Yep. Only the 3 original birds and X Y Z pokes? I'm shocked.. All the previous games had plenty of legendaries such as Lake trio, Regi trio, etc. Maybe there are still some roaming legendaries? I highly doubt it though.

For one, I personally like the lack of legendaries in this game because there were too many legendaries introduced in Gen IV (maybe V) that I got sick of.

who knows, there might be one or two event Pokemon in the game that we can't see.

I'm guessing there's at least two more hidden, event legendaries. I'm rather displeased with the overall lack of Pokemon in general. Yes, there's a ton of Pokemon from all generations, but I'm disappointed with the number of new 'mons, 68 or so Pokemon seems like so little, even when you include the megas.

A bit off topic I got there, but I'm also disappointed in the lack of legendaries. They serve as fun mini-quests for post-game material, so to me... it's always been the more, the better. They could have at least added more previous gen ones than the birds. I haven't seen Darkrai in a while, would have been awesome to see that one show up in Kalos somewhere.

I like how you can never please /everyone/.

When there were a lot of legendaries from Generation 3 on, everyone complained that the legendaries have lost their statuses.

And now that we only have 3 new ones and 4 from Kanto, people are complaining about the lacks of legendaries, again. Tsk.

Quite correct. There's always going to be too much, or too little. This gen they just went with less, and as we cannot know of any event legendaries until they reveal them this time around, it seems even less than before too.

I don't mind it much, myself. More interested in the more regular pokes anyways, and as long as they are interesting then it needn't be over 100 of them.

Everyone must take note that we haven't unlocked everything in the game, not to mention an event legendary every Generation. The Pokemon company have confirmed that there are secrets in the game already inside that we must wait for them to reveal. Its still early so we mustn't conclude to quickly.

It's because people complained about too many legendaries due to "ruining the main point of being a legendary," is which really not true because it is their power that defines a legendary, not their numbers. It's why video game companies should never listen to their fans for ideas and just do their own thing on what makes the game good.

    Guess so.
Now we are left with almost nothing to do - When we could be trying to hurl balls at legendaries post-games before.

Now we only have that handful of them to dump my balls on; Meh.

I guess the reason behind the lack of Legendaries compared to past generations was also the reason why Kalos introduced the least amount of new Pokemon in general - I remember reading something that said the reason there was a huge lack of new Pokemon was because they had to construct all those 3D models for both new and old Pokemon, and having too many new Pokemon would have made it harder for Game Freak to pull off if they were going for a simultaneous worldwide release.

In other words, time constraints, which is completely understandable for every company, because nobody likes a poorly rushed game with messy models, frame drops, and glitches, though they could've at least delayed the game like what Nintendo did with Tropical Freeze this month.

Except there's no evidence that the lack of new legendary Pokemon is because Game Freak listened to a vocal minority. None at all. Such decisions are made independently of a few posts on a forum.

I thought you still could? Three new legends, plus the roaming Kanto birds. Add onto that the Battle Maison, Friend Safari, Looker sidequests, Pokeradar.... there's still a fair bit to do post game, from what I hear. (I am not up to post game, so I can't speak on my own experience, however).

Where was that? Any link to such a source? I recall reading that it was hard to do all the models and make them look nice, complete with animations, but not that it was the reason for the number of new Pokemon from Game Freak themselves. Could be I just didn't see it, so I'd be interested in reading it.

I don't remembering hearing any confirmation on that...the times I've heard that it's come from fans trying to reason the lack of new Pokemon...who knows what the real reason could be...maybe in next month's Corocoro there'll be an interview with Masuda where he'll explain the small number/ inspirations of the Pokemon.

Tell me: why are legendaries considered fulfilling endgame content anyway?

The only thing I don't like is we didn't get a trio. That is really the only complaint I have. We have had a trio every gen. (Regis, Birds,Beasts, Lake, and Musketeers) That is one of the biggest thing I always look forward to. That is what made me really disappointed about it.

Also, I think it was said somewhere (I don't remember where) that Megas were on the same tier as Legendaries. That might be why we didn't get many new ones as well. I would say there is a Mega Stone somewhere for the 3 Birds. Just hasn't been found yet.

Is that a stab at XY I'm reading? Lol because they do have the frame drops, and glitches...so maybe me calling this game rushed may not have been so out of line...

I too wish there was a side trio...guess the only new trio we got was the legendary trio...this was the easiest generation to guess who the third version/sequel mascot could be...as there's only one other new one...plus it's name starts with a Z and looks like a serpent xD.

Pokemon X and Y just recently came out, so obviously there are more secrets besides Zygarde, bird trio Mega stones, looker misions and the national pokedex pokemon upgrade. Game freak are the best at holding secrets so expect more in the future like event legendaries, trios and more plus there's a lot of hints to more things to come like the strange artifact with a ancient pokemon engraved on it and the creepy girl from luminose city that tells you "you are not the one". Both hint to secret sidequests obtained later in game or in future wi-fi events. Still i understand the dissapointment of the lack of legendaries but it is because of using old legendaries to fill those holes and while old legendaries are always a treat for new generations, the method they are obtained are really easy. If they went with at least 5 legendaries to start postgame (Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, one sidequest legendary and mewtwo) they could leave both new and old legendaries for more future events like darkrai in gen IV and genesect in gen V.

Feel like the "less is more" approach was caused by people complaining about things like Garbordor and Klink so game freak decided to do nothing. The lack of Legendaries, plus making Mewtwo obtainable without even a little bit of a puzzle (not asking for another Cerulean Cave but something besides walk in get mewtwo profit would have been nice) baffles me. It seems like the setup for DLC. I don't mind DLC, but this game has nothing to really do after the E4 save for two easy legends and Looker.
