  • I just got out of school and i saw this. I just LOVE it they all look awsome! My reaction was the same as dookieshed's

Now it doesn't even matter that your rival picks the starter that is super effective to yours. We can have 3 starters now. I'm thinking Froakie-Torchic-Bulbasaur.

I dont live somewhere where I can just go and spend $5 as easily as you guys for something like this. true, they arent entitled to give it to us for free, but it is an expectation, and its seems to be an excuse for nickel and diming us. I DON'T have a problem with the pokemon bank aspect, just the cross gen transfer.

$5 a year is not nickel-and-diming. If they were charging per Pokemon transfer, or per box, that would be nickel-and-diming. This is a $5 charge for an entire year which allows you to store 3000 Pokemon at a time, and transfer an unlimited number of Pokemon to X/Y.

Also, side note: You're 23 years old and you can't get to a mall on your own? I'm sorry but that just seems like you're making things up for argument's sake. How are you planning to even get X & Y?

Right, now that right there would be bad...if one were to transfer 3000 Pokémon at the cost of 5 cents it'll total 150 dollars...

LMAO and knowing Nintendo, they'd charge $5.99 per box or something. See their Pokedex app on iOS. :P

I'm actually surprised the pricing isn't more ridiculous. I wouldn't have been shocked at all if they wanted to charge $9.99 per month.

  • Notice how Vivillons icon is grey rather than pink? It could be the Male alternative or Shiny forme but Vivillon is said to have a secret hidden in the colorful decorative pattern on its wings...

Age really doesn't have anything to do with transportation issues. I'm almost 25 and there is no way I can get to any store without aid of a friend, my brother, or other relatives. I can't drive and I live out in the country.

I've got medical reasons as to why I can't drive and there is no bus route near me. I'd have to walk 40 miles minimum to get to an area with bus and traffic.

Though, the bank and transfer are still very affordable.

people are complaining that $5 a year will break their bank , if that's truly the case how can you afforded the 3ds to play the game? How can you afford to buy the game ? How can you afford to pay for the Internet service or the means to even have the Internet or a device able to post their message here

  • Well looks like I am starting from scratch with pokemon. I can't buy anything on the Nintendo Eshop because of the bank we use. Oh well.

  • It appear that today's news is discouraging some from buying the games :(
I'm was also surprised to hear it wasn't monthly...that would've meant thirty dollars in a year...which would be almost as expensive as the game itself.

Not such news I expected with Nintendo Direct, thought there would be morebut this is fine by me.

The whole boxing system is a pretty good thing they came up with (100 Boxes?!).
And now to the Mega Evolutions; I told myself yesterday before seeing the Direct announcement that new MegaEvo's will be revealed soon and I was right =p.

Mega Venusaur is not so Mega imo. His flower grew, a flower on his head and some extra vines and leaves. Period. Expected some more, but it did not grow hair. (Thank you). Thick Fat as ability is so useful, Venusaur barely takes damage from Fire and Ice now =).

Mega Charizard looks much more like a Dragon, sadly enough, it's still Fire/Flying. I bet his Speed stat is increased, as it looks so much more swifty. Drought as ability is so usefull. Fire Blast is now, besides the STAB and 120 BP, a destructive move. Water type moves are weaker and even Solarbeam is a good move now.

Finally Mega Blastoise! The best MegaEvo so far! This is how it must be done. Not growing hair or adding spikes. No. Blasty gained cannons on his arms. Just perfect. Not so fond of the ability, but who cares. Probably will get a boost in either Defence or Sp.Attack.

So sad I do not get the chance to play X or Y :(

Fair enough. But I feel like this scenario doesn't occur often enough in conjunction with someone also a) not being able to work to afford $5 a year, b) not having a credit card and/or c) not having any relatives who would be willing to buy you a $5 nintendo e-shop gift card as a present...

No one said this. Don't pull straws.

To some this is a problem, regardless if they're broke or not. Look at it this way: Why should I pay 5$ YEARLY to a necessary feature when I could have had it from the start? A very reasonable complaint.

It's less of a money problem (no one said it is) and more of a problem with this practice. It's anti-consumer. It's reasonable why no one would want to do support this regardless if they can pay or not. That, and you can get MUCH more important and better stuff for 5 dollars, so to most this is just not worth the money.

Personally I couldn't care less about this feature since I have no use for it, but it's understandable why people are unfavorable to this. No reason to attack them.

Also if it was $5 a month, that would be $60 a year. Just thought I would point that out.

Ah thanks for the correction. I should proably go get some rest...haven't slept since I woke up at 4...can't even do math right...

Spino has a point, it does seem anti consumer...especially if the in game pc number is less than last generation like some on here theorized earlier (one of them being Xander).

$5 a year? No problem. Sum up al the things you buy, like food and books. I bet that would be over $60 a year. GF puts alot of effort in it, ok?

Question: When does the llama appear in the video? I've watched it 3 times and still haven't seen him.

Not even. The service is completely free for everyone until January 31st.
