opened for the day) throughout the first half of the roleplay. Using this technique we should manage the first day in roughly a month.

Hopefully it'll offer people things to do and keep everyone within the sameish timeframe.

Saying that, if it needs longer (as long as I am able to) I would happily keep it active and extend time.

Friends, Rivals, and Netrals alike, I'm here to announve that I'll be leaving PokeCommunity and the RP Corner. I don't want to make this too long of a goodbye, and honestly, I wish I didn't have to go. Life is calling to me, and I have no choice but to answer. I've learned quite a lot from this place, these people. This fantastic community has been generally very positive, and has impacted me more than even I will ever truly realize.

To the friends I've made along the way: I will miss roleplaying with you dearly. Please, bear this knowledge in your hearts and in your minds: You are all extraordinary people, and I could not be more happy to have met the lot of you. However, while I may be leaving PC, and RP, you don't have to lose contact with me. I'll still be available via my Facebook Page or on Skype (My Skype Profile is linked on my PC Profile, under Contact Info), if you haven't added me somewhere already. I'm sure some of you will complain about my leaving, but my mind is made up. I would like to stay in contact although I'll be very busy. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to interact with all of you. This Site has been a huge part of me for a long time, so it's hard to let go. I hope you can all understand my leaving and not judge me for it.

To the enemies and rivals I've bickered with: I'd like to leave a final apology before I go. Whether you were at fault, or I was, or the both of us, I hope that all of these issues are long gone in the past. I will leave this site with no spite or malice toward anyone. May your lives be fruitful, and your experiences grand.

To everyone in between: Whether I haven't left an impact on you, you simply could care less, or I've never truly interacted with you, I will miss you too. I will miss this community as a whole. I hope that you can all enjoy your stay at the RP Corner for many years to come.

I've ranted this out a bit too long, I know... I just want to fully express just how great each and every one of you are, that everyone here will have had an impact on me. Friends are hard to come by in the real world, true friends even more so. This fantastic thread served as a new and inviting community as well as a sanctuary in a dark and painful time in my life. I've a few different things to thank for my living to this day, through a painful depression, a rough time growing up, and many blunders on my own part; and PokeCommunity, specifically you, the collective community of the Roleplay Corner, are part of what helped me through those times... The emotions are getting to me, so I suppose I should stop here before I fully breakdown. This is going to be tough to recover from, but I'll pull through.

Who knows, maybe one day, in the future, I'll be back. Or perhaps life will lead me in another direction entirely. I can't predict what will happen, only hang on and prepare for the ride.

A What If Hunger Games Roleplay

PLOT​

"Don't you dare look out your window,
darling, everything's on fire."​

At some point in the near future, a global disaster of largely unknown causes, constitution, and magnitude occurs. This is described as "the droughts, the storms, the fires, the encroaching seas that swallowed up so much of the land, [and] the brutal war for what little sustenance remained". As a result of this disaster, modern civilization and society essentially collapses, leaving the significantly reduced human population to regroup and instate new governments.

Following the end of the global disaster that devastated the world, the nation of Panem is founded and segmented into a regent Capitol and thirteen outlying Districts over what was formerly the continent of North America. The Capitol rules absolutely and brutally, confiscating all of the Districts' supplies and resources in order to support their lavish lifestyle, leaving the District people largely impoverished.

The thirteen districts of Panem rebel against the Capitol. This rebellion is crushed, District 13 is obliterated, and the remaining districts are subjugated once again to the Capitol's rule. The Treaty of Treason is written to end the war and the Hunger Games are instated, where one boy and one girl from each District brutally murder each other in an attempt to survive...

73 Games later, the reaping for new tributes begins. Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark and others are chosen... But, what if these hadn't been the tributes? What if a completely different wave of people had been chosen... what if you had been chosen?

This RP will be set in the 74th Hunger Games, but with a slight twist in the sense of almost no tributes being characters created by Suzanne Collins, because in this RP YOU will fight your way to survive in the Arena, but maybe things will get out of hands, maybe you'll cause mayhem without realizing it, maybe you'll begin a rebellion of your own. It's up to you...

THE HUNGER GAMES​

A long time ago, the thirteen districts of Panem revolted against the Capitol. Together, they stood strong, but when District 13 was obliterated by the Capitol, resistance became impossible, as District 13 was the driving force behind the rebellion. The remaining districts submitted to the Capitol and lost their hope for change.
Every year since the rebellion, the Capitol forced 24 children into the arena and uses hidden cameras to televise the events in order to both entertain the Capitol citizens and remind the twelve districts how completely at the Capitol's mercy they are. Only one tribute can win the games.

Every year, each district holds a reaping ceremony. Two large glass balls contain slips of paper with each child's first and last name. A child's name is entered each year for every year that they are eligible. The entries are cumulative, and each year another slip is added to the glass ball for the child's aging. Ex: At age 12 one slip has their name, at 13 two slips are added, and so on. By the time each child is 18, they must have a minimum of 7 entries in the glass ball. However, they can choose to add their name more times in exchange for tessera, which is a small ration of oil and grain. Each tessera has enough oil and grain to supply one family member with food for one year.
The district's representative/escort picks a name out of the balls, one of which is for girls and one for boys. The tributes whose names are chosen are then entered into the Games, unless someone is willing to volunteer - a normally quite rare phenomenon unless it is in one of the "Career Districts" (1, 2, and 4), districts in which children have been training their whole lives to enter the Games.

When a victor comes home, they are no longer be eligible to participate in the Games even if they are still young enough to have their name drawn in the reaping. The reaping ceremony is also treated like a celebration to all districts. The children dress up and sometimes given gifts to each other. They also tend to celebrate after the reaping is over, except of course for the children who are chosen who are busy saying their goodbyes.

Each living victor from each district is given the task of mentoring the next tributes for the Games. If there is only one living victor, he/she will be mentor for both tributes. Any living victor is invited to the Capitol to come alongside the tributes and to watch the Games live. Mentors are expected to come in order to sort out the complications of sponsors and sending the gifts into the arena.

Each tribute is allowed one token from their district, to represent and remind them of home. They must not be able to be used as weapons. They are very carefully examined and checked for any hidden triggers. As tributes battle in the arena, quite often they can become helpless. This is simply because of the Cornucopia bloodbath since the tributes are fighting over the items they need to win the Hunger Games. Many of the tributes are left with limited or no items they wanted from the Cornucopia. Wealthy viewers or groups of people can pool their funds and send items into the arena should a tribute need something, such as food, shelter, weapons, or medicine.

The bloodbath is what starts the excitement in the Games. On average, roughly half of the tributes die at the initial battle that takes place at the Cornucopia, near the starting point of the games. Spilling from the Cornucopia and strewn on the ground among the tributes are various items including weapons, food, water, and other supplies. Some tributes venture into the opening scramble for these valuable items, while others use it as part of their strategy for slaughter.

If the Gamemakers feel that there has not been enough bloodshed recently, they will invite all of the tributes to the Cornucopia for a feast. Normally this feast features something desirable to the tributes, like food, armor, medicine, etc. so they will be more likely to go. Some still choose not to because these feasts usually result in a bloodbath. Attendance is not mandatory when this feast occurs.​

So, real question is: Would anyone be interested in a Hunger Games RP? :o I know that adapting the entire series itself would require more tie than the one I currently own so, yeah, just an interest check for if I ever go ahead with this. Or if anyone is interested in doing this kind of RP, I could PM them the stuff I have :]

lol I used to do that too before I realized that I could just make a new thread and preview it until I was content, and then store the lot in my UCP notepad.

The RP is cool for real though. Hunger Games RPs have been tried lots of times before but none lived for very long, did they? There's a problem with people being killed, I mean what will they do then, quit the RP?

Unless you count Years of Lies, that one lived for years haha.

^I did a hunger games roleplay last year...it was a Pokemon version and it didn't shoot off well because I was busy. However, I would loooove to see a HG roleplay with actual human beings, like... based on the books but we use our own characters.

Hunger Games kind of lends itself to the competitive role plays we mentioned earlier. Perhaps it could be tweaked in to a team based event rather than simply pairs?
