Does anyone know there is a way to downgrade Pokémon X, I have version 1.2 and I want to have version 1.0 again. And if there is a way, does that mean you lose all your Pokémon and are there any risks?

You could try deleting the patch from your Downloadable Content tab in the Data Management section of the Settings menu, however if the 3DS is built like the Wii U, once you have connected to the internet once and downloaded a patch for a game, you can never play that game again once the patch has been deleted. (it's not as bad as it sounds, the problem is fixed as soon as you download the patch again) just be aware, there's a chance that once you have patched a game, it is made to not work again without that patch, just just keep that in mind as a possibility.

Should I wait until Pokémon Bank comes out, so there's no chance to lose any Pokémon?

Oh no, you have the cartridge right? No, you won't lose any pokemon, at worst you'll just get a message telling you to download the patch again before you can play. You'll be fine.

Why do you want to do that? Also, you can't connect your game to the internet without patch 1.2.

This too (adding words just so the post will post.)

For example, I am playing PKMN X, and then I want to add someone's FC.
Do I need to restart the game for me to see them on my X's friend list or no?

Oh no! Did they put a battery in this game cartridge as well? I remember that caused so many problems in Ruby, Saphire and Emerald when the batteries started dying.

No, they stopped doing that after Gen III because it was only necessary to keep track of the time while the system was off, and the DS/3DS does that with its own battery.

then how can time travelling affect the game? If you take the game out and change the time, shouldn't the game just think that that is the correct time?

They make the games so that if you "time travel" then time-based features are disabled for 24 hours. This is to prevent cheating (e.g. repeatedly time travelling to get more lottery tickets). When you change the time/date this action is recorded on the 3DS system itself, so you can't get around it by taking out the game first.

You can simply suspend the game by using the Home-button. After adding the FC you can resume the game from there and disconnect from the internet ingame (if you're connected) and connect again. After that your friend should show up.

Are there any patterns to the way the legendary birds move around the map? I remember in past generations the dogs would move to adjacent routes everytime you loaded into a new area, but I don't see that happening with the birds this time. The only thing I've noticed so far is when I use Fly, the location seems to change, but it doesn't seem to change in any noticeable pattern. Any suggestions for how to track down my bird?

Breeding questions. So, Destiny Knot works regardless of which parent holds it. Everstone gives a 100% chance of passing nature of regardless of which parents holds it.

    1. Let's say I have a female pokemon with the egg moves I want... yet a male with both the prefered nature and decent IVs. What disadvantages would there be to having the male hold the everstone and the female holding the destiny knot? A lot of friends and guides seem to suggest or recommend that they almost always have the female hold the everstone, but I'm not sure if this is because of past gen mechanics only allowing females to pass natures and people have become set on it, or if there actually is an advantage.

    2. Perhaps related to the first question. I know males can pass on HAs now through ditto. But if I breed two pokemon of the same species--a male with the HA and a female without--will allowing the male to hold the everstone pass on the ability? What are the chances, with and without the everstone?

    3. This website ,destinyknot . tk, has a dropdown list of ability chances: 80%, 60%, 40%, and 20%. What do all these chances correspond with? I think I know, but I just want to make sure, especially if a probability chance applies to more than one scenario.

    4. Related to question 3. What are the probabilities of passing on abilities (both HA and non-HA) when not holding an everstone? For instance, if the male held the everstone to pass on his nature, yet the female with egg moves and IVs were to hold a destiny knot.

    5. Oh wait, if the male holds an everstone (or if a ditto holds an everstone), will that raise the odds of the female passing her ability?

Edit: Please don't be intimidated by my long list of questions... even answering one would be helpful. Thanks!

More experienced people than me can address the other questions, but I just want to point out that you seem to be confusing Natures and Abilities. The Everstone guarantees that the holder will pass down its Nature, like Modest or Mild, but it has nothing to do with Abilities such as Swift Swim or Chlorophyll.

Does anyone know how to get a Choice Scarf?

EDIT: Better yet, anyone know where to find ANY of the specialized breeding items? I hate the fact that I've been breeding and still need a bunch of different items to make my hatched Pokemon the best they can be.

This si the first pokemon I've seen that does this, but Ferrothorn has the hidden Ability Anticipation, however it's pre evolution Ferroseed has NO hidden ability at all: https://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/597.shtml so how can you possibly tell if, when breeding, the baby has a hidden ability? Do you just breed, hope for the best and then all the way at level 40 you THEN find out whether it got the hidden ability or not?

And before the discussion about whether or not Iron Barbs or Anticipation is a better ability, that's not the point. The point what do you do in this situation because there's bound to be other pokemon in this same situation where their evolved forms have a hidden ability but their pre evolved forms don't (I don't think Ferroseed/Ferrothorn would be the only one) so what does on do when this situation presents itself?

Feel like I am a couple days late to the party, but I saw your question over the weekend and wanted to play around with what works before trying to answer this one. It IS tricky, but you CAN do it.

First, you need to find a Ferrothorn that DOES have Anticipation. What I did was go to a Safari with Ferroseed, had a lead male with Cute Charm(I hate breeding with Dittos so I wanted my Ferrothorn to be female). Ran away from anything that was not a Female Ferroseed, and caught all those that were (I caught about 6 to start).

Next, raise all of them up to Level 40 to see which if any change to Anticipation once they evolve. I was lucky and my first one was an Anticipation Ferrothorn!

Now, is the tedius part. sort of. Familiarize yourself with the egg trick that is detailed here:
    https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=312140

When using the egg trick, you will want to use two parents where the female knows a hidden ability, and you want to not be using a ditto. The best to use is Magikarp because of it is the quickest egg to hatch, but as you can only get one with it's hidden ability from Pokebank, you will need to find something else. Anything you have that has a hidden ability will work.

Now, once you have your test egg, ride around until it hatches, and look at it. If the harched Pokemon has it's hidden ability, then soft-reset, and put your Ferrothorn in the daycare, and collect and egg, and hatch it. It's Offspring will evolve at Level 40 into a Ferrothorn with Anticipation. If the hatched Pokemon does NOT, then when you soft reset you will bike around until the day care man has an egg, you will refuse the egg, save your game, and repeat the egg trick process.

Has anyone else noticed other Pokemon that only gain their Hidden Ability after they have evolved? I find the Ferroseed/Ferrothorn situation to be really kind of neat.

And Howmander, thanks for the fun questions you led to me spending quite some time experimenting this weekend on this.... I PROBABLY could have found a better breeding project than that, but I had fun.

    1. None, as far as I'm concerned. Males can pass down natures via Everstone too.
    2. Everstone has nothing to do with abilities. It passes down the parent's nature only. A female Hidden/Dream World ability parent has a 60% chance of passing down its ability to the offspring, but only if it's paired with a father of the appropriate egg group. Males probably have that chance too, but only if they're paired with Ditto.
    3. 80% chance is the chance that the mother's ability (if the species has two possible primary abilities, such as the Ralts line's Synchronize and Trace) of being passed down. The other 20% is the other ability.
4/5. See #1 and #2, as well as JohnJSal's answer.

What is that? Where is that? What's BP? lol

The Battle Maison is in Kiloude City, a post-game area. BP stands for "Battle Points". You win them as you win battles in the Maison; they can then be spent on battle items like the Choice Scarf. BP have existed since Pokemon Emerald.

80%: the chance that the mother will pass on her Ability (excluding Hidden Abilities)
60%: the chance that the mother will pass on her Hidden Ability
40%: the chance that the child will inherit the regular Ability if the mother has a Hidden Ability and if there is only one regular Ability for that Pokemon
20%: the chance that the child will inherit a particular regular Ability if the mother has a Hidden Ability and if there are two regular Abilities for that Pokemon OR the chance that the child will inherit the other Ability if the mother has a regular Ability

    Whew.

    2. Perhaps related to the first question. I know males can pass on HAs now through ditto. Males can only pass on their Hidden Abilities if paired with Ditto. If paired with a female without the Hidden Ability, it cannot be passed on. Similarly, if both the mother and the father have the Hidden Ability, it is no more likely to be passed on than if only the mother has it.

I think everything else was already answered.
