There aren't that many Legendries in the new generations. Why? Discuss!
Quite correct. There's always going to be too much, or too little. This gen they just went with less, and as we cannot know of any event legendaries until they reveal them this time around, it seems even less than before too.I like how you can never please /everyone/.
When there were a lot of legendaries from Generation 3 on, everyone complained that the legendaries have lost their statuses.
And now that we only have 3 new ones and 4 from Kanto, people are complaining about the lacks of legendaries, again. Tsk.
It's because people complained about too many legendaries due to "ruining the main point of being a legendary," is which really not true because it is their power that defines a legendary, not their numbers. It's why video game companies should never listen to their fans for ideas and just do their own thing on what makes the game good.
In other words, time constraints, which is completely understandable for every company, because nobody likes a poorly rushed game with messy models, frame drops, and glitches, though they could've at least delayed the game like what Nintendo did with Tropical Freeze this month.I guess the reason behind the lack of Legendaries compared to past generations was also the reason why Kalos introduced the least amount of new Pokemon in general - I remember reading something that said the reason there was a huge lack of new Pokemon was because they had to construct all those 3D models for both new and old Pokemon, and having too many new Pokemon would have made it harder for Game Freak to pull off if they were going for a simultaneous worldwide release.
Except there's no evidence that the lack of new legendary Pokemon is because Game Freak listened to a vocal minority. None at all. Such decisions are made independently of a few posts on a forum. It's because people complained about too many legendaries due to "ruining the main point of being a legendary," is which really not true because it is their power that defines a legendary, not their numbers. I thought you still could? Three new legends, plus the roaming Kanto birds. Add onto that the Battle Maison, Friend Safari, Looker sidequests, Pokeradar.... there's still a fair bit to do post game, from what I hear. (I am not up to post game, so I can't speak on my own experience, however). Now we are left with almost nothing to do - When we could be trying to hurl balls at legendaries post-games before.
Where was that? Any link to such a source? I recall reading that it was hard to do all the models and make them look nice, complete with animations, but not that it was the reason for the number of new Pokemon from Game Freak themselves. Could be I just didn't see it, so I'd be interested in reading it.I guess the reason behind the lack of Legendaries compared to past generations was also the reason why Kalos introduced the least amount of new Pokemon in general - I remember reading something that said the reason there was a huge lack of new Pokemon was because they had to construct all those 3D models for both new and old Pokemon, and having too many new Pokemon would have made it harder for Game Freak to pull off if they were going for a simultaneous worldwide release.
I don't remembering hearing any confirmation on that...the times I've heard that it's come from fans trying to reason the lack of new Pokemon...who knows what the real reason could be...maybe in next month's Corocoro there'll be an interview with Masuda where he'll explain the small number/ inspirations of the Pokemon.I guess the reason behind the lack of Legendaries compared to past generations was also the reason why Kalos introduced the least amount of new Pokemon in general - I remember reading something that said the reason there was a huge lack of new Pokemon was because they had to construct all those 3D models for both new and old Pokemon, and having too many new Pokemon would have made it harder for Game Freak to pull off if they were going for a simultaneous worldwide release.
Tell me: why are legendaries considered fulfilling endgame content anyway?Guess so.

Now we only have that handful of them to dump my balls on; Meh.
Is that a stab at XY I'm reading? Lol because they do have the frame drops, and glitches...so maybe me calling this game rushed may not have been so out of line...In other words, time constraints, which is completely understandable for every company, because nobody likes a poorly rushed game with messy models, frame drops, and glitches, though they could've at least delayed the game like what Nintendo did with Tropical Freeze this month.
